Good evening everyone! Thank’s for joining me for this weeks meals of the week video. We were down at Windermere for a couple of nights…so I’ve included what we had down there too. Can I ask you to give the video a ‘like’ please? 🙂 If you like! I’ll join you down in the comments x
I cannot believe the prices on that menu...Over £17.00 for fish and chips?...I live in Yorkshire near the sea. We have a marina, where the fishermen go out to sea and catch the fish. Fish and chips here costs, £8.00, that is for a large cod....Some hotels and restaurant's are really taking the Mick...Could not believe the spaghetti dishes prices. These dishes are all cheap to make..Even London prices do not charge this for pasta dishes. Love your channel by the way. I love your dishes
I love your meals of the week, a sweet reminder of family meals with ideas for future reference. 😊👍🏻 Instead of my usual solitary microwave Sunday meal, my youngest son and his family invited me for a birthday dinner. My daughter in law made a beautiful roast pork in the air fryer, lovely crackling. She did roast potatoes with some really nice seasoning. It was a tasty dinner, a lovely way to spend a birthday evening. 😊👍🏻
Aww thank you for the mention! Oscar watched this when you uploaded it and he was so excited for his name being mentioned lol we do indeed love the cheeseburger pasta. I had it on the meals list for this week but I think its too hot this week lol. That hotel looked very nice and how nice to have breakfast in your room. I like that idea. X
My favorite time on the channel as well. Here in my area of the USA, we pickle hard cooked eggs with beet root. Both the beets and red eggs are delicious. Quite nice added to a summer salad plate. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy a lovely week.
@@CindyMarie528 my parents were both from a wee town in Idaho. My paternal grandmother made them and taught my mom. Her grandparents came via the Oregon Trail from Ohio and before that had left North Carolina during the Civil War (many times great grandpa was an abolitionist preacher and he pissed off the wrong people). Family lived int the Carolinas since the 1760’s when they came from Scotland.
I can never argue with your choice of meals Cheryl. Unfailingly tasty but unpretentious. My kind of food. I would have taken the egg over the black pudding, as I hate the stuff with a passion, but otherwise even the breakfast away looked absolutely delicious and I just love the idea of sitting at a table in my room enjoying breakfast in a leisurely way. The guesthouse looks amazing! Another week of super eats, so thank you!
Wonderful meals and so nice to take a little trip to my so loved Windermere with you. I live down in Hampshire these days but still miss 'The North'. What a great place you stayed at - thank you Cheryl! x
Cheryl, I enjoyed the most delicious banoffee waffle at The Old Loans Inn last November. I don’t know whether it’s still on the menu but, if so, it’s definitely worth a try. A banoffee sundae was also enjoyed (not on the same day😄!) at Highgrove House Hotel. Again, I can’t tell you whether it’s still on the menu. Both desserts are definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled for if you love all things banoffee. Thanks again for another mouth watering video. See you on the next one🙂
Lovely looking B&B,glad you had a good time.I liked the menu from the Italian restaurant,I would have had a hard time deciding between the dishes, the Tuna in Jungle, the venison, the duck,or the chicken liver looked good to me.I don’t like to order dishes I can make at home easily, though of cause I could make the chicken liver at home, but the prep appealed to me.
Hi Cheryl, thanks for showing the room in you B&B, it's lovely! I also love it when you go away and you show the menus. Now, I have a very serious question for you - what happened to your theme music? 😊I really loved the old music, very jolly, I miss it!
I bet you could make that chicken dish at home. It sounds yummy. I love your tuna mayo with corn in a baked potato. I'll be making the Cheese Burger Pasta Bake later this week. It is delicious. TY for the recipes and sharing your travels with us. I love the boutique hotel. Love ya.
I Cheryl looked lovely. All your delish meals, I always imagine your family getting super excited as tea time nears, knowing they are going to eat your food❤your two days, away looked fab, loved your Rum Doodle room. Gale x
Oh Cheryl don't apologize for not liking eggs😂....we have some family members that have the same dislike. For them it's about texture. So its OK you don't like eggs!! That being said lovely meals...loved the pastas....and your stay at windermere looks cozy😊
Ha! You reminded me of the first time my team traveled to the UK. And worked late. C.B. was excited for a bacon sarnie out the machine. I'll finish it CB. THE HELL you will, omg what is this. I ate it, tooth marks and all lol. Great with a cuppa
All.meaks look delicious as always. Even your jacket potatoes with Tuna/ mayo & sweetcorn look far more appetising than mine do Cheryl, jacket potato's with tuna/mayo & sweetcorn is ones of my favourites. That room you stayed in looks loveky don't blame you having your breakfast in your room, it's nice to chill out at breakfast on your own rather than go down to the dining room sometimes it can feel rushed or of people chat to you, you might just wabt a nice quiet breakfast but don't wabt to seem rude!! So that woujd suit me & my husband. Glad you had a nice break
Must have been cold that day... why? Because the potatoes had their jackets on! Sorry couldn't resist, I'm a Scot living in Canada and its not often I hear about potatoes with their jackets on lol
I’m really sorry, but your food looks MILES better than the food you paid a fortune for in Windermere. Maybe you should open a restaurant! Lovely video as always, Cheryl. I’m a Scot living in Beijing China and I love tuning in for these virtual home comforts.
That looks like a good weeks worth of food. My current profile pic (at time of this video) is a Roulade I made for dinner tonight. I butterflied and flattened a big Chicken breast, roll it around a Chestnut stuffing nice and tight using Clingfilm, unrolled the film, wrapped it in Smokey Bacon, rolled it tight again in Clingfilm, poached it in the film for 20 minutes, then unwrapped again and Browned if in a pan, let it rest and made my gravy then in that pan, served with New potatoes and Carrot/Swede mash. 🙏
My late Dad was from County Durham and I grew up loving kippers. I've never had the courage to try black pudding. I'm wondering what it tastes like? I don't like sausage. Always nice to see your travels. 🇨🇦
Good evening Cheryl, all meals looked lovely as always, definitely a pasta theme going on this week.👌 Loved the look of The Rum Doodle Hotel, a delightfully quirky wee room 😍 & breakfast served in your room is a definite bonus - with such gorgeous views to drink in.🥰 Glad that the weather improved for your stay! Thanks as always for sharing 🙏 Take care & have a great week. xx 👩🏻🍳💞💕🩷

Lake looks expensive and im from london lol. I would not pay £15 for a bolognese. You can literally make one for a family of 4 for under £15. You must have money to burn being sponsered.

Mmmmm! We pickle beets first, then pop in the peeled hard-boiled eggs when then beets are gone! The eggs turn a most beautiful pink.

That jacked potato filling 😮🤤🤤🤤🤤 looks amazingly yummy 😍
I think you call them banoffe waffles, is pretty close to bananas foster sans the flame.
Cheryl the hotel room looks lovely the food thier looked good,,but in my humble opinion,,your meals look soooo much more delicious.

It's so funny to me how different British bacon is from our American bacon...and '"pavement" in the UK is called "sidewalk" in the US...
