thank you so much for this channel. i live on the other side of the world but i have proud scottish heritage (mums father - burns) and remember so many of things "scots" from my childhood here in new zealand. mum did highland dancing as a young girl here, my grandad was the kindest most wonderful scottish man who taught me so much about life, and when i travelled to scotland in 1994 i just felt at home. even just listening to you talk is like being wrapped in a warm blanket. god bless you and mr "whats for tea".

Very jealous of the roll and bacon and square slice. Love your dedication to Scots style with the beans and chips. Been in America 50 years but still stick to our Scottish heritage. We still have some Scots style butchers but miss the bakeries we used to have. Merry Christmas.🏴🇺🇸
Also was just checking this but I suppose maybe the houses are not has heated as they are say in Germany or in the east coast of the USA, so it feels very cold. Plus the rain makes it feel colder, I imagine!

Cheryl your soup, rolls & chips get me every time , just look dekicious. I have made your morning rolls before & they are so nice. Plenty of room inside to get plenty of filling in!! Fish cakes & chips are my choice if i haveva chippy meal, ( that or battered coe roe, i love those) but i do need a pot of chippy gravy on the side, especially if its nice & thick, to dip. Loads of salt & vinegar on the chips & fish as well. Very fancy doing your stuffing in a cookie cutter, looked nice with the chicken on top.

Great to see your snowy intro again! Cold here in Salt Lake City,b but no snow! Loved mince n tattles, and a piece & sausage. The recipe I wish I had from my Gran is a clothe dumpling. Used to watch her make it in her tiny Girvan kitchen! Merry Christmas!
I did have a wee chuckle to myself when you said your granny made the best mince… I have to disagree because MY granny made the best mince! 😂 I think it’s one way to tell that somebody grew up Scottish, because the majority of us will have somebody in our family/past who we thought made the best mince. For me it was my granny, and for my boyfriend it was his mother. I think mince and tatties is something ingrained in the Scots psyche, and we’re all fiercely proud of it! 😂
Having just moved here, I’ve not found it too cold, but for today it was wet n cold, I made our first Scottish breakfast this morning, square sausage potato cakes black pudding and haggis, it was delicious x have a great week

Love Sundays at this time. Those rolls with square slice and back bacon looked so good. I really miss those. I do make your square slice from time to time and have actually made my own back bacon. So much better than some the stuff I’ve bought here in the US. Use the recipe from an Irish chef who has restaurants here in Alexandria Va. Fish cake supper. I’ve never seen that before.
