    FYI on the food. Get or make an insulated cozy to keep the meal warm while heating up and add olive oil which is the highest calorie per ounce food you can carry plus tastes good!

    Great video!!! Love the content and I’m a long time backpacker but new to bikepacking. One tip for winter backpacking I always used is take a Nalgene bottle for winter. You can keep water from freezing easier with them and at night boil some water and pour it in the Nalgene, I am a cold sleeper and if my feet are cold I’ll never get sleep so you can put the bottle sealed tight at the foot box of your bag and it will stay hot long after you get to sleep. You’re not wasting water as it’s good for the am and it beats using up hot hands hand warmers that you have to pack out.

    To prevent cold feet caused by moisture building up in boots or shoes, I now use Akileïne powder spray. It prevents feet from sweating - works great to keep feet warm.

    I like to keep air space in the toe of my neoprene socks, the air warms up inside and makes them a lot warmer. I wear them outside my socks and upsize 1 to 2 shoe sizes. I want to go to fat camp!

    Wow. Learned a lot in this one for sure. Looking at a fat bike for here in Vermont. Just had a new trail open below my house. Hopefully next winter I'll be out and about. The workshop looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for the video and take care, Al

    It's going to be - 28 Celsius or -18 Fahrenheit on Saturday and I never cycled in those temperatures before . Minus 15 Celsius is my limit but I may try colder but extreme cold affects my lungs .

    • @DirtyTeethMTB
      @DirtyTeethMTB  Год назад

      When it’s that cold I usually have a buff or cold avenger mask over my mouth to warm and humidify the air/my breath so it’s easier on my lungs… ride on!!

    I love dual zipper concept. Any recommendations on jackets or tops?

    • @DirtyTeethMTB
      @DirtyTeethMTB  Год назад +1

      Many of the PedalEd jerseys have dual zips... and I know Rebecca's Velocio soft shell does... not a deal-breaker, but it's good to keep in mind when you're deciding between different articles/brands, etc... ride on!!

    Maybe it's too noob for this level but hot water nalgene in the sleeping bag footbox is clutch
