In November, I hit my five-year soberversary, and if I were going to credit one thing for helping me, it'd be La Croix sparkling water- particularly the Pamplemousse flavor! During Texas summers, it rages into a twelve-pack a day habit. Thus, the "Hold my Pamplemousse" cargo strap is the coolest thing ever, and you can bet I'll be ordering some!!

Socks are the ultimate gift
1. You can never have too many and everyone needs them
2. They only come in 3 sizes, so you cant get it wrong
3. They come in a range of prices and quality
4. If the receiver thinks they're ugly they can easily hide them under their pant legs.
5. They're good for any season.

Something I tried this summer in Scotland is Waterproof Socks. Showers Pass and Endura. Better than I could have imagined. I use them back country skiing with a silk liner sock. Kept me warm and dry in 35F, high wind, horizontal rain days in the middle of the Highlands. There's a little bit of give within the sock, so no blisters or hot spots skiing. Give 'em a try and see if they appear on next years list. Enjoy your down to earth approach. Well, maybe not. When you think about it, down to earth is not a good thing when cycling. Love the Dispatch Top Cap. They don't mail to Canada, but maybe I'll get one sent to family in the US when I visit next. Thanks for this post.

You get a like and a subscribe because I have already bought several of these things for myself, like the Merino wool necktube and Buff Coolnet UV necktube, and the ski straps. Voile are expensive to get shipped here to Poland/EU, nobody really carries them, so I go with FixPlus from Germany. Incredibly useful! Great ideas.

Question on fred bar? When I bought my cutthroat I had mechanics leave my steerer tube as long as it came. I presently running my stem all the way up. Confused on how I can use the fred bar?

Unfortunately, you’ll have to lower your stem to make room for Fred bars up above… I guess you could get a steerer extender too… best of luck!!

I used to raise my stem slightly higher when not using Fred bar/aerobars. But over time, I’ve just left them in the same spot and I’m still comfy.

Yes, there are times and places to pack out poo and you should plan ahead… but, “In most locations, burying human feces in the correct manner is the most effective method to meet these criteria.” - quoted from Leave No Trace dot org -

Most say if you’re tough enough to hike,bike,climb, etc…you’re tough enough to pack it out. In recent years the number of adventurers has risen so much the land can’t handle that many cat holes.
