Nice to see you back dude
great to be back!
Glad to see Dirty Teeth is Back. :) Your videos are Always Entertaining and Informative.
Thanks 🙏 appreciate it!
Great to see you back Alan although it sucks to hear about Jay's accident. Big love to all from the UK #rideforward ❤
Yeah it’s so sad that Jay got hit by a car. He’s like Iron Man, he’ll be back stronger than ever :)
Glad to see you back and that looks like one sweet ride. Looking forward to the series. Take care, Al
thanks for watching... thank goodness Jay is on the mend after that horrific car crash :) he's one tough cookie...
Love the project, the bike, the build, the rider and the charity. Go Jay!
ride on!! thanks for watching :)
Thanks Alan , I was hoping you would give us brief on this bike , well done ,and great to see Jay pouring years of thought and fine tuning in to a new approach for this endeavour, hope we get a debrief after the ride!
Go well Jay , have a great ride and we look forward to following your progress!
Miss ya, brother! Hope all is well 🤙
Good to see you back on the Tube Al. That bike looks fantastic. Been Dot watching eagerly, what a beast Mike Hall was.
Much Love Ed
Thanks for watching, Ed! Praying Jay has a quick and full recovery ❤️🩹
Lookin forward to this ride. Thanks for the post👍💪
Have a great adventure!!!
Another great vid Jaco…sweet rig..Go Jay!
so bummed about Jay getting hit by a car, but he'll be back stronger than ever!
thank you for sharing!!! Sweet build!!
Glad you like it!
Your channel is a pretty good source of info. You deserve more Subs!
Haha thanks, you’re too kind :)
I love the idea of this bike. Freaking love it.
Yeah, it’s pretty cool - too bad it got demolished - praying for a quick and complete recovery for Jay 🙏
We miss you bro, I am always a fan of your content
Thanks so much!! 🤙
Glad to see you putting a video out!
What kind of conditions is he going to encounter this time of year? Opposed to riding in June.
Usually better temps/ no snow up north, but either way, hot hot hot down south… but also shorter days, etc … but he got caught in plenty of peanut butter mud so… flip a coin - hoot!
Amazing. Seeing this as I ride the GDMBR, currently in Pinedale. With a little luck, I may meet toward the end of the route.
hope your ride is going great!
@@DirtyTeethMTB oh it was outstanding
Winner winner chicken dinner. JayP can fall sleep while pedaling on that comfy stretched Esker.
it is kind of like a stretch limo :) ride on!
There are some cool bits on that bike.
there sure are :)
I am not in JP league. I recently did the European Divide Trail in Eastern Europe all on dirt roads in dust and mud ( lots of mud ) it’s 3000km ( so not USA distances ) from Baltic to the Adriatic. My key kit was electronic shift on my bike. Regardless of the weather it shifted regardless of the mud ( once I could move the bike ) it operated. Fantastic options and I set it up like JP’s but without the extra brake leavers ( I think that’s a great idea on steep
Declines ) best of luck to JP his stuff is inspiring and I am glad Dirty Teeth is back online very much too.
Thanks for chiming in:) glad you enjoyed!!
Interesting that the Red Shift grips were mounted horizontal (at 6:30 into video). The ergonomic position for these is have them at about 45 degrees. The wrist are in a more natural (ergonomic) position that way. I'll be looking to see if get rotated before the ride gets going.
I don't even tighten them down! I move them to what's comfortable at the time.
Thanks for trailblazing this route Jay. Can't wait to beat your time, really looking forward to you making more routes in the U.S. more popular. Would love to see you work your magic here in Eastern Virginia. I seem to be one of the only ones out here, lol.
I kind of leave them loose as well... being able to change up hand positions is clutch
ugh! I just saw that Jay was struck by a car. Wish him a speedy recovery.
Thanks 🙏 we are all praying for him and Tracey 🤙
Holy moly.
haha!!
Awesome 🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
I am relieved that you are well, and where is that race report from your GREAT DIVIDE RACE, did you not¿ participate in this years race?
he was doing an ITT of the full GDMBR route... with the goal of setting a benchmark FKT... Jay did not participate in the Tour Divide Grand Depart this year - ride on!
That is some bike!
yeah it is!
So can increased stability of the bike really pay marginal gains it is yet to be seen.
I chatted with Jay about it, and after 2k miles, he seems quite happy with the bike’s performance and will be building another one to replace the destroyed one…
No dynamo seems like an oversight unless he’s not planning on doing full race days. Otherwise looks like a sweet bike!!
I have this weird feeling JayP knows what he is doing 😂
@@BorneoAgent he’s definitely done one or two of these lmao
It is called promoting
not an oversight... a choice... he has plenty of dynamo wheels and lights at his disposal if he wanted to go that route... he wasn't carrying a sleep kit and plan was to stay in hotels pretty much every night... plenty of charging opportunities between that and all the burger stops :) ride on!
Bro, that opening screaming, is that from Mount & Blade videogame?
Wow you figured it out 🤙
You could fit the world's largest seat pack on that seat stay.
Yeah you can !!!
I bet that beastie descends great! Probably keeps rear wheel traction on the loose climbs better too?
From everything I heard before he got hit, the bike was everything he hoped for- praying for a full recovery and to ride bikes with Jay again soon 🙏🙏
Any news? Sounds so bad, just terrible.@@DirtyTeethMTB
@whirving he’s doing better- but long road to recovery
I had an accident in March and am still recovering, not as bad as his but damn. It's rough. Thinking of him during the dark times. @@DirtyTeethMTB
@@whirvingsorry to hear about your accident- hope you’re fully recovered soon!!!
Is this route different than the Tour Divide?
Sometimes yes; sometimes no.
The Tour Divide uses Adventure Cycling Association's Great Divide Mountain Bike Route but has developed some alternates through the years and starts in Banff.
The route actually starts in Jasper. 370 miles north of Banff.
One of the goals of the film is to explain some of this confusion and highlight ACA.
@@jaypetervary5358 Cool, I knew of the CDT from backpacking, and just learned of the Tour Divide this year after it had started(two days into this years) so I wasn't sure. Good luck on the FKT. It's a hell of an achievement just finishing it much less blasting it for a record.
welcome back, I'm designing something along these lines, I have a Salsa Blackborow to carry our dog and its sowed a seed in my mind for a new frame. Long live the midtail. Anyway, great to see you back, we've missed you. ❤
would love to see your dog packing bike when it's all set up :) ride on!
Those teeth looked pretty damn clean brother. Got me worried
Haha thanks for watching 🤙😂
did he not use to ride singlespeed and sponsors hated it?
I don't ever remember Jay riding SS... but maybe?
Jay could win this race on a Brompton.
Haha 😂
I wonder how the bike survived the crash? We know how Jay is, but I’m curious about the bike.
Believe it or not, the bike looks worse than Jay. Thank goodness Jay is alive and not paralyzed.
It’s hard to fathom the distances these people are doing on a bike during a race. I’m a mountain biker and on a good week I’ll hit 100+ plus miles.
Solid. 100 more miles then most rest of the world!
My biggest week ever was 200 dirt miles. I was absolutely worked. These riders are on a whole other level.
@@jaypetervary5358 You sir are an absolute beast on two wheels. I’ve enjoyed every appearance, especially on the fat bike content.
100 mtb miles per week = winning :) ride on!
The world is not ready for midtail… Like they were not ready for 29er wheels.
you said it :) ride on!
i looks far to long and strange.
Thanks for sharing :)
