Another argument that they throw is Kimiko not even moving Sam because of his strength when in reality, Kimiko's power isn't even strength and she struggled against Shapeshifter. Her main power is regeneration and not strength, she might be above average compared to humans but nowhere near compared to strength based heroes like Maeve, Homelander, and in this case, Sam.
I do think it's fair to add that Sam was having a pretty intense mental and emotional breakdown during the fight and he likely didn't want to hurt his newly made friends, especially Emma. I don't think he fought even near his 100% capacity

The scaling within the boys universe are often in accurate. For instance, with it being stated that Homelander would be able to survive a nuclear blast, and yet yet Solider Boys punches were enough to hurt and bruise Homelander. And for obvious reason that doesn't means that Solider Boy can punch at the same tons of force the impact of a nuke can. Cause if he could, that time in where he would've completely killed Hughie that time he punched him in the face (Of course he didn't punch him as hard as he did to Homelander, but my point still stands). To be fair a few kiloton nuke would be enough to kill any character from the boys. Soldier boy was cut by small building level heat vision and felt pain each time he unleashed his building level nuke. Homelander's best feat is surviving a city block chemical explosion. Vought lies about their heroes. Nukes only reach millions of degrees for a fractiom of a second. A direct hit from a neutron bomb would most definitely be enough to incapitate homelander.

Forget golden boy. What about cate? Cate could trick homelander by getting close to him, and the second she touches him, she can make him do to himself whatever she wants. All she need to do is get close and touch him. Cates the dark horse of the entire franchise. Cates in homelanders league, if not in her own was just as powerful. Sam was meant to be the stronger brother, and he didn't quite seem himself when restraining kimiko at the end of season 4. He seemed very emotionally withdrawn as if he wasn't being himself, and he was with cate at the time. Homelander is a top tier supe. He is the strongest, but we've seen throughout the series that there's a few that can or could stand their ground against him in a fight. Soldier boy, temp v butcher, and ryan. Then there's other supes with bizarre and unique abilities that are also very dangerous, but just uncontrollable. Hughies father became one of such when he became a supe. Hughies dad could've been a serious threat to homelander if the boys or cia were involved.

The scaling within the boys universe are often in accurate. For instance, with it being stated that Homelander would be able to survive a nuclear blast, and yet yet Solider Boys punches were enough to hurt and bruise Homelander. And for obvious reason that doesn't means that Solider Boy can punch at the same tons of force the impact of a nuke can. Cause if he could, that time in where he would've completely killed Hughie that time he punched him in the face (Of course he didn't punch him as hard as he did to Homelander, but my point still stands). Even Queen Meave was able to make Homelander bleed from her punches alone.

Vought lies about their heroes. Nukes only reach millions of degrees for a fractiom of a second. A direct hit from a neutron bomb would most definitely be enough to incapitate homelander.

Forget golden boy. What about cate? Cate could trick homelander by getting close to him, and the second she touches him, she can make him do to himself whatever she wants. All she need to do is get close and touch him. Cates the dark horse of the entire franchise. Cates in homelanders league, if not in her own was just as powerful. Sam was meant to be the stronger brother, and he didn't quite seem himself when restraining kimiko at the end of season 4. He seemed very emotionally withdrawn as if he wasn't being himself, and he was with cate at the time.
Homelander is a top tier supe. He is the strongest, but we've seen throughout the series that there's a few that can or could stand their ground against him in a fight. Soldier boy, temp v butcher, and ryan. Then there's other supes with bizarre and unique abilities that are also very dangerous, but just uncontrollable. Hughies father became one of such when he became a supe. Hughies dad could've been a serious threat to homelander if the boys or cia were involved.

From what we've seen in show their durability is relatively equal. Their "powers" however are different and Homelander feared soldier boy's V destroying blast.

You stated that an Atomic Bomb is what they were referring to but it is in fact a Hydrogen Bomb and the way I know is because Atomic Bombs are measured in Kilotons and Hydrogen Bombs are measured in Megatons. One Kiloton is equal to 1,000 tons of TNT and one Megaton is equal to 1,000,000 tons of TNT.
