The only reason space crafts heat up on re-entry is to slow down in a cheap way, that doesn't require fuel. It is entirely possible to enter the atmosphere at a low speed without ever experiencing ANY heat.
The whale incident with Hancock also puts him way above Homelander. Two tiny hand sized clamps on the tail lifted the whale, rather than tearing out chunks of flesh. That would only occur with some form of tactile telekinesis. Hancock extends some sort of safety or kinetic or gravitic field around and within things he touches, when he wants to (Had he done it consciously, he probably could have stopped the train without denting it) Ditto when Hancock tosses the kid in the air then catches him. Homelander claims he couldn't lift the plane without punching through it. Tactile telekinesis could be on par with heat vision. Lift up a 100 ton boulder and swat Homelander with it. Or just hold an aluminum bat that you are supporting with your field.
hancock definitely could’ve stopped the train without damage occurring.. he just dgaf lol remember he was drunk most of the time.. until he learned different
I respect your attempt and your message was clear enough for the lazy layman but I had to rewrite to make it more concise, here is my version of your message: @charlesgbertrand 5 days ago The whale incident puts Hancock above Homelander. Two human sized hands lifted the whale by its tail alone, and rather than tearing out chunks of flesh as one naturally expects rhe force over area or "cut" formula would normally produce, especially at that level of force being exerted and at that rate of exertion. Such counterintuitive application of force, would only occur through use of "tactile telekinesis" which is an idiot's phrase for what happens in using Superman-like aura. This "Superman" aura flowes out of the user in binding together the structure of whatever the user grasps, reinforcing the integrity(toughness, endurance) of the lifted object or person or animal through perfect distribution of any exerted force(so that no harm comes to the subject). Such an aura envelopes the entire surface area of whatever the user touches, even if the overall area of the touch is millions of times larger than the surface area of the contact point between user's body and said item, person or animal being lifted. Hancock either chose not to deploy this same aura or didn't have time to properly focus the flow of his kinesiology to generate the same effect but he sure did when tossing the French "bully" kid high into the air before safely catching him. Homelander claims he couldn't lift the plane without punching through it. This is either because he lacks the finesss to tactfully flow with reroute its vector into a safe crash landing or because he lacked the energy required to do so. It is more likely he chose not to do so, as reflection of his impatient and cruel personality hindering him from being so gentle, since he is a caricature designed to incite POC hate for the fiction of "racist White man" with all his so called "supremacy." "Tactile telekinesis could be on par with heat vision" - I suspect you mean the aura can block heat beams. It can, only if the aura is generated by someone with greater power than the user of the heat ray directed at them. "Lift up a 100 ton boulder and swat Homelander with it." - !? You mean Hancock can do this, yes, he can and much more. You can tell just by his flying to the moon within minutes. It serves as proof of the foce his body can generate and withstand, he seems to be strong as Justice League Superman when he goes full out and has been supercharged by the sun to have the effect of barely holding back the heat rays in his overcharged eyes that glow a sinister red. Note: "Consciously" is idiot for "by choice" or "by volition(will aka desire)," idiot because all things are done via the mind or "kawn-shush-lee-uh" as you mouth-breathers misspeak the already incorrect word. Things done through raw impulse do not feel like your will but they are the result of processes within you "consciousness" aka "mind," not "un-kawn-shush-lee-uh" which means "not of the mind." You mouth-breathers are dim in pretending that some actions flowing through your psyche are "not of your mind" just because they are "subconscious" actions. That is not the case, they are indeed of your mind aka "consciousness" so stop your slopy flow of noise in "kawn-shush-lee-uh" this and that. This ugly and common noise is the main reason why I had to correct your otherwise 5/10 sentence structure that is only half worthless embellishment or hype poised as reasoning. *Your concluding paragraph was painful so I took the only useful parts and fixed them to make sense within context of your intent to compare the two characters.* I am not trying to incite any hate, just correcting common confusion with how words are supposed to be used, if clear communication is your aim.
As long as hancock isn't around his mate, he is immortal and invulnerable. His ex wife just says it outright. Also they both were struck by lightning, which is 5x hotter than the surface of the sun. Hancock stomps homelander while not even being sober.
This here is the only true answer. Homelander no matter how strong can't compete with immortal and invulnerable. Eventually homelander succumbs to Hancock's assault
He shaped a metal dish with his fingernails. That might be a small detail but it shows the incredible hardness of his body. At the bare minimum his fingernails are as hard as carbide cutting bits. Homelander on the other hand can be slowed down by Soldier Boy shield which is made of steel.
I am surprised you didn't think Hancock can no Sell the Heat vison. The fact he was able to Leave Earths Atmosphere needing the force and speed to do so and THEN come back upon re-entry into Earth and the heat you would experience is probably on par if not hotter than Homelanders Heat vision.
@@QuietBob True, but Homelander's lasers aren't as destructive as an entire freight train barrelling towards you at 10 mph. That is much more destructive than an hydraulic press. And an hydraulic press big enough to do it would also completely destroy a rocket.
@@QuietBobNot a good comparison. The parts of rockets that are exposed to the most friction have heat sheilding but insulation doesn’t mean armor rating. They put styrofoam on the space shuttle exterior.
He also went to the sun in that clip and came back to eat ice cream. Both an incredible feat of strength, durability, and resilience. Too be fair Homelander has survived feats that should have made him not bleed by that. The show is very inconsistent in feats of strength and speed. @@ereb0s416 I think he were probably inspired by Aeons. They were made in couples (always male and female) and togeather they could create things that were perfect within "pleroma", the region of light. They were beings of godly power or maybe more, and could emanate things and other aeons, that could exist in the "Hyperuranus", an existence of perfection more like paradise. They were above Yaweh (also called Yaldabaoth or the Demiurge, the half-creator) because he was emanated by only one aeon (sophia), and wasn't ment to exist. The first Aeon ("The One", "Bythos" or "The Monad" and many other names) was the only Aeon who is two aeon in one entity. Because of Demiurge evil tendency and envy towards humanity, the first Aeon emanate two other aeon to save humanity from his grasp and allow them to return to the Hyperuranus, guiding them through the right path. You may find this seeking for "Aeon (gnosticism)".
The fact that Maeve was able to shove a metal straw into Homelander's ear and it actually went through and didn't just break against his eardrum should be all the evidence we need.
I think that's why the straw didn't go all the way through, because his actual brain, muscles, organs, and bones are a lot more durable than his flesh.
Another fact: We have seen Hancock take a punch from Mary Embrey, his counterpart, and shake it off. Next, according to the Blu Ray commentary, the wind and lightening during the Handcock/Embrey fight were their physical powers at full strength. Embrey's being wind and Hancock being lightening. It only comes out when fighting at full power. So Hancock does have a counter to Homelander's heat vision. Finally, Hancock is immortal at over 3000 years, and Homelander is aging at 41 years old. He is getting wrinkles and developing grey hairs, which he hides. We can assume that as Homelander continues to age, his powers will dwindle. While Hancock's powers will remain as long as he and Mary Embrey don't decide to pair up and relinquish their godly powers.
Don’t forget Hancock also went to the friggin sun and came back to eat ice cream… the sun… it takes light 8 minutes to travel there… he survives subzero space, as well as the sun’s temperature. Homelander’s heat vision wouldn’t hurt him, and he STILL has that lightning power too…? Jeeeez it’s not even fair.
@@Sleepy_16 no, the opposite. The further away he is, the more his powers work. The closer he is, the weaker he gets (but only after a while, not immediately)

He's not that powerful compared to most of them. There's a good argument that he is closer to Spider-Man in strength than Superman and a good chance that the thing (From the comics not the movies) is stronger than him too. For context, Superman held a black hole in his hands once in the 00's. The movie Superman isn't as strong, but he stomps Homelander there, too. However, I will say some things do get overlooked when it comes to Homelander. He doesn't just hear pulses but has stated the speed it is going at. He did it to Stan Edgar, which tells me his mind has a high speed and accuracy. The accuracy also shown in distinguishing Butcher's exact scent on Maeve. Vought probably steered him away from his cognitive potential because that's the last thing they would want him on top of.
Ultimately what carries super heroes through is their mentality. Homelander doesn't have it so would fail against anyone near to his power level who can give him a fight.
I've said this before, but Homelander is the definition of "big fish in a small pond." If he was in Marvel comics, he'd he barely above street level villains.
@@yuanxiu37 Spiderman, Black widow, Hawkeye, Captain America none bulletproof. Homelander would rip right through Iron mans suits easily. Guardians of the Galaxy stand no chance. Homelander is mid-high in Marvel verse.
It's been said in the DVD director's commentary, that Hancock was injured in the distant past. Injured heavily enough to put him in a coma and wake up with amnesia. Because of that Hancock doesn't know the full extent of his powers. So, he just uses the ones he could figure out by accident, strength, speed, durability, and flight(and in a scene that was cut, supersonic ejaculation powerful enough to punch through a trailer roof).
And throughout the movie Hancock is actually not at 100% because of his proximity to her. At the movie's end when he does the moon thing he is across the planet from her and truly powered up.
Hancock was an alcoholic because he was suffering from extreme depression. One of the best scenes of the movie was when he was looking over the movie tickets for two, which was the only memory he had thinking he was abandoned by someone he loved. He actually does have morals he’s pretty much just acting out from depression and anger, but he never really seriously hurts anyone.
The argument that 'all weapons' includes nukes is dumb, a large part of the series is that Vought don't have any government power or military power, it would make no sense that they could have access to nukes, and there is no proof that nukes have been used on him. 'All weapons' is just a hyperbole
Well if Queen Mave can stab him in the ear with a pencil and Soldier boy can bruise his face then he can definitely be hurt and both of those attacks were no were near as powerful as a nuclear bomb so I honestly doubt he would survive a nuke
Stillwell was trying to intimidate Butcher when she said that. She's obviously lying. The idea of why they want to "research a weapon capable of harming soldier boy" is in the spirit of minizing collateral damage. The army absolutely HAS weapons capable of putting Soldier Boy and Homelander down. They just don't want to do it in the middle of a populated city - he may have killed a few dozen people, but we're talking about potentially losing thousands, here. And they don't want to take the risk to force Homelander into an isolated place, because then he turns openly hostile and that would go bad.
The statement is obviously bullshit. But unfortunately, too many idiots believe it when the series outright debunked it with Season 3 and the pathetic damage output of Butcher, Homelander and Maeve.

2:28 Homelander says it himself, and it is a commentary on applying physics to superhero shows. Ofc he is strong enough to lift something as heavy as this plane, but if you would put enough force to lift a plane on a small surface like a hand, the hand would go right through the plane ripping it apart.
There are strengthened points on a plane, like the undercarriage, that can take the weight of the plane. You put your back under the nose wheel and prop it up. Sure, the Superman scene where he catches the plane by the nose cone (which is just a cover for the radar dish) is hokum, but a super of Superman's class could support a plane into a controlled emergency landing. He could even take it all the way to the ground without getting crushed between the plane and the Earth.

There is also the thing that Hancock has fought through multiple near death situations and Homelander has maybe like a handful, if you count that initial fight vs Soldierboy. Maeve sure gave him one but still. Hancock is more of a warrior than Homelander and also has a lot more experience than Homelander even with his amnesia.

The whale incident puts Hancock above Homelander.
It is more likely he chose not to do so, as reflection of his impatient and cruel personality hindering him from being so gentle, since he is a caricature designed to incite POC hate for the fiction of "racist White man" with all his so called "supremacy."
"Tactile telekinesis could be on par with heat vision" - I suspect you mean the aura can block heat beams.
Note:
"Consciously" is idiot for "by choice" or "by volition(will aka desire)," idiot because all things are done via the mind or "kawn-shush-lee-uh" as you mouth-breathers misspeak the already incorrect word. Things done through raw impulse do not feel like your will but they are the result of processes within you "consciousness" aka "mind," not "un-kawn-shush-lee-uh" which means "not of the mind."
You mouth-breathers are dim in pretending that some actions flowing through your psyche are "not of your mind" just because they are "subconscious" actions.
*Your concluding paragraph was painful so I took the only useful parts and fixed them to make sense within context of your intent to compare the two characters.*
I am not trying to incite any hate, just correcting common confusion with how words are supposed to be used, if clear communication is your aim.

The fact that Maeve was able to shove a metal straw into Homelander's ear and it actually went through and didn't just break against his eardrum should be all the evidence we need.

@@DvstyDom Yeah, like when they went to give Hancock a shot with a needle and it bent against his skin...which, but that's a needle though, I guess.
Don’t forget Hancock also went to the friggin sun and came back to eat ice cream… the sun… it takes light 8 minutes to travel there… he survives subzero space, as well as the sun’s temperature. crazy how homelander lose to all superman copys
he is by far the weakest copy. But to be fair like danco said he lives in a more grounded universe
@@masterbaraman9372 Also we don't really know how strong he is, as there is never a situation where he would need all that power.

One of the best scenes of the movie was when he was looking over the movie tickets for two, which was the only memory he had thinking he was abandoned by someone he loved.

Soulja Boy was the first rapper to beef with homelander.
The argument that 'all weapons' includes nukes is dumb, a large part of the series is that Vought don't have any government power or military power, it would make no sense that they could have access to nukes, and there is no proof that nukes have been used on him. 'All weapons' is just a hyperbole
The radiation would fry the compound v genetics from his body
Let's not forget that they have a supe who uses radiation to drain v from their bodies. The whole nuke thing just doesn't make sense.
The statement is obviously bullshit. But unfortunately, too many idiots believe it when the series outright debunked it with Season 3 and the pathetic damage output of Butcher, Homelander and Maeve.

Hankcock is by far my favorite Superhero movie, just because the guy with powers is relatable😂
first time someone ever never sided with any thing and gave facts
nice one mate❤
He's defiantly living on a spectrum, granting him god know what. It's in the mass-up showing that if Hancock doesn't want to be moved then there's pretty much nothing that's earthly bound can do about it. Dude basically turned himself into an organic version of Mjolnir, protecting both the ground he's standing on which is absurd while in the next he's drunken superhero landing and destroying the pavement upon impact which leads everyone to believe that he has to see the assault coming to defend with that invisible wall level defense which apparently extends it's self even on to the ground he's standing on. Comicbook BS science tends to even leak into live action. Hancock WINS.
Hancock's sunglasses and cap survive the train wreck unscathed. That's the part that make me think he has no idea how powerful he really is.
hancock cant be beat unless another god is there
Dumb comment and cap.....here's some cope
okay sugarfoot
@@Googleisstupid-sk3hmIt said so in the movie
@@Googleisstupid-sk3hmbro that's...that's literally the story behind them....like they are invulnerable when not near each other
@@Googleisstupid-sk3hmThe farther he is from his other half (or in this case, ex wife), the more powerful they are, if they're nowhere near each other, they are virtually invincible
This made me wanna watch Hancock again just to watch him mess up on his heroics
there is a reason why he couldnt carry the plane he would literally rip through the fuselage and he acknowledge it that's not how physics works you cant concentrate the force required to lift an aircraft and keep it moving in the area of his palms, back or even whole body he'd just rip straight through the aircraft
he could have just pushed the plane foreward… or cut off some of the extra waight and carried off the passangers…
@@exodiaexodusCarried of the passengers where?
Hancock will win
Hancock has near Superman levels of strength. Hancock even beats Omniman
Yeah Hancock is a near god, a being from a higher dimension. While Homelander is a genetic engineered human, created in a lab by a .7 civilization on the Kasdashev scale. I'm going with the being from the higher dimension for the win.
@@sterlingsimmons2212 It hinted that he is actually Ares in the movie...so not a near god, but an actual god.
@@Jake-cm9jj the freaking god of war😂😂😂😂😂
@@merihimsolomon2331Which version of Superman lol. Definitely not the most powerful versions.
Hancock could do to Homelander what Homelander can do to normal people. It wouldn't even be a fight.
"Ogs always wins"
A wise guy
The bus one, it just seemed like he was standing and the floor under him gave out
Nick Cage became Superman before GTA 6
Hancock is immortal when his mate isn't around. As for Superman taking the hit from a train car thrown at him.. it was a hit he wasn't expecting.. If he was expecting it.. I say would have been the same.. As for this fight.. Hancock wins..
@Reaper1008 He was also flying, allowing himself to be pushed even more since there was no resistance to stop him. But yeah. Hancock vs. DCEU Superman is a much fairer battle than this one-sided beat down.
@@theminerwithin9316 that would be a battle I would like to see.
for that fight to work and be fair you need hancock’s former partner and even if superman wins there is now an invulnerable pissed off white woman
@@Jamlord2061
"Superman! I've come to talk to your manager."
You'd probably only have to hold Hancock's beer for a minute,
if that. 🤣🤣
8:20 he went from really to weally 😂😂😂😂
Superman vs hancock
DCEU Superman? That's actually a decent fight. Comics Superman? No. Absolutely not.
Hancock
@@theminerwithin9316 sounds like cap....God's dc usually overpower superman...Hancock is a the god..the superman god...do the math.
@@Googleisstupid-sk3hmsuperman had beaten gods in comics and he has better feat than hancock , superman broke through infinite realities just by flying through them and shook an infinite sized dimensionless realm lol not to mention his fight with another superman from another universe / timeline was destroying spacetime continuum hancock is outmatched badly here also superman is a descendant of kryptonian most powerful sun god ( rao's ) making him a super god as well

Homelander Vs Meteor Man
BRUH now THAT i want a breakdown of.
Meteor Man easily.
Dude....
@@ZackSNetworkNot really mentor man needs green rock and use of his powers drain him......Hancock limits himself. Every since he was beat in pass due to be with wife..he mental blocks himself..
Hancock's immortal 😂
Danco everytime he has to make a script for homelander *copy* *paste*
