Harvey Specter taught me that "When somebody points a gun at your head, you have a million other possibilities" Yeah....that won't work with Homelander.
Every line he says isn’t powerful. It’s just another verbal confirmation of his insecurities as a human being that he knows he’s not ever in control in his own mind. It's how amazing the actor is that makes us just.... HATE the character this much. But in the best possible way. The show would be 1/4 as good if it wasn't for the character and the actor. Not physical power, but social power? I haven't seen the show but it looks like the only reason he gets away with his behavior is because he's a superhero.
You shouldn't feel sorry for him. I don't. Despite his sad past, the guy's beyond salvation. All the shit he did doesn't excuse him with his past. What pisses me off is how in the last episode, Butcher just goes 180 degrees on the deal just so we can have a season 4.
you definitely shouldnt feel bad for him, you miss the entire point if you do that because he has clearly shown time and time again he doesnt care about making up for his wrongs and is morally and ethically irredeemable
14:09 I truly believe he respected and valued Noir above all others except for maybe Maeve (before she told him she hated him). He seems to really be troubled about killing Noir as he shows it in the scene itself and mentions it time and time again after.
“ She came 3 times aye” I know homelander is invincible but I would of just died about that there, I’m surprised butcher didn’t charge at him for that comment, so cold 🥶
Ironically the most evil Homelander moments are when he's just being an ahole. Cause when he's murdering someone or obliterating hordes of people it isn't relatable to us. But when he calls A train fat or makes Ashley take off her wig showing the result of her stress pulling her hair, he's really like relatable evil. Kind of like Dolores Umbridge vs Voldermort. Voldermort is more evil but Umbridge is more hated cause it's more personal
It's kind of what Stalin used to say, "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic." The one death hits harder because you can understand and relate to that. One is a small number, it's easy to understand. A sufficiently large number of deaths is very hard to comprehend, and it's almost impossible to picture in your head such a number of people, let alone feel sorry for each and every one of them. We're not monsters, it's just that our emotions have their limits. And a million is a very large number that goes way above our emotional capacity to understand and empathise.
@@mirceazaharia2094wtf are you saying? So if everyone I know die now I will be less sorry than just one friend? I must be wrong but I think what you trying to say is that we "know" one people and can relate to them so we get more "impact" than millions of unknown people dying somewhere, right?

I haven’t been this tense when someone is on screen since Javier Bardem in “No Country for Old Men”. Anthony Starr is a menace as Homelander. He makes me just as uneasy as if someone unhinged with that kind of power was real and in the same room.
Too lazy, maybe I'll look it up later, but there's an interview with the cast where they're asked who is most like their character. Everybody said Anthony lmfaooo
Well after the season 3 finale it's because Butcher is a hypocrite and was more concerned with protecting his wife's rape child (who is also a walking WMD) than saving the entire human race.
I don't think I have ever seen a greater casting choice than Antony Starr for homelander. I didn't know him before the boys, but he is definitely the best guy for the job.
