I think a moment that really made this show stand out for me is how Butcher and Frenchie react to and handle things when they see that Hughie killed Translucent. Their not Congratulating him like FRAT Bros like "you just blew him up,fucking sick bro!" Or calling him a pussy for how he appears to be in shock after committing his first murder and being covered in guts. They legitimately see this dude is literally in Shock from having Committed a murder and they just go "hey man,let us handle the mess. Just relax and go clear your head."
Hughie is the shining light in this show. He is the small ounce of hope in this world of lust, greed, and malice that keeps me watching. Jack Quaid deserves more credit for his performance.
Yeah as useful as the money would he in this slave life we all have. It takes stronger character to stand above that chump change (may be a lot to us but it isnt much in the eyes of the elite) and stand for what's right and not being silenced for someone innocent dying.

i kinda miss when they took down supes detective and strategic style. it was a lot more grounded and i particularly loved it when frenchie was using his chemist background cooking stuff up to break supes
Well they did try to tear gas Soldier Boy...and it didn't work. They tried to melt Victoria with acid....and it didn't work. New threats, new strategies
I know they don’t follow the comics but I somehow feel they’re going to keep the ending for butcher and make Hughie be the one to end butcher. And it’s going to be real fucked up and sad.
Man i hope they dont end with the comic ending, it will be so tragic because Butcher and Hughie have the best relationship in the show. But something tells me it will definitely be along the same lines

Only Hughie is left who goes to stop Butcher and they fight both getting critically injured. Butcher knows hes lost but would rather die than goto prison, so he lies to Hughie and says he killex his family, pushing Hughie over edge and he kills Butcher.
In the TV show, they made even the shit-bag supes much more sympathetic, compared to the comic book versions. So hopefully they end with Butcher getting just as much of a likeability upgrade@@LuxsorFlare

Watching this clips of the earlier seasons really made me realize what was that something I felt the show lacks currently, I feel like it's getting a bit too close to the comics in the trying to get shock value for the sake of it, I really don't see s4 treating the mention of rape as something as heavy as it is, in fact, they just made fun of it in last week's episode when it happened to Hughie
I really like how from the very first time they meet you can tell that butcher is reminded of his brother by Hughie. He has this sort of familiarity with him I find really heartwarming.

It's a bit unfortunate that Hughie doesn't get to keep his powers, similar to Butcher his, but I guess the two of them would be unbelievably broken currently if they did... but who knows, considering Compound V was being tested on adults, it wouldn't surprise me if a strain of it comes out in the future that they can steal that would give them the power without any of the possible deathly side effects of long term use.

There dynamic makes me think & realize the writers ditched the whole black noir clone arc but in the end i think butcher and the parasite will be too powerful to stop. leaving the only opening for crazed butcher or kessler to die is hughie. He will kill him and mirror the ending of the comics tragically. Whether or not butcher kills everyone else, i have no idea. But this is hughies main role now imo.

I can’t help but get the idea that Butcher was leaving Hughie as a scapegoat in case the Seven traced the bug back to somebody. But Hughie ripping the check in half made Butcher change his mind at the last second.
Hughie tearing up Vought’s check is almost definitely the moment Butcher decided he wanted him in the Boys. He was already probably making an effort to be gentler with Hughie then he is with most accomplices considering how much seeing someone so much like Lenny lose his girl to a Supe just like he hit close to home, but seeing someone that reminds him of the brother that was the one person he trusted to criticise him hating supes enough to refuse entertaining even the slightest comprise with them must have felt ridiculously vindicating. I think Butcher brought Hughie onto the team because he thought having somebody who hates Supes as much he does while also being much easier to trust could convince the old crew to go to extremes they’d refused to beforehand. Though ironically Hughie reacted to the Boys’ methods the same way Lenny probably would; convincing them to be less quick to violence as the first solution and more open to the possibility of Supe allies.

It's a bit unfortunate that Hughie doesn't get to keep his powers, similar to Butcher his, but I guess the two of them would be unbelievably broken currently if they did... but who knows, considering Compound V was being tested on adults, it wouldn't surprise me if a strain of it comes out in the future that they can steal that would give them the power without any of the possible deathly side effects of long term use.

There dynamic makes me think & realize the writers ditched the whole black noir clone arc but in the end i think butcher and the parasite will be too powerful to stop. leaving the only opening for crazed butcher or kessler to die is hughie. He will kill him and mirror the ending of the comics tragically. Whether or not butcher kills everyone else, i have no idea. But this is hughies main role now imo.

I can’t help but get the idea that Butcher was leaving Hughie as a scapegoat in case the Seven traced the bug back to somebody. But Hughie ripping the check in half made Butcher change his mind at the last second.

Hughie tearing up Vought’s check is almost definitely the moment Butcher decided he wanted him in the Boys.
He was already probably making an effort to be gentler with Hughie then he is with most accomplices considering how much seeing someone so much like Lenny lose his girl to a Supe just like he hit close to home, but seeing someone that reminds him of the brother that was the one person he trusted to criticise him hating supes enough to refuse entertaining even the slightest comprise with them must have felt ridiculously vindicating.
I think Butcher brought Hughie onto the team because he thought having somebody who hates Supes as much he does while also being much easier to trust could convince the old crew to go to extremes they’d refused to beforehand. Though ironically Hughie reacted to the Boys’ methods the same way Lenny probably would; convincing them to be less quick to violence as the first solution and more open to the possibility of Supe allies.
