Chuck was a genius, a master, and he accepted just genius and masters around him, musically. Every song created by them, is a masterpiece.

The coolest thing about death is he evolved his music and it matured with time from the gore stuff to realistic life with control denied hes a legend up there with Dimebag and Randy Rhoads , RIP CHUCK

the drummer is insanely good Aquiles Priester did a cover of this that was fantastic !!
Priester did a show-off cover where he included a lot of gratuitous fills. Yet he never achieves the elegance of Hoglan, he works the sticks as if they were shovel handles
He did the mechanic stuff. He never had Gene’s swing.

I'm the only one who is so impressed by the technical perfection of the whole band and in particular of that goddamm phenom called Billy Koelble? He put a fucking jazz guitar clinique in the solo of probably the most beautiful death metal song ever, obviously I'm not going to comment CHUCK'S GREATNESS for creating the entire gift to humaity called DEATH, because it's clear to everybody...
Youre not alone man. Bobby made only 3 solos on that album, but well... For me hes the best lead guitarist Chuck had on his albums and i didnt even knew him. That perennial quest solo...
You’re not alone. I’m primarily a guitarist but for me the cymbal work on the album blew me away. I know that sounds stupid but the drumming & especially the cymbals are something I’ve never f-ing heard in my life. The drumming is like a symphony going off all on it’s own. & yeah Bobby Koelble is phenomenal.

Have seen him live a couple of times! The last time on the last tour and in my opinion there is no band, that innovates their sound over the years! From Scream Bloody Gore to Spiritual it's getting more technical, and a few years later they added some progressive stuff! But they were always great! Cheers from Germany and stay healthy!
I got into Death at age 11 (1992 ish.) Changed my life for the better.. This album is a masterpiece.......... RIP Chuck, always sad I didn't get down to Ocala to meet you and jam! 🖤
