I'm insanely biased against Rudinger (I don't know why, you can totally hold that against me) so I'm tempted to say don't put Rudinger in the same sentence as Diepold. I know he's super talented, but Diepold's like the untouchable one in my head. Hell, the only drummer I could say that makes me question whether Diepold is a bigger of an insipiration than him is Gavin Harrison. Sure it's a completely different stack of skills, but I can't clearly distinguish which one I'd "leave it all behind" for... Dont know where I'm going with this but yeah, Vive David Diepold

Maybe so but in all fairness back in the 80s with Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets he introduced a melodic aggressive way of playing the drums. What he may lack in technique by today's standards he co-wrote the songs with the drums.
There are a lot of truly talented metal bands out there, but I have not been as happy with any of them as I was listening to the newest Death album in my teen years. Their sound and style will never be sufficiently duplicated unless by exceptional bands playing covers of their songs. This is an awesome cover. I wasn't actually sure it was an entire band cover until I saw the names on the screen. lol. Great work, guys. I grew up in Altamonte Springs, where Chuck lived and died. I went to the same high school, just 2 years after Chuck left and went into music. My teen years were during the whole Florida death metal explosion, and I was fortunate enough to see them live at least a dozen times in tiny bars with several different lineups. Good times, man, good times. RIP Chuck and Sean. You are sorely missed, but your legacy lives on.

+molochz Most drummers (especially extreme metal) wear them to prevent blisters so they can keep performing at high velocities without ruining their hands. Look at Pete Webber from Havok, he doesn't wear them, and you can tell because his hands are FUCKED with blisters. The amount of pain he must be in when he plays is unreal, but he keeps on, however, as a drummer myself, i can't deal with the pain.
+Tim Most drummers don't wear gloves. If you play long enough without using gloves you'll get used to it. It also goes the other way, if you have played with gloves long enough playing without them will surely hurt. But yeah, it's just about personal taste. I don't use gloves and I'm all good, not getting any blisters or pain anymore.
