** Lyrics **
Built from blind faith
Passed down from self-induced fantasy
Turn a page to justify
Conjuring power - it opens wide
On your seventh day,
is that how it's done?
Twisting your eyes to perceive
all that you want
To assume from ignorance
Inflicting wounds with your
cross-turned dagger
[Chorus:]
Inside crystal mountain
Evil takes its form
Inside crystal mountain
Commandments are reborn
All the traps are set to confine
All who get in the way of the divine
In sight and in mind of the hypocrite
A slave to the curse forever confined
[Solo: Schuldiner]
Shatter the myth
Don't cut yourself
On your words against
dreams made of steel
Stronger than any faith
That inflicts pain and fear,
is that how it's done?
Twisting your eyes to perceive
all that you want
To assume from ignorance
Inflicting wounds with your
cross-turned dagger
[Repeat chorus]

Finally, we got Mozart in death metal...
He's not the Mozart, he is the god and the creator of Death metal, don't understate him by calling him Mozart, he was much more than that. He was a true genius.
R.I.P Chuck
And also a good person
Its weird to say finally when the dude invented the genre, and it’s also important to recognize that classical music plays a massive role in the structure and design of many metal bands modern and otherwise. Lets not put artists on a pedestal. Chuck was a great person and composer who inspired many young people to follow their dreams of innovating heavy music.
@@MaybeAdvik Dude Chuck did not invent Death Metal. Possessed '7 Churches' was out in 1985, Deaths first album came out in 1987, two full years later. It was many bands and a scene and even though the New York and Swedish bands came out later they were also doing it in that same time period, unsigned. I hate the revisionist history with Chucks fans. He is the #1 Metal God in Death Metal but the narrative is not correct he did not 'invent' Death metal he DEFINED it, its two different things. Death metal spawned from Slayer, Coroner, Exodus, Venom, Celtic Frost etc., it was a natural evolution. Chuck defined the genre early on and had the biggest 'hit' (The Philosopher). Dont get me wrong I love Chuck but I lived it, I was there in Tampa from 83 to 91. It was a bunch of bands and Death was arguably the best.
@@MaybeAdvik so, I take it you've never heard of that loser, Mozart, before 😅👌
maestro Chuck!
Richard Rules on Those Drums
Всё равно лучший❤
How many sick riffs in one song can you write?
Chuck: yes
LMFAO. 100% accurate
It's so hard to believe Chuck has passed away. His spirit truely reigns inside of us.
It a legend death metal musician .
Death is real. He made it so people could not take it for ...left to die
He is human so we will die anytime sooner or later
Best comment. He has/had a hand in raising a generation of metalheads.
Indeed... even worst he passed at such a young age
Death was the best sounding tightest death metal band I'd ever seen live.
I think Asphyx is but Death is a close one
Nah its gotta be necrophagist@WhoDaF0ok1sThatGuy
Can I borrow this drummer for 5 minutes?
Just the drummer??
It’s Richard Christie from Howard Stern Show. Fun fact!

The year is 2024 and this masterpiece still sounds fresh and pretty smooth, Cuck was beyond the normal musicians, totally outstanding!!!
Cuck, eh?
I am here to in 2024 listening again to the Legend Chuck Shuldiner, gone to soon but never forgotten !
bro called him “Cuck” 💀
Cuck Sculdiner will forever be missed
This song is always in my head.
Hell yeah dude. This man. I’d heard about him as a child. Which is pretty odd for a black kid in Atlanta always seemed familiar glad i heard of him
Chucks an absolute genious, greatest metal musician of all time imo!!
Metal knows no color.
@@hugolafhugolaf goddamn right dude
Sometimes I forget how this band was simply ahead and I risk to say, apart from time and everything that people knew about Metal and musicality on heavy styles like death metal. Chuck isnt my hero, he is my inspiration, not only about metal but about life itself, Thank you very much for this piece of diamond called Death, Chuck, rest in peace.
Mine...also. thank you.
I notice a lot of people just have such a connection to Chuck even if we never met him, dude was just a legend and an inspiration to loads of people, shows how incredible of a person he was
2:15 one of the best fucking solo ever
Odion tru tru
I just learned it and the feeling was priceless❤❤❤
Though i like other Death solos better
Chuck the master of death metal \m/
He’s the only one I’ve ever seen who has pulled it off flawlessly
love that minimal drumset
ctzaaa Lmao "minimal".
@@theEddy1205 Shhhhh let him be happy lol
Who is the drummer? Is that Sean? But Sean is out at 91's RIP Sean Reinert

beautiful clear notes . extreme tapping . followed by increadible lead break . band is glorious . R.I.P death . great loss to our comunnity
I searched for "death live", which could have been confusing for the search engine, but he understood because here I am.
Waking up on a Monday morning July, 18, 2016 to listen to this timeless masterpiece. . . Death playlist locked and loaded. RIP Chuck!
Rip you
1:38 one of the heaviest riffs ever
Know many other examples, but that's pretty personal in general anyway, btw even in this song, and not saying it's heavier or anything, i freaking love that intro riff soo much, it's timeless such as the chorus is as well to me.
Bridge in “Domination” (Pantera) has to be my fave! But this is no doubt a timeless classic.
Pull the plug is more heavier i think
Happy Heavenly 57th Birthday Chuck Schuldiner May 13 1967 - December 13 2001
What chuck did for metal and music in general will never be forgotten
Death and Megadeth are two of my fav bands
Megadeth has been my favorite for quite some time just getting into death... Please recommend tunes
@@blakejohnson6923 I like lack of comprehension, flesh and the power it holds,1000 eyes, and low life. Obscura is also a really good band you should check out forsaken, solaris, and a valdiction by them
Me too fr
Wait till you hear about ultradeath
If I had to pick those would be my favorite 2 bands too.
Great minds think alike \m/
Chuck was a genius, nothing less.
Also, a very accurate guitar player.
For a band called Death, this band has so much life ❤ Feeling glad to be alive to hear it
Death will never die.
Very very sad. He is no more............................expression from India. Miss you Dear Chuck.
Скучают по нему и в России 🇷🇺 Привет Индия🤝
I prefer his low-end growl to this higher-pitched one.
I try to avoid watching live videos of Death to avoid tears... unique and extraordinary band in history
Chuck was a heavy metal genius. FUCKING EVIL
*death metal
or extreme metal
*MUSIC genius
Thank god your not one of the imbeciles that believes that spiritual healing was the last good death album.
ALL are amazing albums. We're not dealing with a mere mortal here, are we ??? :)
He was tapped into a musical wavelength, no one could attain. Utterly God-Like from every angle.
He's the one person I greatly miss and never met ...
He was a great musician! He played clear notes even in live with no mistakes! I listen all kind of good music and it's very sad that many people say this is no music... 😢
People = 💩
Si existiera una máquina del tiempo iría a salvar a Chuck ...respeto total... OxFoX
How confidently he moves his fingers all over the guitar!!!
Richard Christy is a bad mo fo!! So much respect for him. Stern has no clue how awesome he is in the drum world.
man i love richard's playing too but he is sloppy af here
@@DavidHimmelPerforms understatement
Its just real playing, not quantized and locked to a click or grid. I think it sounds dope.
0:32 “strongjuring power it opens wide”
Conjuring power it opens wide
Legendary, simply insane musicianship from everyone!
Chuck said troth through his metal voice like a sage that was never of any sage other himself. Truly a guy who was all on his own, while catering for his cats and dogs and friends.
Came across the song CrystalMountain randomly in 2021 Naively thought it was fantastic, but present day retro metal only to realize in reality it’s TIMELESS MASTERPIECE from the 90ies.
Song that got me into extreme metal. Nowadays all I listen to is various types of death and black metal, but for me, it all comes back to Crystal fucking Mountain. One of the hardest hitting songs ever
Чак,спасибо тебе!!!Жаль,нет музыки такой сейчас!!!😢
Era perfetto in ogni cosa Chuck...
Chuck fucking owns the stage and Richard is crushing it big time
Symbolic лучший альбом. Чак красавчеггг! Земля пухом!
It's amazing how well they play
Chuck un genio... R.I.P
Who’s still here in 2021? RIP Chuck
Chuck was one of the greatest writers off all time musically and lyrically
Hi James. Long time no see. How are you man?
I thought I'd drop a comment while watching this masterpiece.
Have you been on EmtyWords lately? So man people went there and left a comment for Chuck on Dec 13th.
It's great to see that so many people still care.
Forever, the ultimate master .
they came out of the depths of Tampa, FL, thats one thing i can say. i always heard about it when i was young in Fort lauderdale. I did. I always heard if you are ever in Tampa, just check out these guys. yeah, i love them, To death. Sure. they just kick butt. But it was a bit after my time that i started hearing about them.
Chuck, miss YOU man!!
Glad I saw Death back in 1998. Great experience. Won’t forget talking to him with a friend before the show.
Oh man I envy you.
This is true heavy metal.

Oh he play very good, but I don't like the voice, but the name of band is Dead, then he have a voice that sounds a name of Band. This song remember me a Wake up Dead of the band Megadeth, but version have Death metal style.
This is my top song on spotify the others are also Death 😎
Chuck is a fucking Legend!
Chuck Schuldinner um gênio
Essa letra falando verdades
"Pessoas que acham que estão no top de tudo"
he is so good, even his outfit is so simple, hes like a virtuoso doing death metal
Death , это свято для меня с детства. Навсегда в моей душе и сердце
Pretty sure that drummer is Richard Christy
Very good....in my opinion the drummer they had
Badass Sound Fucking High Quality 🤘🤘🤘🤘⚡⚡⚡⚡
Is there like a DVD or do I have to buy the album?
Ohh... Chuck... 😥😥 Wish you still alive
That breakdown is sick.
Thanks Chuck for standing against the judgement of religious fanatics
That dude has some long ass fingers. Great band.
No tenes zapatitos Chuck ahh? Troesma lml
Solo always get right in my fuking mind
Choro largado em Crystal Mountain. RIP Chuck
As someone that's been on stage, I have no idea how he did it. Anxiety can kick in and your hand may slip and fuck up your fret, but Chuck was literally playing 10/10 riffs and the fucking solos.
And with such a relaxt self confidence, uber relaxt...if it wasn't unhuman at all...respect(ed) the hell out if this master
@@cornehuptekee3902 He really was the best.
2:15 love this tapping so much ❤
Playing his guitar while his hair flys in the wind
I was born in 97 so I never seen chuck but I feel his presence as if I known him. He has such a humble personality that I can see in him as I see in myself as silly as it sounds. My back patch on my battle vest is scream bloody gore even though he thought it was silly and fun album but Death is the GOAT and i feel like I missed out so much. You people out there who did see him live years ago I envy you. What an honour it must have been. I don't have any tattoos but whenever I get one it will be a death logo for sure 100% you OG metalheads back in the day are truly what made metal so amazing and still holds Strong to this day. Love you all
Who was the drummer in this session?
Richard Christy. He also drummed for incantation at some point. He is insane Chuck really knows how to pick them
My favourite song 🖤🖤🖤
Rest in Peace Chuck...
Why do people hate death metal it’s actually pretty good
Because not all death metal is this awesome and people simply haven't heard it.
