@@arvindshastry1178 I know, he was my favourite drummer!! Have you checked out the Cynic 1991 demo? A lot closer to Death than Focus was and his drumming is crazy on it.
Sean accurately replicated every one of his drum tracks to perfection when playing live and he had power for days. Case in point is his ‘Flattering Of Emotions’ live drum cam video and those insane double bass chops.
This was my first Death album and it was so unbelievably heavy, it blew my mind. I went right back to the record store the next day and bought the other two records they had in stock: Leprosy and Spiritual Healing. After that, I bought every new Death album the day it was released. I still listen to Chuck's music - at least one song - every single day.
Sean was the 2nd drummer I ever saw perform live (After the great Ken Owen, as Carcass were opening for Death). Sadly, I'd only just started getting into Death, and had never been at a live gig before, so I didn't appreciate it as much as I wish I could have, which pains me to this day. Sean's performance on "Human" is one of the truly great drumming performances of all time on a metal record. His feel and skill, damn... smooth as silk, but sheer pummelling to boot, he was one of the best. Chuck, over the sadly way too short lifespan of Death played with some of our true greats in the metal genre, including the incredible Steve and Gene in this very video. Thanks Sean and Chuck, you provided some truly wonderful sonic moments that will forever be cherished by all lovers of great music and talent. R.I.P. 😔
My first live performance ever was these guys in Austin last year! Saw Max outside he was heading to buy sth from a nearby shop or sth and I hesitated to say hey. Huge FAN! You guys keep decimating!
Gene neglected to emulate Sean’s wicked single stroke fill @ 2:24 up and down the toms with splashes in between, instead doing some lame half-paced tom / kick combo. Disappointing.
@@scottchristensen7863 It would be nothing short of ambiguous if I wasn’t “specific” and Sean certainly did play it live, because it’s a climactic part of the actual fucking drum track he personally composed. Edit : Watch the DEATH & Sean Reinert drum cam : Intro + Suicide Machine 10.26.91 video. Check his fill @ 4:03 and educate yourself.
@@SputniksArmy As a drummer, I care, because it’s my favourite section of the drum track and I particularly love playing that fill myself. Gene is getting old and sloppy, so blow me boy.
@@Virvum_Juggernautbusy criticizing the greatest Metal Drummer alive? Great content btw there, Champ 😂 as if he's required to play it exactly as recorded by Sean.
Human is Death's best album in my opinion.
Hell yes and best lineup with the Cynic boys imo. I met Paul back in March, really nice guy and he signed my Human backpatch too.
@@henrywalton5967 Sean was an awesome drummer. I wish he recorded more albums with Chuck.

For me Death is one of those very few bands of which I really couldn't pick a most or least favourite album. I genuinely love them all.
Man this line-up slays! R.I.P. Sean!

The difference between an artist and a performer. We will never see the likes of Chuck again.

Oddly specific gatekeeping there. Did Sean even play it that way live?
lol who fucking cares bro
