That goblin comic reminder me of some statistics I saw recently, and it presented something to the effect that, around forty years ago, weekly wages of a household were very slightly higher than they are today, by a matter of a few dollars, I think, while cost of living is somewhere around twenty times higher today than it was forty years ago, so we've got about the same weekly wages for the average household with those wages buying 1/20 the value. Stuff isn't getting more expensive; our wealth is being artificially stolen via inflation and taxation by our own governments. Ron Paul will make anime real.
And somehow (some) people are convinced that the issue is that the government is not forcing companies to pay them more or that companies are too greedy. I've always said the issue is cost of living.
Do also keep in mind that companies that sells us stuff are also the ones raising their prizes
Which governments are suppose to keep in check with laws and rules to prevent companies to not spiral out of control with their greed(with their "each year numbers need to be bigger" system) but seeing your 1/20 statistic it seems that, that has not been doing so well either
@@Sakomi_Arorim Corporations also have to buy stuff, from other corporations. So, costs go up because the price of everything goes up, therefore corporations having higher costs and raise prices to make up for those costs.
When rising labor costs force the price of a product to go up, so you pay people more to be able to afford it. 😅

while true, it is also not like most of those corporations would not still make a large amount of profit even if they did not raise their own prices.
It would just not be as high of a profit as the year before, which is the reason corporations do not want to do that as the profit margins always need to be higher every year then the year before.
and that is not really a sustainable model but it is the one that is being used worldwide
sadly this is nothing new as that is simply corporate greed doing it's thing

Because companies have a duty to make their shareholders money they refuse go below a set profit margin. So in order to combat the increase in the costs of selling their products companies only have three options to reduce those costs; increase prices, reduce quality of the product and lay off employees. Often times all three happens at once. The people pushing the laws through know that they only hurt the people but want to look like they’re trying to help when they only care about staying in power
If only the supreme Court didn't uphold the decision that Ford cannot reinvest into his own company and employees and instead has to care about publicly traded stocks due to the Dodge Brothers lawsuit after a particularly successful year.
Not all companies, just corporations. If it's publically traded, they get the money up front and have to pay back the dividends with interest. It's also why corporations are able to sell for lower prices more often than not, because they don't have to funnel profits into new stock incrementally.

hello all, just came on to say that i'm a returning viewer after like a 5 year hiatus. I had been watching for a long while and at the time i when through some school and family issues, and i couldn't really find the joy in Noble's videos.
Obviously it was more me than Noble's video quality which I'm sure has only gotten better with time. i clicked on this video by chance and i was hit with a wave of nostalgia; it was so nice to hear Noble's voice again and laugh along with him.
