    My sister recently bought salicylic acid 6 percent & 4 percent sulphur can i use this every day to my face and neck area

      Those are pretty high concentrations for the neck area. I do not want to make any recommendations outside of a proper consultation.

    im suffering with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation on my body i need to get rid from it that's why i need a good exfoliating acid. in my country there few options are available the first option is (12 percent lactic acid and 10 percent urea cream) second option is (12 percent glycolic acid cream) 3rd one is (6 percent salicylic acid cream) and there not mentioned the ph levels of this creams. i saw in some videos doctors said ph is most important for the exfoliation. what cream should i choose

      @@Mohamed-ue8jh yes, but you must understand that it is quite difficult for me to give advice on which product to use without seeing your skin especially since the ingredients your asking can be irritating and can have negative consequences when used incorrectly. If you ask me, the safest would be the first option.

    I just want my face to be as smooth as my shoulders. My body skin is better than my face. Why is that? I have oily/sensitive skin. Very sensitive it gets irritated easily once it got dirty. I get pimples easily or redness. I have tiny bumps too. I have nodular acne now and its still there its been two months. Can I use this to treat my face. I use cetaphil and coco derma cream as moisturizer because its organic. I get irritated too if I use products with lots of chemicals. Thanks.

      Azelaic acid is perfect for you, but sometimes acne or pimple can be cause by poor diet and sleep. Evaluate yourself first what are you eating and recent activities that might have caused stress. I use mild facial cleanser, Hatomugi skin conditioner, and azelaic acid. So far so good, just dont forget to use sunscreen during the day

    Can you clarify this? Azelaic acid is used at ridiculous percentages such as 0.6% in some products and 10% in many products. The products using Azelic at these percentages are really does it work? (Sorry for my bad english, hope it's an understandable question.)

      It depends on what you want to use it for. I normally use it for acne and pigmentation at concentrations of 15-20% (prescriptions strength)

      Pwede naman kahit alin although clindamycin shouldnt be used for a long time because of the possibility of resistance.

      Green tea in skincare is beneficial due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies even claim that it has some anti-microbial effect and can improve circulation up to a certain extent.

      Both ingredients naman are ok, azelaic acid has an added anti-inflammatory benefit that can improve post inflammatory erythema.

      Its more important to know if it’s something that will address your skin concerns. Acne, pigmentation, redmarks? I often recommend 15-20% and i only of one brand- Skinoren. It’s a prescription medication though.

      If you have moderate acne, merely using topical creams will not be enough. I recommend a consultation.

      Lightening creams are not the first line of treatment for acanthosis nigricans in my opinion. But azelaic acid as an ingredient can be used to lighten some forms of pigmentation

      @@irenegaile hi doc, according to dr. bowe (saw this on tiktok 😅) skin cycling po is four night skin care routine that includes two nights of treatments followed by two nights of recovery. Day 1 - Exfoliate, Day 2 - Retinol, Day 3 & 4 - Recovery.
      Really wanted to include azelaic acid on my routine but idk which night i could add it po. Thank you so much doc!

      @@sljplsc oh i think skin cycling would be applicable to those with really sensitive skin. I prefer to apply my actives on a daily basis, except maybe if I were to use exfoliants with high concentration of acids. I find it more effective in addressing my concerns.

    Doc how many minutes should tingling/itching go away after applying azelaic acidand is it always gonna be like that every time I apply it or it should be gone after my skin get used to it I'am a first time user and I'am on my first week I just feel very uncomfortable of the itching/tingling sensation but it goes away maybe after 20ish minutes after applying it

      It's not just the microorganisms that cause body odor.
      Sweat + bacteria = body odor.
      If BPO doesnt work, there is a high probability that clindamycin will not as well. I suggest a consultation.

      Hi feliz! It’s being sold as a supplement/add on to treatment of mild to moderate acne in combination with topicals. My patients find it helpful naman. I just dont recommend it as a monotherapy for moderate acne.

    Doctor yesterday i asked a question. you told me (12 percent lactic acid and 10 percent urea cream ) is a good option. and i visited a pharmacy and i found they also have 25 percent urea foot cream . I don't buy anything i became so confused what is more effective and safe ( 25 urea cream or 12% lactic and 10% urea cream)

      Urea is a humectant, if your problem is PIH it wont do much. In higher concentrations it can act as a keratolytic to help areas with thick skin like the feet.

      Iba kc ung cleanser since you wash it off and oftentimes they contain lower concentrations of BHA. If you get your desired results with just using the wash, then you might not need to add an additional product with BHA, if nakukulangan ka, then pwede ka mag add ng BHA toner or cream :)

    Hi Doc!!! I have a combo-sensitive skin po. So I'm scared to layer up my Vitamin C serum (15%) with my Azelaic Acid (10%), it might cause irritation Doc. Can I use azelaic acid in the evening instead? Since I'm still not using any retinoid pa Doc? I only use niacinamide serum(10%) in the evening po. Should I still use it in the morning just alternate it with Vitamin C or just layer them up Doc? Or, in the evening?

      yes to vit c in am and azelaic in PM
      you can use niacinamide in AM and PM if you want :)

    Good Day to you Doc! I am currently simplifying my skincare routine with retinol cream as the only active I am using at nighttime. My only issue is that I get dry rough patches on my cheeks even if I am already at my 12th week of continuous usage. Will it be helpful if I incorporate azelaic acid to mitigate the dry patches?       Washing your UA with BPO wash will reduce the bacteria in the area but remember sweat + bacteria = sweat. So best to pair it with an antiperspirant, which is best applied at bedtime

      Hydroquinone is the gold standard ingredient for hyperpigmentation BUT should be used correctly because misuse can lead to ochronosis (bluish, grayish rebound pigmentatikn)

      It's not just the antibacterial or antimicrobial that will do the job kc the smell is due to a combination of certain microorganisms (not all) and sweat. I suggest a proper consultation. Sayang ang time, effort and money.

    Doc, okay lang pagsabayin yung azeleic acid cream 20% and salicylic acid 2% toner in the morning then tret at night, or should I use the in alternating nights instead?
    Like for example, Tret (M,W,F) then AzeSA (T, TH, SAT).
    Medj kinakabahan ako sa suggestion ng derma ko na I should used them everyday, with tret at night. Tho I already asked her but I want your opinion about this, thank Doc!

    Hi there, doc! I came across this video while looking for new products to put on my face. I stopped using products when I got pregnant in 2020 and until now because I’m breastfeeding. I’m acne-prone and it got worst now. I have active acne all the time and acne pit marks. What other “mild” products can I use to improve my skin texture? Thanks!       I would recommend a consultation -- there are a lot of products that you can use -- like exfoliants, retinoids etc -- but it's hard to make specific recommendations without really assessing your skin :)

    Hi, Dr. Gaile. I have been using these prodects for more than two months: Cetaphil Pink, Skonoren, adn Sunblock in the morning and Klenzit MS, Avene Cicalfate and Oxecure in the evening. These products prescribed by dermatologist really saved me from acne. My concern is, how long should I apply them, and do I need to apply some whitening products on my face? And last is it ok to undergo diamond peel? Thank you so much po.

      Hi editha! Since they were prescribed by your dermatologist, it would be best to ask him/her kc nakita nya and na assess yung skin mo and he/she prescribed them to address a particular skin issue and would know what to recommend :)

      purging usually happens sa start, pwedeng acne na yan and you might need other treatment options :)

    Hi, Doc! I've been using epiduo forte for almost a year na po along with salicylic acid (already switched to glycolic acid) niacinamide cream and vit. c serum as prescribed by my derma. There was an improvement naman po. Siguro po talagang mahirap lang din po itreat ang hyperpigmentation. How long will it take po kaya for it to clear up? And I also still get pimples like every month. Is it normal? And factor po ba ang missed/late monthly periods? Hope my questions will be answered. Thank you, Doc! 😊

      Products usually take at least 12 weeks to work. per in your case since marami kang ginagamit it must mean you have several skin issues, and since naka epiduo forte ka it means may derma ka na, best to ask him/her about it.

    Hello Doc. I’m using the ordinary azelaic acid for about 6 months now and so far the results are good, It really lightens my PIH. I used it alternately with retinol serum at night. Is it okay na po ba Doc to upgrade to a higher concentration like 20% azelaic acid or i’ll just continue it for another 6 months before upgrading to a higher concentration? Thank you Doc. Although effective po sya to lighten my PIH pero napansin ko po na medyo mabagal po sya mawala about 1-2 months depending on the severity of the pimple. I want to try the 20% conc po baka po mas maganda yung effect nya for lighteninng. Thank you po Doc :)
