I am an Indian living in India. I got Pico laser treatment for melasma in one of well known hospital for Dermatology and Cosmetology in Bangalore. It was by far the worst treatment I have undergone to treat my melasma. It darkened my skin and worsened my melasma. I waited for 3 months and followed all the instructions but my face looked darker and lifeless. I stopped all the meds and used only castor oil for months after that. After 9 months or so, I recovered my normal skin tone, with dark melasma.
I don't know why Doctors are spreading misinformation this way. I hope you Doctors treat yourself first before you treat us. When you botch up our face, we will keep away from you, so you'll never know how bad your treatment has been.

The mistake I made when I started using a plasma pen was, I set the energy too high on setting 9, to remove a hypertrophic scar, the only problem was that it caused alot of inflammation and caused excessive exudate to accumulate inside the scar, making the extraction of exudate differcult sometimes resulting in damage to the epidermis.. I found that using lower energy yields a better result. With less complications. What's most important is that you learn from your mistakes.

Finally spent a small fortune and a three hour drive only to have a 12 min appointment where he was rude, eye rolling and just off handedly said “Oh you and everybody else” when I asked for his recommendation on which procedures would suit me.
