Dr. Lim, I became a subscriber in early 2016. I am in the states....life long NYC resident. I rarely comment. You are a true scientist. Medicine is a forever changing art. I cannot accept the term "wrong" from you. . Your honesty and acceptance of change are precisely why your opinions are so incredibly valuable. It is an honor to be one of your subscribers. Much Love & appreciation.
Thank you Dr, for coming out & continue educating us in this manner. I am a master esthetician in Miami, Fl. & everyday for me is a change & a learning experience to help our clients. That is why educating ourselves daily is a must.😊
Videos like these from health professionals are few and far between, but they always make me think better of the practitioner ♥️ I love your content and appreciate that you're open about your past views and how you've changed since ♥️
I appreciate your honesty and humbleness. I think it’s pretty rare for people to say that they’ve made a mistake, more so physicians. I am around many physicians many days of the week and to admit they’re mistake is a rarity. Marya Stark said it best, it truly is an honor to be a subscriber. Thank you, Dr Lim.
Yup my dr advise me for acne scar subcission will be effective. Indeed it is.. and combined it with rejuran S and fractionated laser. My acne scars lighten so much and skin is much clear and better. You can consider this. I did 4 treatments to improve my acne scar
Thank you for this! I have RF Microneedling (for acne scarring) scheduled for tomorrow and have spent the last two weeks debating on whether or not to add PRP to the treatment. This video just saved me $650!
wow ! you have just made me trust you even more ! I love your humility and your openess to change your mind, a sign for me of professionalism and trust.
i’d follow you since i was in college doc. i used to be an acne survivor and then when my acne was healed, i have to deal with another issue which is scarring. thank you for the past 8-10 years doc. been following you for almost a decade. and for real, i believe that one day, my face will be better( after struggling with differents treatment since 2016) ❤
I have even more respect for you now than ever before for and I've always respected you so applause to you for doing a video that most would be too proud to do! Excellent job!
First time I see a doctor admitting that they were wrong. You are giving us more knowledge every day. Thanks a million! Love your channel. All the way from 🇨🇦 💚
Dr Lim! No apologies necessary! Tech and knowledge advance and we use the information that we have at the time, so no more mea culpas from you! Thank you for being so thoughtful!
and this is why i watch you! Also, would you concider a update video on these subjects individually? im thinking of products for at home microneedling you would recommend, a deepdive on eyecreams etc
I can't love you more... You're brilliant... I don't know how many doctors would be willing to learn this kinda self assessment. It not only shows that you're considerate and that you have acquired more knowlege knowlege
This video is amazing. I wish every expert on RUclips would do this. Expert and personal opinions are allowed to change as more information is gathered, but I truly appreciate the humility it takes to admit it.
This is pure gold and diamonds. Wish more people offering advice on social media -or publishing papers- do this from time to time. I’ll end up in a direct flight from Argentina to the Cutis clinic.
Thanks Dr. Lim for your honesty, your many helpful and informative videos and most of all, we appreciate your humbleness. This actually is rare in many in the medical field. You have been so very helpful to many of our medical aesthetic gals!
I actually watched your old video on microneedling and was hesitant to buy dermaroller but then G amber videos changed my mind and went ahead and made purchase only last week. But I’m so glad that you made this video and BTW this is one of your best video so far
I understand why others are hesitant when it comes to microneedling. I appreciate you for finally validating us who find microneedling useful. Well at first, I didnt read the instructions well and stamped all over my active acne.. leaving me with more 😩 good thing I found the Banisher 2.0 from Banish. It is a dermastamp that helped me get rid of the scars on my face/body, it is foolproof and easy to use. I just stamp it on the problem areas I have. ♥️
I love the Banisher 2.0, too! Its helped to soften the appearance of my acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles and has helped my products penetrate deeper into my skin to plump, smooth and brighten my skin. II've also used it on stretch marks!!! I can't afford to go to a dermatologist and so happy Banish Acne Scars exists. They have saved my skin!
@Jaye Shaw yes! I recommend watching the channel Team Acne here on youtube. He has vastly improved his acne scarring from The Banisher 2.0! Hope this helps!❤️
Thank you Doc for your honest advice as we rely on the professionals to guide us with our skin concerns been a person of colour I have been suffering with melasma for the last 6yrs and nothing seems to work and the treatments that do is just so expensive and I cannot afford when you are unemployed I wish there was options for people like us ...thanks for your content from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you do much Dr. for being so honest to us by correcting and updating information. I’ve followed you for a longgggg time and Im so thankful for all knowledge that you always share with us.
Thank you so much for doing this. Open minded attitudes aren't always present in doctors, I've discovered. With developing technologies, there will always be the possibility of improvements in products and treatments. You are a better Dr for doing this 👍
I got some irreversible damage from PRP. For darker skinned folks should be careful with microneedling. Listen to him about depth. I thought you said in the past only oral t acid worked? Glad I miss- heard, because I only used oral due to you. It works great. Cleared up my deep laser burns and my melasma.
Thank You Dr Davin Lim for this follow up. what I take away from this video is that everything skin related is not that simple and need a thoughtfull analyse, including from a dermatologist. Very interesting !
So funny:) literally today is Yom Kippur, the day of the Jewish year when we apologize for our wrongs, repent, take accountability for our mistakes, and ask for forgiveness. My social media is like full of memes of soorrys and apologies, and then this comes up and I'm like "is this guy Jewish too??" 😅.. anywayyy.. very valuable, thank you:)
Love it! Great comment. I’m Catholic and we confess our sins at the beginning of every Holy Mass, for the things we’ve done and failed to do. It’s a great reminder to realize we sin, recognize it, and ask for forgiveness. I always appreciate people that take responsibility for their actions. Thank you for sharing about the Jewish faith. Medicine is ever changing so we are always learning, technology is advancing, but it’s kind of the doctor to address how this area has evolved also.
@@amperage8032 Thank you:) Such a lovely response:) I agree, and all religions do encourage us to take responsibilty for our actions, which is actually one of the things that help us evolve the most, probably.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Apologies are unnecessary, you live and learn. Just keep sharing the latest info available. I wish you had a clinic in the US.
Skincare science is always changing. I wish everyone did updates on products they’ve talked about in the past and have had results that may or may not warrant a recommendation. 👍 However, I quit buying spray on SPF as I easily missed spots when applying.
This is so good. It is always a proces. I love it that you can say sorry, i was wrong. We only can learn from experience. And that is the mirror for all of us in each type of experience and developments. Thank you for giving the right example. ❤.
I don't think he's "wrong" just times have changed and new data, new technology. We can't stay static and that is why health care professionals are expected to continue education because it's evolving
Sir this is called medical evolution. No need to be sorry.... I think what we say or use today might become redundant and frowned upon in future.... So relax and keep up the excellent work
I had laser for acne under Dr Lim in mid 2019. I can’t say it overall assisted my acne scars and unfortunately it left me with hypopigmentation patches over my face. I’d never suffered from pigmentation issues prior. I’ve been told there is no treatment to reverse this. For me personally, the co2 laser was a lot of expense & healing for me, with little gain.
I saw on one of his Instagrams (he has 2, skin 101 is the other) that they might have a way to fix that now. They transplant monocytes into the hypo areas, seems to be working. :) if it bothers you a lot reach out and see if they can do it for you. Hope this helps
Thank you for doing this video. I remember clearly that you were saving $$$ for me from buying “eye creams” back in years ago. As we all learn and adapt I will look for a eye cream both affordable and has caffeine in it now. Again, Thank you for keep educating us. 👋
The mistake I made when I started using a plasma pen was, I set the energy too high on setting 9, to remove a hypertrophic scar, the only problem was that it caused alot of inflammation and caused excessive exudate to accumulate inside the scar, making the extraction of exudate differcult sometimes resulting in damage to the epidermis.. I found that using lower energy yields a better result. With less complications. What's most important is that you learn from your mistakes.
Did the studies regarding aerosol sunscreens take into account that people generally apply them outside, where there's wind which will carry much of the product away? Even if you still get enough sun protection, you'd probably still waste a lot of product that would just end up on the grass or the beach.
Respect for learning as you continue doing your work. Respect for saying you are wrong and separating fact from fiction. You are definitely the Dr I WOULD see for skin treatment. Where are you based in Australia? Pl advise? Thank you Dr David Lim!
Thank you Dr. Lim for your honesty. I have brown skin and have a large sun spot on my face for many years. I have used a lot of other skincare and got rid of pigmentation but not the spot. What treatment would you recommend?
Hi Dr Lim. I would really appreciate clarification. In your video you said that you were “wrong” about PRP and then you listed all the clinical benefits you saw - However, you did not identify in what way you were “wrong” about PRP? I’m especially interested as I’m just about to book PRP appointments (at considerable cost) so I would really like to know what you think you got “wrong” about PRP? Fingers crossed for a reply. Thank you so much.
I also think you hedged your bets pretty well on your tranexamic discussions too. I knew that it MAY be helpful, showing some potential early promise going in because you said as much. I know what those words mean. You said it was early days, Dr Dray also indicated it was early days with some potential promise on that one I remember.
Awe, Dr.Lim, I just bought a serum with 5% Tranexamic acid, kojic acid, niacinamide and licorice root. Is the acid good for anything, in your opinion? What is your opinion on this serum?
I love that this shows that science and you as a doctor are in a continuous process of learning. That’s how it should be!Thank you for showing this!
@Slavery is Freedom, War is Peace ffs educate yourself

you are the best for this one. if only all dr.'s had this honest and human approach to their practices.

Excellent Dr. Evaluation and re-evaluation of treatments are a huge part of the medical process. As you grow and change we do too. Thanks.

Appreciate your honesty, it is normal that appreciation evolve with time and experience.
Good evening Dr Lim. Nobody is perfect.
In this society we're living it is hard to be humble. God bless your humble ❤️.

It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge we made mistakes, or thought wrong about something. Kudos.
Thank you doctor. I tried Picosure, Pico Genesis and Picoway and yes I love the result from Picosure more than the other two machines.
It's brave to do this.. Total respect 👍👍👍

That, sir, was a very great attitude. Very honorable... 👏👌

Pico definitely removed spots on my tan Filipino skin, I’m just not sure which Pico my doctor used.
I have light olive skin which hyperpigments easily and I have had good results with Picosure.
