woodturning a larch bowl treated with dye

- I made a bowl out of a piece of larch and treated it with dye.
When I was making the bowl I noticed that the color wasn't anything special so I decided to dye the bowl to give it something extra.
So after turning and sanding, I diluted a little bit of dye with water and treated the bowl with it.
When the dye had dried, I sanded the bowl and treated it with a layer of sealer.
After laser engraving my logo on the bottom, I finished the wood with woodwax and polished it.
The bowl has a diameter of 23 centimeters and is 7 centimeters high
Hi Hans. I wasn't too sure about the green until I saw the final closeup footage. Really nice effect. You come up with some great ways to make lovely items. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂, Gareth.
Thank you, yes I didn't think the color of the wood was anything special, but it did have a very nice grain, but it was barely visible, so I tried to accentuate the grain with a little dye.
Never seen Larch - alive or as lumber - here in the US. I see it is a very soft hardwood. You gave, and it took the color well. Good job Hans ! Take care. -Mike
Thank you Mike, you may have seen a larch, it looks very much like Douglas fir, it is slightly more yellowish than Douglas fir, and it is often confused with each other.
@@hbwoodturning17 That explains it - "confused" is my middle name 🤪😵
