  • Last winter, I cored a piece of spalted birch trunk and then set the bowls aside to dry.
In fact, this is the first time I have used my oneway coring system other than a test piece
I recently mounted the bowls back on the lathe and turned them for the second time.
First I turned tenons on the bowls and then I attached the bowls to the chuck with the tenon and turned and finished the bowls.
After I have finished the bowls, I remove them from the chuck and remove the tenons on the lathe.
When I have removed the tenons, I laser engrave my logo in the bottom, and then I finish the bottoms
I finished the bowls with sealer and then sanded them to 600 grit and finally applied a layer of friction polish and buffed them.
The large bowl has a diameter of 39 centimeters and is 16 centimeters high, the second largest has a diameter of 31 centimeters and is 11 centimeters high, the next one has a diameter of 26 centimeters and is 9 centimeters high and the smallest has a diameter of 19 centimeters and is 6 centimeters high.

Another great project, Hans. You keep impressing me! Not only by the craftsmanship but also by your equipment and tools. The other day I saw your metal lathe and now the Oneway core tool! Cool stuff!

Thank you Frank, yes this coring system is a really nice piece of tool, I now have the opportunity to make multiple bowls from one piece of wood, which saves wood and a lot of time. That metal lathe belongs to my father, so that is why we made that project together.

Great to see you also have the OneWay coring tools. Works fine on the MAXI-1.
