  • I made a bowl from a piece of conifer wood and stained it with Merkelbach extra oxblood turpentine wax.
I had previously turned the bowl and treated it with wood glue and set it aside to dry.
Due to drying, the bowl had become distorted and two dry cracks had appeared.
So first I mounted the bowl on the lathe and turned it flat and round again and treated the cracks with CA glue.
After removing the hardened glue, I was able to turn the bowl and give it its final shape and size.
After sanding the bowl, I stained the wood with oxblood turpentine wax and then finished it with friction polish.
The bowl has a diameter of 27 centimeters and is 12 centimeters high.
