Just when it looked like he was going to get back together with her, his now wife said she was pregnant. He did the right thing by being around as a father to his kids. Their hearts are always going to feel deep love no matter who else is in their life.
Hardly surprising. She was older than him when she first decided he was the best way for her to make a career out of music (even though she's not a musician) and took him to bed when he was 16. He fell in love (and the first cut is the deepest), she was just 'doing business'.
@@Shaun.Stephens Actually Mick said that Lindsey was making faces while Stevie was speaking at the mic during a performance and she got so mad she said it's either him or me...they chose her (she has the largest fan base in the band). Seems neither one of them could reconcile the past, so this is probably for the best...at least for the sake of peace within the band. Really if you think about it, Stevie's the one who came out on the short end of the stick in this whole thing...4 abortions, no husband or children. Lindsey's been married for 20 years and has 3 kids. I think Lindsey is jealous of Stevie's popularity and successful solo career, and Stevie is jealous that Lindsey didn't pine away for her till the end of time, forsaking all other women...yeah, like that ever happens with any man! @@blondespitfire Yet Mick and Chris were waltzing behind her! It wasn't 'making faces', Stevie said Lindsey was "smirking", she said she saw it on the replay. As for her getting the short end of the stick those abortions weren't forced on her. At least one of the 'fathers' was really annoyed about it. She had enough time off for binging, rehab and solo tours, she could have taken time off to have a child (or four). Also if she wasn't bed-hopping could likely have had her choice of a husband. @@Shaun.Stephens Yeah, that's true those guy's were "waltzing" behind her...sorta was an inside joke with the band that Stevie tends to go on and on. Curse of the Gemini...I know, I was married to one and they never stfu! Yet what Mick and Chris did, that didn't seem to bother her...just Lindsey's smirk, which tells you alot! Any little thing between those two always gets blown out of proportion, and the rest of the band has to deal with all the drama. And I do think Stevie got the short end of the stick...100% all her OWN fault though. She's always claimed that never getting married, and the abortions, were all because of her "career" but the real truth is that Stevie was addicted to coke all during her childbearing years. This is something that she doesn't cop to publicly, and I think part of the reason why she's never written a book about her life, despite being a prolific writer...there are things she just doesn't want to discuss about the choices she made. Like the fact that she didn't use birth control because she couldn't afford to get fat, and the Rock Stars she slept with certainly would've been thoroughly offended being asked to use a condom, so she got pregnant alot. She couldn't risk carrying to term while being a junkie, so she had alot of abortions...procrastinating that the right time would come one day. Well, it doesn't work like that, women have a shelf-life when it comes to childbearing and she missed her window. Her ambition, ego, and weakness for drugs got the best of her, and she's got to live with those decisions she made. Men don't have to pay such a high price when this stuff happens to them, but women do! Also, Stevie was never considered to be marriage material by all the Rock Stars she slept with...not Henley, Walsh, Petty, Iovine, not even Mick! 1. She's flighty (the Gemini thing, and the Coke addict thing). 2. Guys like that don't want a woman they have to compete with in their careers, especially one that's on the road as much as they are. Their egos are too fragile for that. She was a road f*ck, period. They want hot arm candy, preferably 15-20 yrs younger than them, that don't have careers, and are always there to serve their every whim and give them children when they're old enough to be grandfathers! And Don Henley wasn't upset at the time Stevie had the abortion. He feigned upset in a drunken interview 25 yrs later, but the time to have shown concern would've been when it happened, and he didn't cause he didn't want a permanent relationship with her. Sadly, it seems no one did because she was just too erratic on coke! Being a woman myself, I would guess Stevie is not a very happy woman. Rich, but lonely and empty! Lindsey was the closest she would come. And even though it's a documented fact that Lindsey was physically and mentally abusive toward Stevie and another girlfriend named Carol during the time he was on Coke, I'm sure she has regrets about ending things with him, and it can't be easy to have to see him all the time and always wondering what might have been if they'd stayed together. There's a rumor, don't know if it's true, that Stevie and Lindsey started back up with each other when the band got back together in the 90's. He was seeing the woman that would later become his wife at the time too and SHE got pregnant...and Lindsey chose her...which created even more bad blood between them! Who knows though. Btw, Lindsey's heart problems weren't caused by the firing. Heart problems in men tend to run in families, and Lindsey's father died of a "widow-maker" heart attack in traffic on his way to work in the 70's. Considering his genetics and all the Coke he did back in the day, Lindsey's very lucky to still be alive!
If they found their way back together it would be so nice. I think Stevie has loved him her entire adult life. They forged their connection when they were teens. They loved before the fame.

This is fantastic, thank you. We can't know what has gone on between these two, but what is obvious, is that they care deeply for each other through whatever it is, and that "chain" will never be broken. I'm sad that Fleetwood Mac as a group is done as a live group, but happy that we still get these two out.
iShip fanvids ~Sure it’s rare, but if you look for it, you will see it. These days you’ll see it between Lindsay and his beautiful wife. He loves all-in; his family, his music, his past and his future. Stevie is her own person. She lives a life of many layers; her music, her family, her pets...her love is very personal to her. She and Lindsay were a high-profile couple, band-mates, shared both heartache and outrageous successes. They spent many years apart. Only when it was proposed that FM produce yet one more album, did the two (finally) talk things out. They re-developed a bonding relationship. They both agreed that they had to - for the music - and they did. It was good to see them (all) back together too! - for the music.

Aww. That brought tears to my eyes. I have loved FM since I was a kid in the 70's, and like so many others I've always had an intense fascination with every thing about Stevie & Lindsey. I always hoped they'd get back together, I think they BOTH DO STILL LOVE each other. I know, I know, Lindsey's married with kids now and I wish him happiness with his family. But I think he still loves Stevie and she loves him. I have a feeling it might be like me and my ex-husband. A toxic love hate thing.

Just speculating... that i dont think Stevie was able to fully realize the man Lindsey would become I kind of think she knows now...interesting that scientists are saying that female brains dont really develop to at least age 25 and mens dont until perhaps age 30 to 35... Also, the lifestyle radically changed for/with them once they became mega successful in the 70's so thinking about these factors I can understand why things went down on a romantic level. From what I gather, their relationship was very toxic. I don’t know why sone people keep insisting they should still be together. Granted they created some really incredible songs back in the day, but their relationship just cannot work out. End of story. Some people need to quit insisting that two people who clearly do not belong nor want to be together get together again.

Seems neither one of them could reconcile the past, so this is probably for the best...at least for the sake of peace within the band. Really if you think about it, Stevie's the one who came out on the short end of the stick in this whole thing...4 abortions, no husband or children. Lindsey's been married for 20 years and has 3 kids. Curse of the Gemini...I know, I was married to one and they never stfu! Yet what Mick and Chris did, that didn't seem to bother her...just Lindsey's smirk, which tells you alot! Any little thing between those two always gets blown out of proportion, and the rest of the band has to deal with all the drama. And I do think Stevie got the short end of the stick...100% all her OWN fault though. She's always claimed that never getting married, and the abortions, were all because of her "career" but the real truth is that Stevie was addicted to coke all during her childbearing years. This is something that she doesn't cop to publicly, and I think part of the reason why she's never written a book about her life, despite being a prolific writer...there are things she just doesn't want to discuss about the choices she made. Like the fact that she didn't use birth control because she couldn't afford to get fat, and the Rock Stars she slept with certainly would've been thoroughly offended being asked to use a condom, so she got pregnant alot. She couldn't risk carrying to term while being a junkie, so she had alot of abortions...procrastinating that the right time would come one day. Well, it doesn't work like that, women have a shelf-life when it comes to childbearing and she missed her window. Her ambition, ego, and weakness for drugs got the best of her, and she's got to live with those decisions she made. Men don't have to pay such a high price when this stuff happens to them, but women do! Also, Stevie was never considered to be marriage material by all the Rock Stars she slept with...not Henley, Walsh, Petty, Iovine, not even Mick! 1. She's flighty (the Gemini thing, and the Coke addict thing). 2. Guys like that don't want a woman they have to compete with in their careers, especially one that's on the road as much as they are. Their egos are too fragile for that. She was a road f*ck, period. They want hot arm candy, preferably 15-20 yrs younger than them, that don't have careers, and are always there to serve their every whim and give them children when they're old enough to be grandfathers! And Don Henley wasn't upset at the time Stevie had the abortion. He feigned upset in a drunken interview 25 yrs later, but the time to have shown concern would've been when it happened, and he didn't cause he didn't want a permanent relationship with her. Sadly, it seems no one did because she was just too erratic on coke! Being a woman myself, I would guess Stevie is not a very happy woman. Rich, but lonely and empty! Lindsey was the closest she would come. And even though it's a documented fact that Lindsey was physically and mentally abusive toward Stevie and another girlfriend named Carol during the time he was on Coke, I'm sure she has regrets about ending things with him, and it can't be easy to have to see him all the time and always wondering what might have been if they'd stayed together. There's a rumor, don't know if it's true, that Stevie and Lindsey started back up with each other when the band got back together in the 90's. He was seeing the woman that would later become his wife at the time too and SHE got pregnant...and Lindsey chose her...which created even more bad blood between them! Who knows though. Btw, Lindsey's heart problems weren't caused by the firing. Heart problems in men tend to run in families, and Lindsey's father died of a "widow-maker" heart attack in traffic on his way to work in the 70's. Considering his genetics and all the Coke he did back in the day, Lindsey's very lucky to still be alive!

We can't know what has gone on between these two, but what is obvious, is that they care deeply for each other through whatever it is, and that "chain" will never be broken. I'm sad that Fleetwood Mac as a group is done as a live group, but happy that we still get these two out.

Stevie Nicks was nervous. It was 1973, and the then-25-year-old singer and her guitarist boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham were posing for the cover of their first album, “Buckingham Nicks.” Their record label had asked the duo to look “sexy,” and the bookish Nicks was already feeling self-conscious when the photographer told her to remove her diaphanous white blouse.
She didn’t want to do it. Buckingham lost it.
“Don’t be a f-king child,” the then-24-year-old guitarist snapped. “This is art!”
Stevie Nicks, now 69, is often referred to as the “Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll,” with more than 40 top-50 hits to her credit, both as part of the supergroup Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist. But according to “Gold Dust Woman” (St. Martin’s Press, out Nov. 21) - a new biography by Stephen Davis - she did it all despite Buckingham’s bullying and abuse.

Nicks and Buckingham met in high school in San Mateo, Calif. They were in a band called Fritz when they decided to move to Los Angeles and launch a career as a duo in 1971. Yet while Nicks hustled to make rent, cleaning houses and waiting tables, Buckingham, who said he couldn’t work because he had to devote himself to music full-time, would spend most of the day smoking hash with his friends.

“I’d come in every day and have to step over these bodies,” Nicks later recalled to Rolling Stone. “I’m tired; I’m pickin’ up their legs and cleaning under them and emptying out ashtrays.”
Nicks felt violated after the album-cover incident and when their debut bombed, she almost quit music. But in January 1975, the duo received a call: Drummer Mick Fleetwood wanted them to join his band Fleetwood Mac.
The opportunity would launch the pair to superstardom but further strain their relationship.
“When they first joined the band, Lindsey had control [over Nicks],” Mick Fleetwood said. “And, very slowly, he began to lose control. And he really didn’t like it.”
Their first album with the band, “Fleetwood Mac,” released in 1975, was a hit, but the jealous Buckingham didn’t like that Nicks’ songs “Rhiannon” and “Landslide,” about their fading romance, had eclipsed his own.
When recording the band’s 1977 follow-up, “Rumours,” he criticized Nicks’ writing and told her she needed him to make her songs sound halfway decent.
She said he was “hijacking” her music and told her mother that her now-ex had gotten physical with her during a row and had “thrown her down to the floor.”

Things went further downhill during their 1980 “Tusk” tour. At a concert in Wellington, New Zealand, Buckingham tried to trip Nicks onstage and began imitating her moves. While Nicks was singing “Rhiannon,” the guitarist stopped playing and attempted to kick her.
The rest of the band was shocked, but only singer Christine McVie confronted him about it. Buckingham, who reportedly never apologized, has stated that he doesn’t remember the incident.
Nicks continued to play with Fleetwood Mac, even after launching her own record label and putting out her own No. 1 album, “Bella Donna,” in 1981. She would grit her teeth as she and Buckingham would pretend to kiss after performing “Landslide” every night on tour.
One time, during a heated argument in front of the band in 1987, Buckingham, the book says, “manhandled Stevie, slapped her face and bent her backward over the hood of his car. He put his fingers around her neck and started to choke her.”
Nicks said: “I thought he was going to kill me.” This time, her band stood up to him. He wouldn’t lay a hand on her again.
Buckingham’s spokesperson did not reply to requests for comment.
Over time, Nicks continued to reach out to Buckingham, asking him to produce and play guitar on her 1996 song “Twisted.” She said they made amends in 2013 and he agreed to treat her with respect. But of course, Buckingham couldn’t dismiss Nicks any longer. The band needed her talent and fan base (which these days includes young acts such as Haim and Lana Del Rey) more than she needed them.
As Davis writes in “Gold Dust Woman,” by the time of their reconciliation, “Stevie was an American legend, but Lindsey’s star would eventually fade away.”

Lindsey saved these talentless has been and made them virtually immortal in music history. They thanked him by making his life miserable. He never should have come back. Without him on stage they are just a cover band. Nicks should be committed. She has the worst personality disorder in rock.
