Watching Joe shoot down Howard's romanticism is funny. They took refuge in each other. That's very honest.
I mean it’s decades later and they both were much younger and both were dealing with substance abuse issues at the time, so his sobriety (no pun intended) about the nature of the relationship is not surprising. She’s pretty matter of fact about it these days as well, though she talks more about what specifically inspired the song which had to do with Joe’s deceased child.

Stevie really is a free spirit. Even tho she loves intensely she is a wild heart and an extreme individual. To listen to how she collates music 🎶 and brings sounds together is an amazing experience in itself. Joe Walsh was the love of her life. ❤

It didn't occur while he was married to her. And Joe seemed genuinely surprised. She's older, has her career, but I am sure she has many regrets. She gave up any chance at having a stable family life for her career. And while she has had a great career, I am sure there is some loneliness.

I think what he meant was both of them were in an unhealthy state and could not have a healthy relationship at the time.

It's hard when we spend our days tied up in knots over a person who could never have loved us nor had any intention to marry us. Poor Stevie Don't waste your tears, your time or your lives people. The wake up call is painful but better that it comes than not at all.

Yes and Dave Stewart overheard it since he had stayed the night with Nicks. Tom Petty got the benefit of that scenario.

The verse “edge of 17” came from Pettys wife.....Stevie asked her how long she had known Tom? She replied “since the age of 17”, but Nicks thought she said “edge”....then asked Pettys wife if she could use it in a song?
I don't think that's true. I believe Dave Stewart wrote that song after sleeping with Nicks and she said that to him. Don't believe she woulda EVER said that about Joe Walsh. He lost interest. They weren't "good" for each other. According to all I've read anyway.

He was a lucky man to have Stevie in his life, an incredible and naturally beautiful woman.
But if you read up about her, as I have she's not a nice person . I've read multiple articles and after once being a huge fan, was extremely disillusioned . There's a reason why she is alone

Howard has always had a tendency to load every question. Puts his guests on the spot. Makes for overtly formulated, half answers.
Especially when HE wants a sensational answer, but the guests honest answers don't jive with that. He almost tries to will it into existence.

Nicks and Walsh DATED for 4 years? That's QUITE a length of "dating" among those kinda lifestyles (even back then) .
I don’t think they were truly together for that long. I think they were tightest on their 1983 tour, but the relationship soured the following year.

Friend of mine said someone invited him to a party in Glen Ellyn IL and when he showed up Walsh & Stevie were there hitting the rails pretty hard. He couldn't hardly believe it he thought he was tripping. Go to a party in GLEN ELLYN(???!!!) and end up doing lines with Joe Walsh & Stevie Nicks. Hilarious.

He's said nothing but nice things about her over the years. You weren't there so stop inserting yourself in people's personal lives and get one of your own.
And very married. I believe he is still married to the same woman now.
@@leeannasloan2292 he is not married to Juanita Boyer anymore, they divorced in 1988. It's also worth noting that they wasn't much of marriage there either when Joe and Stevie were dating, as he and his wife were estranged.
