What a spectacular album and group. That they could be so dysfunctional, yet work together is amazing and a testimonial to their professionalism (and pain tolerance). That has to bring to mind Phil Collins and his first album, Face Value. But he did not relive the angst on stage with his wife. Not meaning to create an iconic rock hit, it didn't make the pain his wife had to go through every time it was played any less. Guess that is why Phil says the doesn't know what 'In The Air Tonight' is sung about. You can't walk away from an epic, but you can try to not talk about it.
A demo of Go Your Own Way includes the word 'solo' after 'Go your own way.' The song is not just about the break up of a love relationship but also of her threat to leave the band and take her songs with her. Stevie Nicks would be a tough pill for me to even think about swallowing, what with all her coke usage and being the drummer.
Don't do drugs or cheat is the lesson Fleetwood Mac learned. They wouldn't have had as much turmoil... But without all the chaos, they wouldn't have manifested such musical alchemy. I hope they can heal from everything they endured.
Ingratitude. That's what Fleetwood Mac showed Lindsey Buckingham, who took them from a well known blues rock band, to global superstars. And Stevie Nicks was at the front of it. Lindsey was talent, the rest of those people were just along for Lindsey's ride.
I wouldn't say the "old" Fleetwood mac members were talentless. However, the bands sound on "Fleetwood Mac" and "Rumours" is a duplication of the sound of Buckingham and Nicks 1973 album, "Buckingham Nicks". The song "Crystal" is actually directly from "Buckingham Nicks". "Fleetwood Mac" and "Rumours" are in many ways "Buckingham Nicks" second and third albums with better backing musicians and collaborators.
She was brilliant. Why do people hate her so much??? 😮 Can you not at the very least appreciate her talent, if you can't be respectful. Go heal, please. Enough with the double standard 🙄
She hates Go your own way because it's true. She has no time for honesty. It's got to be her way or no way. She wants to pretend she wasn't screwing every guy she thought was cute. She's never lived in the real world. Without him, her music, her persona, wouldn't have happened. Listen to her. Her list of guys she shacked up with is long. She's spent fifty years talking about Lindsey. If she wasn't so busy making babies to abort with other guys, they might have made it together.
@shiroibasketshoes She's talented indeed. But she's delusional. Listen to her. She called Joe Walsh the love of her life, he called their time together snorting coke and having sex. She said herself, she saw him sitting somewhere thought he was cute and went over and hopped on his lap and it was on. Like I said her list is long. I'm a fan of her music but I can't respect somebody who shows no appreciation for those who made her career possible and is so proud of making babies irresponsibly and killing them with abortion as birth control because "being Stevie Nick's rock star" was so important to the world. She's a terrible person.
Yes, her list of lovers is long. She likes to point her finger at Buckingham (who has his faults as everyone does), but she likes to paint herself as a sweet person. Watching her waving her skirt around throughout a whole concert is bloody annoying. Yes, she is definitely a talented individual, but she is a hypocrite. Buckingham made her a star.
@@NorsePJ Who she loved is none of our business unless she chooses to let us know. I think she has always seemed modest in interviews. She became a star on her own merits and she helped Buckingham's career.
Not when he's the only reason she was ever in Fleerwood Mac. They didn't invite her to join, only him. So, she has him to thank and she never does. And her whole sound was crafted by him because she can't play an instrument or write her own music. She's a lyricist and singer. She has him to thank.
What does it profit to gain the whole world yet lose your soul?

It's almost comical how much passion ya'll put into your comments 😂

Stevie can cry all the alligator tears she wants, but she wrote plenty of songs about Lindsey too! I have no empathy for her!

Humbug!
You think almost as highly of Lindsay as he does.

I’ve never heard of anyone hating her except in this thread to be honest. Her songs were the best IMO and she was SO CUTE!
Shallow people pretending to be deep. Always performing in one way or another. IMHO
She doesn't sing that one
Yes she does.
She is not the lead but she sings in that song.

I'm sure she was not intimate with every guy she thought was cute. You don't have to be so disrespectful to her; she is very talented.
