    Thanks for the details.
Without knowing fundamentals of ayurveda, To solve my issues I tried and experimented so many foods.
And surprisingly I ended up with all your suggested foods.
Like Ghee, Lavan Bhaskar/Salt, Curd, Pineapple etc
I am sure below foods also must be good for Vata people(As it suites me/Vata):
    Angeer/Figs, Rice(Sweet), Wheat etc.

I was vegan for 10 years and it completely ruined me…since I am eating dairy again I feel fine! Sometimes when my Vata is completely out of balance I do consume some meat for grounding…as a medicine

So well explained, thank you so much! Love the balanced and at ease and stress free way of your examples as well... and how you mention everything in nature can be medicine when taken by the right person at the right time... also interesting to notice how intuitively or otherwise guided we are towards the right qualities.... also the room temperature yogurt example was a lovely point to make and like an aha-moment of "this makes sense" (i think from another video).... have been leaving food outside the fridge a little bit and will do it more .... currently here trying to bring together ayurvedic food combining and vata dosha suitable foods (as well as phytic acid low diet) and the recommendations found so far don't really always seem to agree :)... study in progress.... wishing to do really well/be perfect with it all can create a fair bit of tension and take time etc. when looking to make beneficial changes all in one go.... like in a burst, which might be a vata thing :) .... your at ease balanced calm approach is a lovely counterpoint.... and all the info much appreciated... many thanks for it all.... ( including the pancake example :) ... blessings from London, UK.

Thank you Dr Halpern for this video. I have issues with vata, am learning but it took ages. For me, I like oats, rice, ghee, cooked fruit, dates, sardines, cooked warm soups, carrot juice, grapefruit, walnuts, ground flaxseed. I try to avoid cold foods, red meat, cheese, eggs.

I have been experiencing asthma for the first time in years and I have been told that for asthma I should eliminate kapha-aggrevating foods (gooey, heavy...), which is exactly what you recommend for a vata imbalance. I am super vata and would love to balance it more but I am so desperate to heal my asthma! Do you have any advice on what type of diet I should eat for asthma considering I'm vata?

I'm quite extremely Vata and whenever I eat just a little too much fermented food like cheese and what-nots, the sinus gods come down hard on me. It will literally take weeks to heal.

I'm 70% Vata, sinus with milk products, sugar, gluten. Feel much better without meat. Bloating with chicken, gluten, sugar. Sweet potato, eggs, plums, most sub-acid fruits, oats are great for me. Best meat probably chicken as red meat takes 3 to 4 days to go thru. Fish is good but depends on spiece. Namaste.

Eliminate chicken and dairy and eat just fresh fruits and fresh greens. Gluten and sugar and meats cause cancer and diabetes.

I would say that I‘m Vata.
But I‘m actually not thin and easy to gain weight. I’m 172 cm and weigh 71 kg.
But I mostly feel nervous and on the edge. Bloated and constipated.
Plus, I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
I‘m confused about my big body and not loosing weight in relation to Vata.

Be careful about grains,Im vata and I get insomnia and anxiety due to grains because grains nowaday are very different than last century and also we have only been eating grains for the last 10.000 years so definitely I recommend cuting out grains and see how you feel,I feel way more relaxed no bloating and all and sleep way better.

AyurvedaCollege Thank you for the advice but in currently doing a paleo diet so I only eat rice and have cut out all other grains and feel great,I tried having gluten products twice and got insomnia and anxiety. Also I dont eat anything cold as its not so good for vata dosha but yes every body is a different world but in my opinion a lot of people can't tolerate gluten and are not aware of it thats why I definitely recommend trying without and then after some weeks try again with gluten and experience if theres any changes.Kind regards.Peace and Love.

    • @bharatpant91

I hope you are doing good now. There are ayurvedic medicines to deal with parasitic infections such as "Krimi Mudgar ras" and "Krimi kuthar ras" Both costs around USD2 in India. Try consulting a practising ayurvedic practitioner for this as well.

In the case of a Vata and/or Kapha imbalance it will be the best to take several times during the week early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (= 15 ml) castor oil. You will be astonished upon the effects!
