Now THIS was a great one for some deep vocal analysis -- Dimash's voice is incredible, with so many interesting facets/characteristics to break down. I really enjoy digging in to all the tricks in his bag of vocal versatility -- there's SO much to consider. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did! ALSO, IMPORTANT PSA: Guys, we reached the $12,000 goal for the music video! I am shocked and so, so grateful for the level of support I've gotten on this project. 😁 SOS sure is a vocal rollercoaster... (I just have to tell about a fun little story from when Dimash was rehearsing a performance with Aida Garifullina, a professional opera singer. Aida, as she had to leave, turned to Dimash and said "you can keep practicing, sing my part too" 😆)

Cannot wait to see your video! I was a classically trained singer when I was young but due to some very severe trauma (being strangled many times and having my larynx crushed) plush chronic esophagitis caused me to completely stop singing for over 25 years. It was like I “forgot” about that part of my life. I guess trauma does that 🙁 Thanks to Dimash I have started working on my voice again. I know it will probably never be close to what it once was but the world of vocal music was magically unlocked for me when I first heard him. It was Ogni Pietra. It saved my life to be completely honest. I was in a really bad flare of lupus/scleroderma thT affects my heart and lungs. I was so sick and I could barely get out of bed. I would listen to him sing Ogni pietra over and over and it would inspire me that I COULD make it. I am an artist and it calls out to the poets and warriors and it spoke so deeply to me. It took a year for me to recover, but it’s three years later and I am not only up and out of bed but I just bought a basket for my dog to ride on ON MY BIKE!! 💪🏼🙏🏼🤟🏼 Good luck to you Peter. You have a phenomenal voice. 😍 keep following your dreams!!
I'm so glad that you have found a way to heal from your trauma. I can only imagine how it feels to reclaim your voice after so long, but I'm not surprised that other health benefits have followed. You will forever feel a sense of connection with Dimash for the inspiration and hope that he has given you. Truly, this is the redemptive power of art and music.
@@Ozymandi_as yes! Truly!!!! I also reclaimed my passion for art that I had no idea I was any good at. Lol. Great reaction. Admittedly, I never turn away from Dimash reactions, but you’re truly one of the best reaction/analyst videos out there. Looking forward to your video cover!
Would love to see you react to his performance of Samaltau for the Tokyo Jazz festival. It's a different side of him--very stripped down, singing a Kazakh folk song.
Another singer you might enjoy reacting to is one of Dimash's major influences: Lara Fabian. Her performance of Je Suis Malade in her special From Lara with Love is an absolute masterclass in emotive singing. No one pours their entire self into a song like she does.
I loved your analysis. I also love how a super talented singer like yourself truly appreciates a talent like Dimash. I have seen some singers reacting to Dimash, who literally questioned their existence as singers and stopped reacting to Dimash! I always thought that if I were a singer, I would use Dimash to figure out what's possible and the different ways a voice could be used to denote different emotions, etc... But Dimash has been honing in his talent since he was 5 years old. I truly believe that very young singers should get a whole lot of knowledge of where they want to go musically by studying the decisions that Dimash had to make.

That F#5 is clearly his “comfort” zone. He goes there a lot. Thanks! He does some spectacular belting in his song Daybreak at Bastau 2017. 🔥 He also sings a bit without the mike in his song Autumn Strong (Arnau tour) at the end.
thats still crazy. been listening for years now.... and to have f#5 as a comfort zone is absurd. that version of autumn strong is prolly my favourite. on a side note... i hate suits usually... dude makes me want a suit....
If you want to hear intimate even more than this you should definitely react to his performance of Ikanaide 2021 from the 20th Tokyo Jazz festival. Also just as a point of clarification he does not always go to his high notes or belting. It depends on what the song calls for and he has several performances where he stays in his middle range the entire song. There is also a video that might interest you with Dimash and Andrea Bocelli "playing around" vocally backstage at an event with Andrea playing the piano.
Yes, quaragym-ai, Marigolds and Amanat are among my absolute favourites and he doesn’t use any vocal acrobatics or extreme high or low notes, but they are so intimate and mesmerising.
I grew up loving to sing & music in general, yet never realized how little I really know! I am addicted to listening to you & learning as much as my old brain can soak in. Thanks for what you do, you're a great teacher!!!
He is so mind blowing, one of my favourite Dimash songs. You are very knowledgeable, I really enjoy watching your reactions, please do more Dimash. ....
Thoroughly appreciated your very detailed reaction. He has sung opera with Aida and Andrea Bocelli. Wouldn’t it be amazing for Dimash to have a live performance only for professional singers, vocal coaches, and other professionals. Then followed by a five hour interaction between Dimash and the professionals discussing his technique. I often send clips of Dimash to my brother and he recently sent me one of your clips. I’m glad to find you and will definitely check out your other Dimash reactions.
20:52 - the look of "horror" (in the best way possible) on Peter's face because of the way Dimash is absolutely murdering (also in the best way possible) this song, got me giggling. And the fact that it was followed by immediately contentment because, you know, it's Dimash, cracks me up too!
I'm pretty sure that the Slavic or Slavianski Baazar is a large festival held in Belarus yearly. Also I would highly recommend watching his duet with the Peking Opera singer Li Yugang for a very unique sound, or Love is Like a Dream for if the very breathy more intimate sound.
THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!…… SOS 2021: Hey, Dude!!…I have watched over 1000 reactions to Dimash... Really interesting to hear your opera-specific points and an insight into its requirements. Dimash is a great "fusion singer" indeed. The difference in coordination between the different styles reveals hundreds if not thousands of hours of practice, trial and error, and a dogged, personal commitment to excellence.
His vocal tone is what that takes over all the techniques actually...his vocal sound is magical...its something one has to be born with. Its amazing and beautiful.
I enjoy your explanations. “Passione”(Moscow version)would be a fun performance to dive into. It’s not heard as much as other songs but it’s quite a production. Dimash is amazing.
You're one of the most in-depth analysts I've seen on this platform. You fully understand and explain even the most minute changes and techniques noone else has done, yet. It's really captivating to learn how exactly the techniques are being used and when, and lastly why. I rarely get imagined pictures in my mind, but this video specifically did that after having listened to a couple of reactions prior to this. I believe I'm starting to grasp the musical technical aspect thanks to you.
Thanks for another brilliant analysis and reaction. Di mash always amazes and astounds us. After this, you can look at: 1) Passione 2) Ulisse, a duet with Aida Garifullina 3) Ti Amo Cosi, a trio with Aida and Lara Fabian
a concert in Moscow years ago he sang Autumn strong and he at one point lowered the microphone down to his hip and had no difficulty being heard I don't know if it was augmented but it was very impressive
what i love in this video is peters reactions /analysis of dimash singing. peter has realy have a very wide range of knowledge in music worthy of our praises. i learned a lot.
Really enjoy your reactions and analysis. Dimash' "Autumn Strong" at the Arnau tour 2020 at the end he sings high notes with the microphone down by his side so you can hear what he sounds like with very little amplification. Just make sure it's the video where he is wearing a red suit!!!!!!!!
Okay so enjoying this lots, I would like to offer you a chance to hear him without mice singing for Andrea Bocelli to maybe get the body and strength of he’s voice improvising for Andrea, you’ll find the video if you search it. Plus there is a concert performance of Autum strong, where he ends the performance with an operatic note pulling the microphone completely away from he’s mouth to show the strength of he’s voice, he wears a red suit and he starts the song sitting on a stool. And there are some random videos of him singing for sudden request that suggest the body of he’s volume. Blessings.
Thank you very much for your professionalism, sincere emotions and qualitative analysis. I sincerely wish you creative success and health to you and your loved ones! Happy New Year!
Nice reaction again. If you like Dimash's high mixes, then I recommend his cover version of Hello by Lionel Ritchie from The Singer in China. His high mix with Eastern influences in the final part of the song is simply breathtaking.
Absolute dedication to his craft, never stopping, ever improving. The Samurai of vocal practitioners/innovators - devotion fleshed out in pursuit of that ever illusive perfection to which he is finger-touching close. I enjoy your skill in analysing this giant of an artist.
It’s always great to see analysis of Dimash from someone knowledgeable about music and singing! I really enjoyed your reaction-you should listen to Dimash’s duet with Li Yugang, a traditional Chinese opera singer who specializes in singing female roles. They sung Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance. Incredible vocal performances from both singers, and Dimash really shows his vocal control in the high registers here.
I agree, his versatility and ability to switch between dirrerent techniques in the middle of a frase is what is the most uniqe about him. Thanks for a great analysis, as you always do.
There is a behind the scenes clip from a video starring Igor Krutoy and Dimash, where in a break, Dimash (unmiked) throws off a few notes and it fills every nook and cranny of the space. His projection is wild. I wish I could remember where I saw that!!
He sings the last note of Autumn Strong at his live concert and takes the microphone away There is a video complication of his singing with no microphone
Amazing observation and break down. Dimash started singing this song I believe in 2012 and performed it every year up until his recent Dubai concert [both performance and in concert], except maybe last year 2021 and every version has obvious improvement up until 2020. This year's recent performance, has a few spots pulled back but nonetheless great performance! There was a version in Acapella, no microphone in an opera house, but I couldn't find the link. There is a link to the Acapella version with microphone tho. Good luck with your video project!
I loved your reaction and I look forward to the next one. I recommend to continue with the song Sinful passion , Ogni prieta or if you like some more rock can be the song Across endless dimentions Dimash can with all styles and records ! A loving embrace from Chile 🇨🇱.
Brilliant reaction and analysis as usual Peter! You have to check out sinful passion next. Its going to blow your mind from range to breath control. No spoilers but theres a 20+seconds section with one breath in the song!!!
Hi Peter. Thanks for the great reaction as always. I absolutely love Dimash. It is like a master class, indeed. Good luck with your project. Greetings from Tasmania Australia xx 🇦🇺🦘
Thanks for the reaction! You were commenting on how his tone at the end just fades into air - interestingly, he has been working on that technique a lot for the last couple years to the point where he uses breath artistically in some of his later performances. If you go back to Stranger, he uses it some in the beginning part. I also recommend Love is Like a Dream (the one on his channel) for some of his most sensitive singing. Looking forward to a reaction of some of his work with other singers - I think I already recommended his trio of Ti amo cosi with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina, and someone else mentioned him singing with an operatic tenor.
Dear Sir, loved your reaction! In an interview Dimash said he’s A tenor. But, most important to know is that hè Will not let him put in A box. After seen more of him, you Will understand and probably agree 😄😊
You should totally analyze his video when he sang with a operatic tenor. They sang a song from the Hunchback of Notre Dame opera. It’s very underrated.
If you like his belting I think you will really enjoy his 2017 performances of Adagio and All By Myself (complete with operatic cadenza) from the Chinese talent show I Am Singer. His appearances on that show that made his name. Thanks for continuing to check out Dimash and sharing your insights.
Thank you for your super reaction! It's so good to understand, in theory at least, what Dimash ist doing, technically speaking, because most of the Dears are not professional singers, of course...We just love his voice, music and emotion. To be able to comprehend the high level of difficulty of his performances makes me even more appreciative of his talent, genius and especially hard work. Thank you so much for your input. By the way, you are a magnificent singer and your voice is simply amazing, when singing and speaking as well ( sorry for my English, it' s a little bit rusty). Please react to Sinful Passion, Ikanaide, Across endless dimensions, Tu vas me detruire (a duet with a bariton singer). Thank you so much, greetings from Germany.
I heard this song sung by Dimash maybe ten or twelve different versions. This one is perfection and the Digital Show's is the transition to eternity. But there are others as powerful as these two, beautiful, more or less intimately sung. Simply amazing all of them. It was composed 20 years before Dimash's birth but it is definitely his.
Peter, I have a 2-fold complimentary critique; your speaking voice already precedes how your singing is probably impressive and your insightful analysis is heartfelt, educated, and zero ego in sharing your experiential knowledge. You and Cedric are the best as real artist. I wish the best, Peter, in your personal goals.
It's impossible not to break "character" while listening to Dimash, you have an amazing technical analysis but at some points the analyst in you just gives way to the music lover and it's great to see you just enjoy his magic. Great reaction and keep them coming. PS : You should definitely react to Across endless dimensions where he has a belt that sounds like an electric guitar. It's a soundtrack for a movie and it has a more "rock" feel to it. I think it will be your wheelhouse :)
Thanks Peter! Great reaction emotional and professional 😍! I very love this song SOS. Dimash is incredible Artist and Singer!!! My version favourite from Dubai 2022.
SOS, is a song from Starmania, a Canadian-French cyberpunk rock opera written in 1976. This is a song about depression & thoughts of suicide. Enjoy the journey, you've only just begun. .
S.O.S. of a Soul in Distress Why do I live, why do I die? Why do I laugh, why do I cry? Here is the SOS of a man in distress
I've never had both feet upon the ground I'd rather be a bird I don't fit into this skin I'd like to see the world turned upside down If ever it were beautiful It's lovelier from above, from above I've always confused life with the comic strips Even wished I could transform I feel something That draws me That draws me That draws me up
Into the great lotto of the universe I don't have the right numbers I don't fit into this skin I don't want to be a robot Eating, working, sleeping
Why do I live, why do I die Why do I live, why do I cry I think I'm catching waves From another world I've never had both feet upon the ground I'd rather be a bird I'd like to see the world turned upside down I'd rather be a bird Sleep, child, sleep
Hi,please react Dimash in Ikanaide in Tokio jazz 2022,for mi the vocal tecnic is incredible, and the end of the song is crezy. Thank you, ciao da Venezia italy
Let's be honest: it would not take DImash years to become a world-class opera singer--if he so chose. He's uniquely talented vocally. I know that it validates opera singers to claim that it would take him years or even decades to find his place in their niche, but...Dimash. He's already the best vocalist in the history of the world. Cheers.
Makes me tear up for sure. Also I like his visual performance as well. Graceful, full of emotion. Thank you for the analysis. I know zero about singing but I enjoy hearing you explain.

Slavic Bazar is actually a competition mainly among young talented singers, Dimash here is as an invited guest, the winner of previous competition...

THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!……
SOS 2021: Hey, Dude!!…I have watched over 1000 reactions to Dimash... I know, I’ve got a problem -but forget that- every time HE adds details that make this song even more PERFECT!…..B2-E6 (5octaves song)….visually beautiful!….My❤️ is in🔥by the 👑 ! 🇰🇿🇲🇽🇰🇿….saludos desde México…..
Really interesting to hear your opera-specific points and an insight into its requirements.
Dimash is a great "fusion singer" indeed. The difference in coordination between the different styles reveals hundreds if not thousands of hours of practice, trial and error, and a dogged, personal commitment to excellence.

Dimash surprises us with each song , he is so talented and versatile ,he is the greatest vocalist in the world ever !!!
His vocal tone is what that takes over all the techniques actually...his vocal sound is magical...its something one has to be born with. Its amazing and beautiful.
He really has a great voice.
After this, you can look at:
1) Passione
2) Ulisse, a duet with Aida Garifullina
3) Ti Amo Cosi, a trio with Aida and Lara Fabian
Duet Dimash & Zarina Altynbaeva
Duet Dimash & Sundet Baigozhin
Ave Maria

a concert in Moscow years ago he sang Autumn strong and he at one point lowered the microphone down to his hip and had no difficulty being heard I don't know if it was augmented but it was very impressive
Dimash grandioso!!!!
Thank you 🙏 for your great analysis of Dimash’s vocal abilities - unbelievably he is still getting better as he continues to learn! Plymouth UK 🇬🇧
Hola, Peter. Abrazos.
Just phenomenal masterpiece vocal in the universe ever!!! Thanks for your analysis so knowledgeable...
Thanks for another Dimash Analysis, was so great seeing someone do a reaction to one my my first ever Dimash performances. & you didn't disappoint.
I love your reaction to our Angel Dear Dimash, great... #fromPhilippineswithlove 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭💐🌹🌼🌷🌺✌️✌️✌️😂😂😂💞💖💞💖🎆🎁🌲🏅🏆
Hi Peter. You just made my day. Thank you!
what i love in this video is peters reactions /analysis of dimash singing. peter has realy have a very wide range of knowledge in music worthy of our praises. i learned a lot.
I became addicted to Dimash, daily I’ve spend my days listening to coaches reactions, I love it, he may be from another galaxy, am I wrong?
Really enjoy your reactions and analysis. Dimash' "Autumn Strong" at the Arnau tour 2020 at the end he sings high notes with the microphone down by his side so you can hear what he sounds like with very little amplification. Just make sure it's the video where he is wearing a red suit!!!!!!!!
Hola!!! Gracias❤❤❤❤
I have been waiting for this, thank you! Really enjoyed your reaction. Please react to Dimash singing "Ulisse" with Aida Garifullina
At the end of singing Autumn Strong at the Kiev concert (his last concert before pandemic restrictions) he sang the last few notes without a mic.
Nice reaction again. If you like Dimash's high mixes, then I recommend his cover version of Hello by Lionel Ritchie from The Singer in China. His high mix with Eastern influences in the final part of the song is simply breathtaking.
Thank you Peter. I always look forward to your breakdown of performances. It's also fun to watch your mind being blown.
Absolute dedication to his craft, never stopping, ever improving. The Samurai of vocal practitioners/innovators - devotion fleshed out in pursuit of that ever illusive perfection to which he is finger-touching close. I enjoy your skill in analysing this giant of an artist.
Dimash is a genius!Dimash number one!Thanks for the reaction.👏👏👏🇷🇺

It’s always great to see analysis of Dimash from someone knowledgeable about music and singing! I really enjoyed your reaction-you should listen to Dimash’s duet with Li Yugang, a traditional Chinese opera singer who specializes in singing female roles. They sung Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance. Incredible vocal performances from both singers, and Dimash really shows his vocal control in the high registers here.
You gave one of the best and most thorough reactions yet👍 for Dimash’s 🆘 song. There’s just so much to enjoy about Dimash. Love your voice too.
I agree, his versatility and ability to switch between dirrerent techniques in the middle of a frase is what is the most uniqe about him. Thanks for a great analysis, as you always do.
This guy is so refreshing to listen to. Always new things to learn. Thanks for the video analysis. We can't wait to watch your music video 🙌
Thanks, lovely morning to enjoy SOS again with fresh mind. Keep them detailed, honest and let feelings to show.
Covering 2 octaves in that one breath with crazy runs. Gotta do it!

Hi Peter. Thanks for the great reaction as always. I absolutely love Dimash. It is like a master class, indeed. Good luck with your project. Greetings from Tasmania Australia xx 🇦🇺🦘
thanks a lot for such amazing reaction\analysis\your emotions, feelings and your time for recording this reaction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song was my introduction to Dimash when I became a Dear. It's fun to hear your take on this mind blowing performance.

welcome to Dimash world 😁🤜🤛 Great reaction and comment 👍🔥🥳 Welcome to Kazakhstan 🇰🇿❤️
Dimashi again 💞💞 Thank you!
SOS from the digital show is the best and latest version with more rock elements in it. But anyway, thank you ❤
good day to you ..Peter Barber ..you are not to bad your self.. love your bass voice you are a very good singer as well..greetings from CANADA
I was last saturday in Düsseldorf concert. It was incredible, amazing, Perfection, beatiful...🇪🇨🇩🇪😉❤️🔥🥰
Liquid Gold
Dimash is phenomenal. Bravo Dimash.
Great analysis and review. Thank you so much. More Dimash please.
Dimash - Tu vas me detruire
Sundet Baigozhin is a bass or bass-baritone. Very low voice. And yes, that performance is amazing.
Thank you I just suggested this and remember he was younger in this xxxx
Ooo do you have a link??

Hard to believe but you are right on.
You are lovely
You are amazing
Love you
So cool
Great personality xxxxx
DIMASH IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD
It's impossible not to break "character" while listening to Dimash, you have an amazing technical analysis but at some points the analyst in you just gives way to the music lover and it's great to see you just enjoy his magic. Great reaction and keep them coming. PS : You should definitely react to Across endless dimensions where he has a belt that sounds like an electric guitar. It's a soundtrack for a movie and it has a more "rock" feel to it. I think it will be your wheelhouse :)
Love what you do. You are one of my FAVORITE Reactors!!! Keep em coming!!! You are a treat to watch and listen to.
Enjoy the journey, you've only just begun. .
S.O.S. of a Soul in Distress
Why do I live, why do I die?
Why do I laugh, why do I cry?
Here is the SOS of a man in distress
I've never had both feet upon the ground
I'd rather be a bird
I don't fit into this skin
I'd like to see the world turned upside down
If ever it were beautiful
It's lovelier from above, from above
I've always confused life
with the comic strips
Even wished I could transform
I feel something
That draws me
That draws me
That draws me up
Into the great lotto of the universe
I don't have the right numbers
I don't fit into this skin
I don't want to be a robot
Eating, working, sleeping
Why do I live, why do I die
Why do I live, why do I cry
I think I'm catching waves
From another world
I've never had both feet upon the ground
I'd rather be a bird
I'd like to see the world turned upside down
I'd rather be a bird
Sleep, child, sleep
Hi,please react Dimash in Ikanaide in Tokio jazz 2022,for mi the vocal tecnic is incredible, and the end of the song is crezy. Thank you, ciao da Venezia italy
I've been waiting for this!
mee too
Top of the top and over
Let's be honest: it would not take DImash years to become a world-class opera singer--if he so chose.
