This was 4 years ago when he was 23. You should hear him today! He is THE greatest singer of ALL time! Dimash won this competition in 2015, he’s a guest singer here in 2018. In 2021 he was a judge.

You just witnessed the greatest vocalist of all time. He was 23 in this performance (27 now).He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend “Sinful Passion “ 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Believe it or not, he’s only gotten better. Each performance will leave you stunned.

Dimash only speaks 3 languages now. He has mentioned that Mandarin was too hard so he quit. He has performed in all of these languages but for German & Spanish, there are only partial songs. I know this because I keep a spreadsheet of all his available songs. He has only sung in 13 languages.
Also keep in mind, he does not showcase his whole range in all of his songs, so do not go into every song expecting everything.

I am a fan of Dimash, Angelina Jordan, Diana Ankudinova (wait till you hear her!), Lara Fabian (Dimash's idol growing up - he covered many of her songs and sang duets with her), and many others. Dimash by far has the best vocal ability and is therefore the best vocalist in the world. However, this doesn't mean everyone will say he is their FAVORITE singer as that's a matter of taste based on preferred genre of music, tone of voice, and a myriad of other factors. Regardless, you haven't seen anything yet. I am jealous of the journey that you're about to embark on. While many singers have 1 or a handful of masterpieces, most of Dimash's are masterpieces. To the extent he missed the mark sometimes, it was because he was still mastering the English language at the time. He's now much better at it than a few years ago. His life is a continuous journey of self-improvement, at least from the age of 5. So it's better to start with his old songs before getting to the new stuff. It will blow your mind how he was able to improve on perfection!

This beautiful song: "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" was written almost 20 years before Dimash was born, but definitely this Kazakh man made it his forever, when Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger composed it they had no idea who was going to be its final owner because no one can take it away from Dimash Qudaibergen any more.

@@chouanne67 I like this song, the first one Daniel Balavoine sang, written for him and his range, but it's more rocky, of course. But, after that, he wrote his own songs and they're amazing, his voice too... He composed, wrote and sang them. One of his most beautiful ones is "Tous les cris les SOS". He died in helicopter accident as he was invested in humanitarian help for Africa. French people still sing his songs, and we miss him very much. I thank Dimash to make this artist famous, lot of people around the world listen to Daniel after that. Dimash also collaborated with Lara Fabian, a Belgium /Canadian artist very famous in our country, she helped him a lot, they sang together and they have lot of respect for each other. French language is difficult, he made progress but maybe he tried to teach it after his first performances, because that was hard for him. Bravo!

I really like his sing-off with Li Yugang singing Drunken Concubine/Diva Dance. He plays a little with extreme vocals-whistle notes off the charts that actually work in the song. Plus that mashup of musical and cultural styles is really cool.
Some say he’s not human. Some say he’s a robot, an alien or an angel. I’m just grateful and feel blessed that Dimash exists because his voice, talent and personality bring hope, tranquility and togetherness especially this time of uncertainty.

He donates the flowers to nursing homes and other charities so I am told by other reactors or commentors; he is very humble and swims daily if provided the chance; I think his breathing capacity allows for seemless transitioning between octaves and the ability to flip from a high to a low instantaneously. As fabulous as Dimash is in this video, he was only about 22 at the time he performed SOS at this Slavic Bazaar. He has expanded his range and his voice is even better. His range and versatility are beautifully showcased in Stranger. He has incredible talent and presence.

Besides speaking many languages, Dimash expertly plays 7 instruments, and recently got his PhD in music apart from his 2 Masters degrees. Whatever genre of music you like he has a song, original or cover of it, from pop, metal, rock, rap, opera, popra, ballads, you name it he can sing it. He has over a 6 octave range, and always gives 100% in every performance. Welcome to his world. I am addicted to him. He IS the best male vocalist on the planet, and I believe Angelina Jordan is the best female singer.

To clarify, one university degree in opera and one masters degree in musicology...currently working towards a phd but not there yet.
He has his university degree in music with emphasis on Jazz and Pop. He has a masters on composition and currently making his PHD on Musicology.

Small correction, Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He now has a pretty good command of English and has learned some Mandarin Chinese. He does not speak all the languages he sings in, he learns the songs phonetically. Also, he was accepted into a PhD program, but there has been no conformation that he has even started his Doctoral program yet. Dimash is a highly intelligent young man so I have no reservation in saying that he will complete his Doctorate and any other program that interests him.
His transitions between ranges is so smooth that it makes his singing seductive. Love Dimash. I’ve heard what I believe is his lowest low. He goes as low as Avi Kaplan. Dimash is spectacular!

If you want to listen to a very recent song from 2021, where it goes from low to high and it got even better, I recommend "Stranger" from New Wave in Russia, and it's in English. You are young, you will love this song. Dimash has almost 8 octaves, which leaves him a huge margin in his vocal abilities. The SOS song you just heard, he was very well known, he came as a guest, not as a competitor. But he had won this competition 3 years before. Dimash speaks fully 2 languages: Kazakh and Russian, and tolerable English. In the other languages he only sings.

Yo tengo casi tres años de escucharlo diariamente y nunca es suficiente. I have listened to ALL of Dimash’s performances available over the space of 4+ years, and have yet to hear a bad performance! He will continue to surprise you, over and over! “Stranger” (New Wave version) shows even more of his vocal range, though not his highest (whistle) note.
I m French, I know very well this song , Daniel Balavoine( R I P. This French star in the 80’s died in an helicopter accident on the Paris/ Dakar race in all fame ) will be so proud and impress. The high notes are very incredible. I have goosebumps and I want to cry .

Oh, yes, you have indeed entered new territory! I know of no one else who has an arguably 7-octave range and can manipulate it so flawlessly and with seemingly little effort. He's been studying music and vocal since the age of five. Both his parents are accomplished musicians in Kazakhstan. He has a master's degree in music and is currently working on a Ph.D. More importantly, his kind, humble, generous, and humanitarian heart as a human being is as golden as his voice!

He is currently involved in his Doctoral studies having received his Master's in Music Composition.
He comes from a very religious Muslim family who are also very loving and always speaking blessings on all they come in contact with.
He is quite the athlete, always using sports to expand his lung capacity which is already stunning.
He has a 7 octave, 2 note range and is still working to expand it.
He is indeed a huge fan of Michael Jackson and Lara Fabian.

Yes, 'Stranger' is a great late 2021 experience of his range and ethnic influences. In-between, time-wise, the Olimpico performance of 'Ogni Pietra' in Italian showcases more of the lower register. Go for the version that opens with lightsticks in the audience vice Fancam or other versions - better focus on the singer.
He is perfection and we love him dearly.

Dimash and his family were well known in Kazakhstan before he went to China. His participation in the show Singer in China in 2017 is what skyrocketed him to being known worldwide.
Простите, но думаю Димаш не говорит на сербском и турецком. Я сам казах, и знаю что тюркские языки очень схожи, я практически не испытывал проблем когда был в турции, и понимал турецкий язык если не говорили очень быстро. А вот сербский язык довольно сильно отличается, и его очень сложно понять, и уверен Димаш не говорит на нем.

Glad to see you discovered Dimash. He's truly amazing. Check out "The Show Must Go On", "Stranger" (The Super Shine Brothers version is the best imho), "Daybreak" (Bastau concert version is the best) . Really any of his songs are great and they are all so different. I'm hoping you react to some others so you get an idea of his range because it's astounding. If you do watch SOS more times, check out other versions like from The Singer.

Wow, one of the best informed reactions I have ever seen, believe it or not he has gotten better since those early days. I'm hoping that you will view more as I don't think you can really get to know an artist with just one song even with Dimash who is in his own lane when it comes to music.
He goes from opera to rap and back again and sometimes all within the same song.
