Yes, 'Stranger' is a great late 2021 experience of his range and ethnic influences. In-between, time-wise, the Olimpico performance of 'Ogni Pietra' in Italian showcases more of the lower register. Go for the version that opens with lightsticks in the audience vice Fancam or other versions - better focus on the singer.

Yes, he is the best voice in the world. He has mastered his English pronunciation in the past two years. But opera is his strongest vocals. But he can do anything he wants. We just love him. Firstly you want more Dimash without cheating, you can watch the many different versions of SOS that he performed from the one that shot him to overnight fame on Singer 2017 to the one he did last year with his concert performances in between. He often does them different. Also watch some professional vocal coach reactions to SOS. (Not the fake ones just say wow all the time and show shocked faces ) That will keep you busy for a week
If you really want to do the Dimash journey (and many his fans who he calls hi Dears) will follow you. We love watching people become dimashified and blown away. Start with his performances in Singer 2017. It is awesome to watch his progression over the years. His performances were perfect back then and he has just continues to take perfection to greater heights What also sets him apart is his versatility, ever genre, pop,rock rap ballads vocalise, classic crossover opera, straight and “popera” opera like you have never heard it. He can even mix many genres together and sounds awesome not weird. He owns the stage, connects with the audience heart and soul, even throw a screen. He is involved with all the music arrangements with his best friend Erlan. He is a musical as well as vocal genius. I have no musical training but like you recognized perfection instantly, and knew he was different to any other singer. So I spent months watching every music professional’s reaction to Dimash to find out why. The more I learn the more am blow away. They all say his musical skills, techniques and performance abilities put him on a level totally his own. Many people can do some of the same things, some, but no one on this earth can do them all. Some things he does should not even be possible.
He has changed lives of so many people. He said in an interview that his vocal range is not the important thing it’s being able to take people to another world where they can forget their troubles for a while (not an exact quote but close). That’s what he does for me, when I am stressed or depressed and had enough I escape to Dimash, and nothing else exits for awhile. I just have to see his face, see him smile and he lifts my heart and lights up my world for a while. I am 67, avid music fan all my life but never experienced anything like what Dimash has done to me. What also makes him so special is the beautiful person he is. Watch some interviews and documentaries get to know him, he is special. The week will fly by

His genres include rap, pop, rock, classical crossover, ballad, Kazakh folk and Opera. He is proficient on seven instruments, speaks 4 languages and has sung songs in 13 languages
His 7.7 octave range (G0 growl-D8 whistle tone) and 2 semitones, meaning he has produced notes found in 7 different octaves, which is beyond comparison. Kudaibergen is well-recognized for his extremely wide and developed vocal range from C2 to C6 to F#6 and, finally, D8. OK... Came from the BTS video and subbed because... hello, BTS and Dimash? Dimash is AMAZING! I was so happy to see you look into him before your reaction. He was raised by his grandparents which is normal in his county we are told. He is such a humble and kind person. No diva here, (even though he can do Diva Dance, lol) but he is so genuine and and extreme talent. Between BTS and Dimash, you have a whole world of joy to come!!

His highest note hit is a D8. the world record is like a f#8 which is only 2 steps above. but he has like 6+ octaves of useable range which is one of the widest ever

While they both sing from the depths of their soul and then effortlessly reach for the stars, they take us along on the journey with them.
People have a habit of comparing artists and many seem to feel a need to decide who is best. In this case, I must add that, while they are alike in many ways; big hearted, generous, humble, to point out a few, they each have their own unique voices.
They were both blessed to have been born with such a gift and we are blessed that they share that gift openly.
One of my favorites is "Daybreak" at the Bastau Concert (he sings in Chinese) and it is beautiful!!! Also the cover od Freddy Mercury "Show must go On" at the Chinese Singer contest
i do like to start with the SOS version on he SHOW which catapulted him internationally..cuz he was the MOST sweet childlike and no mean face at that time SOS a French song in French and means HELP yes? :)

This beautiful song: "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" was written almost 20 years before Dimash was born, but definitely this Kazakh man made it his forever, when Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger composed it they had no idea who was going to be its final owner because no one can take it away from Dimash Qudaibergen any more.
I didn't like that song until Dimash.

@@chouanne67 I like this song, the first one Daniel Balavoine sang, written for him and his range, but it's more rocky, of course. But, after that, he wrote his own songs and they're amazing, his voice too... He composed, wrote and sang them. One of his most beautiful ones is "Tous les cris les SOS". He died in helicopter accident as he was invested in humanitarian help for Africa. French people still sing his songs, and we miss him very much. I thank Dimash to make this artist famous, lot of people around the world listen to Daniel after that. Dimash also collaborated with Lara Fabian, a Belgium /Canadian artist very famous in our country, she helped him a lot, they sang together and they have lot of respect for each other. French language is difficult, he made progress but maybe he tried to teach it after his first performances, because that was hard for him. Bravo!

Dimash only speaks 3 languages now. He has mentioned that Mandarin was too hard so he quit. He has performed in all of these languages but for German & Spanish, there are only partial songs. I know this because I keep a spreadsheet of all his available songs. He has only sung in 13 languages.
Also keep in mind, he does not showcase his whole range in all of his songs, so do not go into every song expecting everything.

As fabulous as Dimash is in this video, he was only about 22 at the time he performed SOS at this Slavic Bazaar. He has expanded his range and his voice is even better. His range and versatility are beautifully showcased in Stranger. He has incredible talent and presence.

I really like his sing-off with Li Yugang singing Drunken Concubine/Diva Dance. He plays a little with extreme vocals-whistle notes off the charts that actually work in the song. Plus that mashup of musical and cultural styles is really cool.
Vibrato, power, range, Mr. Kinetic voice already was popping off at 22 years old. Start of with some of the early performances from when he part took in "The singer 2017" China or his first big concert - "bastau 2017" in his homeland. He was 22 and already flying.

Yo tengo casi tres años de escucharlo diariamente y nunca es suficiente. This was 4 years ago when he was 23. You should hear him today! He is THE greatest singer of ALL time! Dimash won this competition in 2015, he’s a guest singer here in 2018. In 2021 he was a judge.
Besides speaking many languages, Dimash expertly plays 7 instruments, and recently got his PhD in music apart from his 2 Masters degrees. Whatever genre of music you like he has a song, original or cover of it, from pop, metal, rock, rap, opera, popra, ballads, you name it he can sing it. He has over a 6 octave range, and always gives 100% in every performance. Welcome to his world. I am addicted to him. He IS the best male vocalist on the planet, and I believe Angelina Jordan is the best female singer.

To clarify, one university degree in opera and one masters degree in musicology...currently working towards a phd but not there yet.
He has his university degree in music with emphasis on Jazz and Pop. He has a masters on composition and currently making his PHD on Musicology.

Small correction, Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He now has a pretty good command of English and has learned some Mandarin Chinese. He does not speak all the languages he sings in, he learns the songs phonetically. Also, he was accepted into a PhD program, but there has been no conformation that he has even started his Doctoral program yet. Dimash is a highly intelligent young man so I have no reservation in saying that he will complete his Doctorate and any other program that interests him.
You just witnessed the greatest vocalist of all time. He was 23 in this performance (27 now).He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend “Sinful Passion “ 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Believe it or not, he’s only gotten better. Each performance will leave you stunned.

I am a fan of Dimash, Angelina Jordan, Diana Ankudinova (wait till you hear her!), Lara Fabian (Dimash's idol growing up - he covered many of her songs and sang duets with her), and many others. Dimash by far has the best vocal ability and is therefore the best vocalist in the world. However, this doesn't mean everyone will say he is their FAVORITE singer as that's a matter of taste based on preferred genre of music, tone of voice, and a myriad of other factors. Regardless, you haven't seen anything yet. I am jealous of the journey that you're about to embark on. While many singers have 1 or a handful of masterpieces, most of Dimash's are masterpieces. To the extent he missed the mark sometimes, it was because he was still mastering the English language at the time. He's now much better at it than a few years ago. His life is a continuous journey of self-improvement, at least from the age of 5. So it's better to start with his old songs before getting to the new stuff. It will blow your mind how he was able to improve on perfection!
Glad to see you discovered Dimash. He's truly amazing. Check out "The Show Must Go On", "Stranger" (The Super Shine Brothers version is the best imho), "Daybreak" (Bastau concert version is the best) . Really any of his songs are great and they are all so different. I'm hoping you react to some others so you get an idea of his range because it's astounding. If you do watch SOS more times, check out other versions like from The Singer.
I have listened to ALL of Dimash’s performances available over the space of 4+ years, and have yet to hear a bad performance! He will continue to surprise you, over and over! “Stranger” (New Wave version) shows even more of his vocal range, though not his highest (whistle) note.

I really liked your introduction, knowing who Dimash is before listening to it. He sings in 15 languages but he only speaks 3, Kazakh, Russian and now English. If you want to listen to a very recent song from 2021, where it goes from low to high and it got even better, I recommend "Stranger" from New Wave in Russia, and it's in English. You are young, you will love this song. Dimash has almost 8 octaves, which leaves him a huge margin in his vocal abilities. The SOS song you just heard, he was very well known, he came as a guest, not as a competitor. But he had won this competition 3 years before. @@jacquesmorency2278 No, Dimash is really fluent in Kazakh, Russian and English. For other languages like Mandarin, he needs an interpreter. Me, I only speak French, so 3 languages is already very good. If not, for you, what are the 6 languages he speaks please?
Dimash speaks fully 2 languages: Kazakh and Russian, and tolerable English. In the other languages he only sings.

Wow, one of the best informed reactions I have ever seen, believe it or not he has gotten better since those early days. I'm hoping that you will view more as I don't think you can really get to know an artist with just one song even with Dimash who is in his own lane when it comes to music.
He goes from opera to rap and back again and sometimes all within the same song.

He is a big MJ fan and he has done some MJ tributes and some of his songs def have an MJ vibe. He sings classical, contemporary, opera, pop, rap and traditional songs. If you want some R&B/pop, try Fly Way or for some pop/rap with an MJ vibe try Be With Me.
He regularly speaks Kazakh, Russian and Cantonese. His English is very good now too!

The Weekend is a great artist. I love him. However...Dimash is in a category of his own. His mezmerizing performances are a full body experience really. He is captivating. Watch Dimiash's 2021 Official Music Video of "Be With Me" and "Fly Away". I love that you guys did a little research on him before watching. I wish everyone would research him. I enjoyed your first response to Dimash. Man have you guys got a ride ahead of you! :) People have said; not my genre, not what I usually listen to, I don't usually listen to 'foreign' songs, thats woman's range... all that goes out the window once people have heard Dimash. And you are right about the lyrics being subservient to the language of pure music itself which takes you DIRECTLY to the experience - no story needed. There is no one like Dimash. In the same way there is no one like Diana Ankudinova. When you get hear her you will see what I mean. Dimash and Diana pretty much share the same fan base not because they sound alike - they both have unmatched voices, but because when they perform they don't tell the story - they ARE the story and pull us into their world. They are world builders! Check out Sinful Passion next and then maybe Love is Like a Dream. Also you should check out the SOS from the Chinese Singer show. There are slight differences and I couldn't say which one I enjoy more. Your lives have been changed guys. Enjoy.
I don't think they share the same fan base. I adore Dimash's voice but find hers very disturbing and even slightly creepy. This aspect was raised in one of the larger fan groups and the general consensus was that there were only a few who enjoyed both.
