Dimash, 6 Octave Range, F2 to the infamous D8. He's been singing since he was 5, his mother is a soprano opera singer, and his father is a singer also. He was 22 when he sang this song, and he's now 28. He's trained extensively in pop and opera. His range is basically from low Baritone (a bit of bass, tenor, and through the soprano ranges). The scary thing is he's even gotten better (which is hard to believe). He plays 8 instruments and sings in 12 languages. Although confident in his music, he's also very humble.
I reacted in a similar way. I have a music degree with a major in voice. When I first heard Dimash I was stunned. Everything we know about the capabilities of the human voice has been changed forever! In a weird way I was elated and depressed at the same time. I have studied voice my whole life but it had never even occurred to me that a voice could do what Dimash does. He has changed music! Just think, in our current history of written music, hundreds of years, there has never been a song written for a voice like Dimash's. Songs have to be composed or changed just for him to be able to show his vocal abilities. He is, without a doubt, a musical genius. Each performance is like a piece of art being painted by a master right in front of your eyes. Remarkable!
Exactly! I’m not a musician, I only studied violin for few years as a kid, didn’t love it enough to keep going because my passion was visual arts - but when I first discovered Dimash in 2017 it was through this videoclip and I will always remember how I was sitting in front of my computer… the shock… how I’ve played it again and again and again… I felt dizzy!! I speak French and realised how bad his pronunciation was 😃 but I couldn’t care less…I googled him and found out few details (very few at that time) like his name, height, parents and country … I was home alone, none of my family members were home at the time so I’ve sent the video to some of my friends by Messenger and immediately shared it to a FB group I administer and as my family came home one after another I played the video to them on the TV screen… it was like an epiphany… a memorable day. It was like I never listened to music before… or like the music I was listening up to that point lacked something here or there… it lacked Dimash actually… What a gift! What a memorable day…
Dimash's French improved when he sang SOS at the Slavic Bazaar.He speaks fluently Russian and Kazakh languages.When he entered the singing contest in China in 2017,he hardly knew French and English.However his English is much better now.Il ne parle pas Francais.So please excuse him as his intimate but powerful voice is much more important than his language ability.

The Singer was a contest of Chinese professional singers (pretty much super stars in China). Dimash came in as the youngest (22 yr old) non-Chinese contestant who was relatively unknown. He was expected to last one or two weeks and be gone. The producers invited him as a publicity stunt as the first non-Chinese contestant. Dimash only brought a small bag of clothes with him since he thought he would go home soon. He was scheduled as the very first singer on the very first episode for 2017. Instead he won the first round (the first episode) with his incredible performance and went on to win the second round (second episode). He found he had to go shopping for clothes with bodyguards due to the mobs of fans that wanted to get close to him. He eventually went on to win second place but won millions of fans in China and around the world. Watching each episode and the audience reaction to Dimash each time he entered the stage and after he finished singing, one has to wonder how he did not win the contest. But then this is China which never had a non-native in the contest before and would look bad if such a young Kazakh won the show against all their big heavy hitters. In the end, Dimash had the last laugh (although he is too nice to actually laugh) as he became a mega-star in China and has a boatload of number one singles and a massively successful album. He performed at almost every high level state event and television program in China in 2017, 2018, 2019 and part of 2020 until the pandemic hit and closed the borders.

Having watched many of Dimash's live performances, I have noticed on several, his unlucky ability to fry microphones. I have seen this on about 3 live international performances.
Every time I see him, it cracks me open to the core. My brain goes on sizzle, my mouth opens and I can barely breathe. I mean what the heck is this? To see a trained professional like you struggle makes me understand and know, I am not the only one. How one person can be him? We are so fortunate, are we not, to be here to hear him?
Dimash is not from China but Kazakhstan. He was brought in as a wild card and he rocked the music world of China. This was his first performance there and they had to hire security guards for him the next morning because hundreds of thousands of people showed up to see him. The audience/judges are considered the finest musicians in China. He did not win because he is not Chinese. The Kazaks are a Eurasian people and Dimash loves his country. He continued to wow the world over the next few weeks and his videos are still high demand on youtube.
This was a great first-time reaction to Dimash singing SOS. A lot of us have been watching first-time reactions to this performance for 3 or 4 years, and the good, authentic ones will never get old. (Neither will Dimash, because he's not from around here.) Dimash's singing may be the only thing that keeps our creator from hurling a giant asteroid in our direction.
He's just 22 in this performance, but he had been training for 17 years - classical and pop. This was his breakthrough performance in 2017 on this all professional singing competition in China. First song of the first night. The only non-Chinese and non-professional on the show, coming from Kazakhstan. The audience was instructed to give him a warm welcome because everything else was stacked against him. He used up most of his Chinese vocabulary saying thank you (che-che) at the end. Cold, cold, cold open. He needed bodyguards to go shopping the next day. His digital album release a few months later went triple platinum, the first platinum in less than a minute. This 13 week show with a full orchestra, ethnic instrument musicians, a full light stage and a big 13 week schedule with one well prepared song per week was exactly what he needed to show what he could do. He still has many surprises for you. BTW, he sings in a lot of languages, so practice using captions, selecting subtitle languages and auto-translate and looking up translated lyrics on the better lyrics sites. He tends to pick good but arcane music, so it can be a challenge. This song was from a French-Canadian rock opera and there was someone who could actually sing it, at least the original version, but still amazing. Almost forgot. Great reaction! You understood what was amazing and how nearly impossible it was.

Dimash has a phenomenal talent and he has "worked his arsh off" training since he was 5. He has always known that he was born to sing and he not only sings beautifully, he delivers the emotion. He can sing the phone directory and make you cry..... The most beautiful thing about him becoming widely known is that he is so humble and grounded about his fame.
I was as stunned as you when I first heard this four years ago, so I know you won't believe this until you hear it for yourself. Dimash has gotten much better in the past four years. We couldn't see any need for improvement, but he did it anyway. Now he's working on his doctorate in composition, too. He's not only off the charts in talent, but in versatility. I believe he is known to have over 6 octave range with totally flawless Breath control, and probably the finest tone ever recorded in a human voice. This kid is either A) an Alien B ) one of the greatest voice anomalies in the history of music, a truly once in a 100 year voice.

He does not only have a gifted and excellently trained voice, he interprets in such a deep and sensitive way...he touches your soul...I've no words to describe how I feel when I listen to him. Congratulations! You've just reacted to the greatest vocalist of all time. That's not just my opinion either. Lots of vocal experts have the same opinion. Bocelli was so fascinated by his voice that he went backstage to get together with him and hear him while he played the piano for him. A2-D8 vocal range that we know of. The D8 was the highest note ever recorded in a live performance by a man or woman. It's on his Unforgettable Day Gakku performance. He held it for 5 seconds with vibrato so he can probably go higher. I've yet to hear him off key. He was born with perfect pitch.

You have now been Dimashed lol. This is my favorite performance of the song--at least on my setup, as it has more color then some of the later performances. I also think Dimash had a magical interaction with the audience. And this performance is elementary compared to Ave Maria and Stranger which were recently released. Btw, he was only 17 when he sang this song.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. I'm from Ireland 🇮🇪 and discovered this singer by accident during lockdown. He is truly an amazing singer but also sings the songs with passion and understanding of the words of the songs. He can sing anything. He is older now ....27yrs..28 end of may and getting better all the time also nearly 6ft 4inch and some think in time make a good James Bond etc...done a lot of great music videos...also the theme music to The creators the past (film) Across endless dimensions.

I feel you! My mind melted too and due to diving in to the world of Dimash's music I was an emotional wreck for at least two months after hearing this song. He breaks you, in a very good way and then he builds you up and you start to learn lots of new stuff like how to be a better human, languages, culture and history, family values, respect and of course appreciating music in a new way, not limited by genres or languages.

Dimash, 6 Octave Range, F2 to the infamous D8. He's been singing since he was 5, his mother is a soprano opera singer, and his father is a singer also. He was 22 when he sang this song, and he's now 28. He's trained extensively in pop and opera. His range is basically from low Baritone (a bit of bass, tenor, and through the soprano ranges). The scary thing is he's even gotten better (which is hard to believe). He plays 8 instruments and sings in 12 languages. Although confident in his music, he's also very humble.

I reacted in a similar way. I have a music degree with a major in voice. When I first heard Dimash I was stunned. Everything we know about the capabilities of the human voice has been changed forever! In a weird way I was elated and depressed at the same time. I have studied voice my whole life but it had never even occurred to me that a voice could do what Dimash does. He has changed music! Just think, in our current history of written music, hundreds of years, there has never been a song written for a voice like Dimash's. Songs have to be composed or changed just for him to be able to show his vocal abilities. He is, without a doubt, a musical genius. Each performance is like a piece of art being painted by a master right in front of your eyes. Remarkable!

I’m not a musician, I only studied violin for few years as a kid, didn’t love it enough to keep going because my passion was visual arts - but when I first discovered Dimash in 2017 it was through this videoclip and I will always remember how I was sitting in front of my computer… the shock… how I’ve played it again and again and again… I felt dizzy!! I speak French and realised how bad his pronunciation was 😃 but I couldn’t care less…I googled him and found out few details (very few at that time) like his name, height, parents and country … I was home alone, none of my family members were home at the time so I’ve sent the video to some of my friends by Messenger and immediately shared it to a FB group I administer and as my family came home one after another I played the video to them on the TV screen… it was like an epiphany… a memorable day.

The Singer was a contest of Chinese professional singers (pretty much super stars in China). Dimash came in as the youngest (22 yr old) non-Chinese contestant who was relatively unknown. He was expected to last one or two weeks and be gone. The producers invited him as a publicity stunt as the first non-Chinese contestant. Dimash only brought a small bag of clothes with him since he thought he would go home soon. He was scheduled as the very first singer on the very first episode for 2017. Instead he won the first round (the first episode) with his incredible performance and went on to win the second round (second episode). He found he had to go shopping for clothes with bodyguards due to the mobs of fans that wanted to get close to him. He eventually went on to win second place but won millions of fans in China and around the world. Watching each episode and the audience reaction to Dimash each time he entered the stage and after he finished singing, one has to wonder how he did not win the contest. But then this is China which never had a non-native in the contest before and would look bad if such a young Kazakh won the show against all their big heavy hitters. In the end, Dimash had the last laugh (although he is too nice to actually laugh) as he became a mega-star in China and has a boatload of number one singles and a massively successful album. He performed at almost every high level state event and television program in China in 2017, 2018, 2019 and part of 2020 until the pandemic hit and closed the borders.

Having watched many of Dimash's live performances, I have noticed on several, his unlucky ability to fry microphones. I have seen this on about 3 live international performances.
Every time I see him, it cracks me open to the core. My brain goes on sizzle, my mouth opens and I can barely breathe. I mean what the heck is this?
To see a trained professional like you struggle makes me understand and know, I am not the only one. How one person can be him?
We are so fortunate, are we not, to be here to hear him?
Dimash is not from China but Kazakhstan.
He was brought in as a wild card and he rocked the music world of China.
This was his first performance there and they had to hire security guards for him the next morning because hundreds of thousands of people showed up to see him. The audience/judges are considered the finest musicians in China.
He did not win because he is not Chinese.
The Kazaks are a Eurasian people and Dimash loves his country.
He continued to wow the world over the next few weeks and his videos are still high demand on youtube.
This was a great first-time reaction to Dimash singing SOS. A lot of us have been watching first-time reactions to this performance for 3 or 4 years, and the good, authentic ones will never get old. (Neither will Dimash, because he's not from around here.) Dimash's singing may be the only thing that keeps our creator from hurling a giant asteroid in our direction.

He's just 22 in this performance, but he had been training for 17 years - classical and pop. This was his breakthrough performance in 2017 on this all professional singing competition in China. First song of the first night. The only non-Chinese and non-professional on the show, coming from Kazakhstan. The audience was instructed to give him a warm welcome because everything else was stacked against him. He used up most of his Chinese vocabulary saying thank you (che-che) at the end. Cold, cold, cold open. He needed bodyguards to go shopping the next day.
His digital album release a few months later went triple platinum, the first platinum in less than a minute.
This 13 week show with a full orchestra, ethnic instrument musicians, a full light stage and a big 13 week schedule with one well prepared song per week was exactly what he needed to show what he could do.
He still has many surprises for you. BTW, he sings in a lot of languages, so practice using captions, selecting subtitle languages and auto-translate and looking up translated lyrics on the better lyrics sites. He tends to pick good but arcane music, so it can be a challenge. This song was from a French-Canadian rock opera and there was someone who could actually sing it, at least the original version, but still amazing.

Congratulations! You've just reacted to the greatest vocalist of all time. That's not just my opinion either. Lots of vocal experts have the same opinion. Bocelli was so fascinated by his voice that he went backstage to get together with him and hear him while he played the piano for him. A2-D8 vocal range that we know of. The D8 was the highest note ever recorded in a live performance by a man or woman. It's on his Unforgettable Day Gakku performance. He held it for 5 seconds with vibrato so he can probably go higher. I've yet to hear him off key. He was born with perfect pitch.

You have now been Dimashed lol. This is my favorite performance of the song--at least on my setup, as it has more color then some of the later performances. I also think Dimash had a magical interaction with the audience. And this performance is elementary compared to Ave Maria and Stranger which were recently released. Btw, he was only 17 when he sang this song.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. Every once in a while I'll pull up a favorite song or singer from years gone by, but Dimash is the ONLY singer I listen to every single day (for 3 years!) as much as possible each day. Ahhhhh!! welcome to the world of Dimash!! He’s from Kazakhstan which used to be a part of USSR so he’s fluent in Russian as well as his own language, Kazakh. He sings in a dozen different languages and has a 6 octave range. Wait til you hear his D8… anyway, we Dimash fans are called Dears because that’s what Dimash decided to call us - his Dears. Dimash has alien-like musical skills, but is one of the most humble and honorable people out there.

I'm from Ireland 🇮🇪 and discovered this singer by accident during lockdown. He is truly an amazing singer but also sings the songs with passion and understanding of the words of the songs. He can sing anything. He is older now ....27yrs..28 end of may and getting better all the time also nearly 6ft 4inch and some think in time make a good James Bond etc...done a lot of great music videos...also the theme music to The creators the past (film) Across endless dimensions.

This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight.
In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew or hear Dimash before and he also had to start first... and after this song Dimash captured the hearts of millions of viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood at his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds, over 4 months. The jury consists of 500 spectators. With up to 1 billion people see this tv-program, that's generated international interest. The performances were uploaded to RUclips... and so, we became Dimash’s Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned that Dimash would survive two episodes of the competition and go home again. They didn't really believe in him. I feel you! My mind melted too and due to diving in to the world of Dimash's music I was an emotional wreck for at least two months after hearing this song. He breaks you, in a very good way and then he builds you up and you start to learn lots of new stuff like how to be a better human, languages, culture and history, family values, respect and of course appreciating music in a new way, not limited by genres or languages.
