I’m an optimist when it comes to Clemson football. But if we expect to have a better year with a similar offense we should not expect to make a playoff even in a 12 team format. If Cade can throw the ball forward and if Riley is the manager of that playbook, I think we can be okay. We can’t settle on either side of the ball. The recent hires I think shows improvement. But may be a few years before we put it together

It’s going to be hard for Dabo to be successful in portal because he is not willing to cheat. Most of the good players are gone because of tapering before players actually hit the portal. Michigan is a prime example. Until there are severe consequences on the schools and the players who break the portal rules, its going to be hard for Clemson to compete in portal.

With the new outside hires of o-line coach Matt Luke and Riley before that they may now be able to finally accommodate one another which would be huge. This may be where Josh Pates optimism comes from and I think he is on to something. Their defense and its depth looked amazing in the spring game. Offense still has that big question mark above their heads that will remain til after the Georgia game. . If they lose to Georgia it wont be a slaughter. Clemson's defense should perform well regardless of the offense but if they accommodate one another Clemson wins. All i know is that its good to be underestimated and Clemson has the talent

Dabo has always maintained and conducted a sort of quarterback fixation in terms of his most highly recruited starter. Consequently; most of his backup QB’s find themselves spending most of their time warming the bench.
He has had a few backup QB’s who probably could have held down a starting job elsewhere however; they were well underutilized at Clemson. Hopefully Dabo will adjust this trend now that he has to live within the shadow cast by the transfer portal, and give Pearman a real chance to challenge Klubnick and Vezzina.

That means winning is not on equal footing with being the #1 priority. I love Dabo and y'all will probably be pissed at me for saying this, but the problem with the team is Dabo. I expect us to go 8-4 again this year at best. I would give Dabo this season and one more to prove he's right and if he's not, he should be fired at the end of the 2025 season. That would be 5 straight season of underachieving. That my friends is 100% a coaching and management issue.
