You can’t say not using the portal doesn’t have anything to do with why Clemson is struggling offensively and also lament us not going for this guy. I agree the portal isn’t the main issue but what is so maddening is that it’s such a simple and readily available resource and we aren’t even trying it. Yes we need to fix coaching but at the end of the day we are not doing everything we can to succeed.

At some point, you gotta either accept the fact Dabo WILL NEVER EVER SIT A QB or any other player for that matter. One thing he has said 1 million times.... if you recruit him you better be right because we're committed to him once he commits to Clemson. We could have Trevor 2.0 sitting in the portal and Dabo would suddenly become Ray Charles

Dabo is a fool. He reminds me of Jimbo. Being phased out of modern football. Both won titles with generational QBs. Dabo was lucky enough to get 2 of them. That's all passed now. Dabo refuses to adapt. How long with Clemson elites put up with it? Go Noles!!

No chance he would have come to Clemson to potentially and likely sit behind Cade. He was only going somewhere he knew he’d be the day 1 starter. State was a perfect fit for him

I think McCall had grade issues ik Auburn and Flordia tried to get him and classes didn't transfer so he was ineligible to be a grad transfer iirc but he woulda been fun to see in a Hugh freeze offense

Cade hasnt developed at all. He is the same old Cade,maybe worse

Frankly, my thought is that they knew McCall would likely turn them down, considering he would have to come in and, potentially, be behind cade. I’m sure he wanted a guaranteed starting position and knowing what we know about our coaches, that would not have been a thing. Either way, I agree it was a miss not to at least, give him a call. Players with his experience, read message boards and watch how coaches make decisions, sometimes don’t make decisions.

I don’t think it’s all cades fault it’s our horrible oline and cades inability to trust them to do their jobs and hold blocks long enough which cause him to go haywire McCall might deal with that a little better but I still think he would be running for his life also not sold on Riley without Sonny dykes. I’ve seen nothing creative in his play calling and the plays called look like the same base plays called in our spring game. The offensive philosophy seems to be the same as Denzel Washington’s in remember the titans we run the same six plays give it time and it works like novacaine except it doesn’t work.

What QB problem? We don't have a QB. What are you talking about? We don't need a QB. If we needed a QB, Grayson or the Duke Guy were both in the portal. Obviously, Dabo doesn't think we actually need a QB to run our offense.

I think cade has been developed perfectly fine I think it’s more to do with him being behind a bad o-line in his first season starting and we had injuries with our wr core all throughout the year it’s hard for a qb especially in their first starting season to go and look elite on the field I mean he got sacked 28 times and pressured almost every snap I don’t think Clemson has a qb problem I think it’s a offensive problem as a whole

McCall benefited from being in a creative offense. Chadwell knows how to create opportunities for success. I expect he'll be good but not great at State. You sound like you think Clemson has a quarterback problem. I think our coaching has been so bad that we've made our quarterbacks look bad. We could make McCall look bad too.

I feel like our O is too simple. Our D still has BV DNA. O will be better this year. Our receivers will get Separation this year

What about the O line play, if it's better does Cade play better? What are your thoughts on Cade's leash, how much does he have to struggle before we see someone else?

I am a Bama fan but i always listen in to teams that are good to see how the fans are seeing their teams chances this year. Plus i respect Clemson's program after the battles we've had. Roll tide & best of luck in y'all's season.

Georgia game can be a defining moment for the year. Time to get back on track to being an elite team.

It was kentucky but that game winning drive was something we haven't seen a lot of it lately. Anytime Clemson has gone to Overtime or needed a game winning drive we knew we were done. Growth has to start somewhere. Loaded with talent, the Georgia game is gonna be a big tell. Go Tigers!!

Your car analogy is flawed. *Part* of why DW4 and Trevor were so awesome is that they had monsters to throw to. I think Cade would look a lot better if he had a serious red zone threat. Who have we had that could make 50/50 balls into 80/20 balls since Tee Higgins? We could have been more aggressive bringing in offensive weapons and assets (linemen) which never would have stressed the tires out.

How can you guys say DJ hasn’t developed? Did you not watch him play at all at Oregon State? He was clearly a better and more consistent QB there. If you’re basing your evaluation on his spring game at FSU, that’s nuts. He just got there and has to learn a new system and get timing down with receivers, etc. Based on Norvell’s track record with player development, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have his best year statistically.

I don't know. Dabo went and got the best available quarterback coach as well as OC in Garrett Riley yet the offense still looks stale.
