We college football addicts love week 2 previews. 😊 I can foresee Clemson going independent for an interim year should 7 or 8 other ACC teams + also do and they all agree to put each other on their schedules as they get the GOR thing put to bed. I get the sense the B1G nor the SEC don’t want to get entangled in that mess and they have to get their TV brethren to agree to give them more $$ if they add certain ACC schools so they don’t dilute the current team’s payouts. All that could take a year or two to work itself out and likely needs to happen in stages, not all at once. Too many complicated, moving parts to do simultaneously. All that said, I can also imagine the SEC and B1G conferences swooping in and snagging schools as soon as the GOR challenge is made official too. Like a vulture. Which way it goes is anybody’s guess really, but what is not a guess is that one or the other is gonna happen. The ACC is now a zombie conference. I do find it interesting just how much the ACCN (owned by ESPN) is running shows back to back on the Clemson and FSU glory years. It is curious. Almost like ESPN is building up these two teams for some reason. Could there be a SEC announcement coming soon? 🤷♂️
