I just don't really care about the portal and who uses it. Would it be nice to pick up a player or two to help out in a position that needs depth?.. sure. However, in my opinion, the portal and nil are largely contributing to the degradation of college football. There is no allegiance to the university or fan base it's all about money, and where can I play now. So, what are we fans of the university, the logo, the coach, or just the 2024 Tigers who may be a shell of that team in 2025. I can only hope that one day players will once again play for and stay at a college for at least 3 years because they love the sport and have an allegiance to the university that gave them the opportunity and the fans that supported them. It probably won't happen the way I would like, but I can dream.
The coaches on the offensive side are "less than" the defensive coaches bc the offensive coaches Dabo recruited....Looking at you Cj Spiller, Tyler Grisham, Tajh Boyd and Austin who he finally fired. Offensive coaches get a pass and learning curve that the defensive coaches are not afforded.

NIL, The PORTAL, & Conference Realignments are causing the exponential ruination of Collegiate Athletics. It’s no longer “amateur” athletics. Colleges are just minor leagues of Professional Athletics.

I totally agree. Our QB room looks weak. Our QB room is the achilles heel of our team. The rest of the players on the team have to know this right? I don’t think the rest of the team would be so upset if Dabo brought in a Riley Leonard or Grayson McCall. I think they would appreciate it actually. I mean he still got to come in and compete and win the job.
I truly believe the players are ok with bringing in players from the portal. Also, I believe they care about winning more than “culture”.
Coach does NOT care what anybody else thinks. He's walking a path by himself. Whatever happens it's on Mr. Sweeney. Mr. Smarty-pants loses 4 games we all ought to call the show and let him know he's dumb and overpaid. Or he's the world's smartest guy but there's no in between.
We already know the transfer portal isn't keeping us from winning a National Championship. We have bigger issues than whether or not we pickup a portal player.
I still think Clemson can go 9-3, possibly 10-2. That's not coming from a Clemson fan. As for military service, David "The Admiral" Robinson gor out of his service time, but that's the only time I know of. Risky business to transfer there unless you plan to serve.
#1 it's Dabo"s program to do as he wishes #2 losing say , 10 players to the portal that has been in ur program and coached in ur system, and replacing those players with one's right out of high school can that be sustainable ? Notwithstanding the special ones that leave early for the nfl ,, #3 does taking transfers really affect the culture??? really??

@@xandercrews4729 a reason to use the portal is to make up where you may be lacking until next recruiting class, regardless of outgoing portal players. You’re GOING to lose players to the portal. To not make it back up, and you probably still needed depth before said guys left. Yeah, there’s multiple reasons. There’s more than one ways to skin a cat Kirby will show you ;) 😂

We see all the time coaches let the game pass them by and we’re watching it in real time with Dabo unfortunately. I talk shit but I like the guy at the end of the day. College football needs fixing but at the same time he has a job to do and he’s getting paid millions to do it. That’s all I’m saying.
Love Dabo and what he’s done at Clemson, but you have to adapt to keep up with the current football environment. It may be time we move on from him

Georgia lost 24 kids to the portal.
11 graduated, so that's 35 kids and a ton of experience gone.
Georgia replaced those 35 kids with 28 freshman and a few portal players.
I like the DABO way, much better.
Georgia also has 20 redshirt sophomores and juniors. From this past season. They were deemed not good enough to be scholarship players last year. So if you add the 20 redshirt to the 28 freshmen. That's basically 48 guys at the bottom of experience, game ready.
Good lord that's half a football team.
WHAT IF - at the end of this season another group of 20 walk out on Georgia in December, it's looking like the norm.
GEORGIA would become the laughing stock of the sec, within 2 years of back to back natty's.

There are about 10 Teams that can play Clemson head-to-head yearly with a reasonable chance of winning. There are about 100 teams that say "Oh Crap, we need to play Clemson". The reason the USuC Chickens have a great strength of schedule is that PLAY CLEMSON in the out-of-conference schedule. THE transfer portal media feeding frenzy is absurd.
Dabo is a clown. Something tells me he still hasn’t accepted that the Union beat the Confederacy. If he stays set in his ways, prepare for mediocrity and then just consistent garbage. He built a team to relevance, now he’s dragging it to irrelevance, once again.
Has anyone stopped to ask why Clemson not using the portal seems to bother the legacy media folks so much? This is starting to look like an absolute obsession for them.
