The release of this video just happens to coincide perfectly with the release date of Half-Life: Blueshift, 18 years pretty much to the date. So happy birthday blueshift. Also while I have your attention, just a couple of things that I'm sure will be mentioned in the comments: 1. I was playing on hard. That's why I was perpetually low on ammo. 2. I know Gordon wasn't running a "Resonance cascade" test the resonance cascade was a side effect of the test. I just wasn't sure what else to call it. 3. The donations from Cave were 2 or 3 donations I just cut them all together and put J.K Simmons Portal 2 lines over the top for the sake of brevity. Edit: since people keep asking no I did not somehow get J.K Simmons to do voice acting for me. The voice lines are all from portal 2 custom test chambers. There are about 60 unique lines of dialog that are never used in the main story line. 4. Yes I know I misspelt lighting and there's a second a at 20:05 and at 20:15 the text over the scientists head reverts to "scientist" because I forgot to change the text somehow. 5. Yes the photo of Picasso without his shirt on was the best photo of him I could find. No that will not get the video demonetized.

@Latvian Dragon It's easily the worst of the "official" Half-Life 1 expansions. The base game and Opposing Force are both great, Blue Shift is mediocre by comparison.
Matthew Gagnon Opposing Force: Play as a marine, with a bunch of new weapons, enemies, and gameplay mechanics. Decay: Two player co-op; play with a friend and solve puzzles and fight enemies together. Comes with the ps2 game, so it is essentially free. Blue Shift: Uh... High Definition models?
Blue Shift was more of just an addition to perspectives on the Resonance Cascade. The reason why Blue Shift is so small and doesn't have anything from Opposing Force or something new is that people thought Opposing Force made absolutely no sense since there were too many aliens and guns that Gordon never discovered, as well as a whole group of Black Operatives and so on. Gearbox felt the pressure and their next Half-Life expansion became what we see today. At least that's how I remember the story. (Basically Blue Shift is Blue Shift because Opposing Force broke a lot of what the canon Half-Life did.)
That is indeed an important point: Blue Shift fits perfectly into to canon while one must explain many OP stuff, especially Race X. In my opinion there is too much unfair BS bashing.

ahh, the copy of a copy. The original Barney was decently smart, but they were only allowed to take one set of samples and had to clone from clones from clones to keep the stock rolling. That explains why all the other guards die while Barney survives to see Half Life 2
@@amelveladzic But Womble's the master at subtitles, have you seen the art of his subtitles? It's brilliant, subtitles in reflections, shadows, water, etc...
@@VeloJG While I agree that Womble's use of subtitles is pretty amazing, I think that it requires some audacity to imply that the person who pretty much pioneered (so to speak) the use of subtitles has to "improve" at his own craft. I might be arguing a dead point here, I don't know, but it just doesn't feel right to me.
9:50 the fuck am i looking at. THE FUCK AM I LOOKING AT! alright, here's the sequence of events, as far as i can tell: Barney #1 walks to the train tracks and starts shooting a houndeye. Barney #1 then proceeds to stand there and wave his arms at the oncoming tram Barney #1 is then hit by the tram, which goes RIGHT THROUGH HIM Barney #1, completely unaffected by the tram, then proceeds to leap from the tracks and fall into a heap for no apparent reason Barney #2 is thrown from the tram as it hits the end and spirals into the air. 3 explosive barrels that were on it for some reason fly off barrel #3 is throw precisely into a window, somehow makes it through the window intact, and impacts some important pipes that were for some goddamn reason completely exposed. this causes random explosions to happen, causing the lift to plummet to its death. everyone in that elevator dies, except Barney, who is completely untouched. what the fuck just happened?
There were a lot of details that I preferred to the OG Half-Life. The alien weapons in particular were great - seeing a weird blue hand crawling towards you, then finding it's a "gun" was a brilliant set piece. It's a shame you never got the Barnacle Hookshot in HL2 though - with the physics engine you would have been able to actually swing around like a sci-fi Indy.
@ 08:37 I would just like to point out that as a security guard I can confirm that there are some sites we are posted at where the "residents" (employees of the client) who think that we are there to do any piddly shit task which is actually someone else's job, we're here to observe, report, and call Fire Department, Police, Ambulance. We are not your fucking elevator repair guy, inventory clerks, or receptionists. Carry On
Those subtitles are cool af. I agree with those who suggest playing Blue Shift at least once. I remember liking the stories of this one and Opposing Force too. Liked, subbed, and notifications on this one. (hint)
It’s actually head cannon for a lot of people that Black Mesa is staffed mainly by clones, with Gordon freeman being an exception due to G-man pulling some strings. They use clones so they don’t have to keep the workplace very safe and can do whatever tests they want and no one will come looking around for missing persons because they were made in black Mesa and as far as anyone is concerned they don’t exist. It’s why “personal safety” is a low priority for Calhoun.

@@garrettoliva5154 I did say Helmet too! The Adrian in the cover has a helmet and a single one in Opposing Force and well, in both games their face is covered so it makes more sense.
@@Lucios1995 they wear helmets in HL1. I guess you didn't realize that because their helmet is the same color as their uniform. There's also the fact that the model Adrian uses isn't very unique, as you find other marines that look like that.
@@peppermillers8361 I just mean there's a lot more variety in Oppossing Force NPC's than there is in Blue Shift
I don't know what to say except for this video and your editing is amazing. Keep up the great work.
I just imagine all the Barney clones aren't even clones of the real Barney but just clones of the first batch of clones
ahh, the copy of a copy. The original Barney was decently smart, but they were only allowed to take one set of samples and had to clone from clones from clones to keep the stock rolling.
That explains why all the other guards die while Barney survives to see Half Life 2
7:37 I always loved that line. All of the Portal 2 DLC dialogue is hilarious.
"i'm Inside Barney , that's all i ever wanted " , "i'm Inside myself "- Jolly 2k19
The subtitles is really improving, we may have an another Soviet Womble
Just what I wanted to say 😭
But he is still far from our dear Womble!
I'm pretty sure he was doing the subtitle thing before soviet womble.
Soviet and Jolly aren't the first ones to insert Subtitles in their videos tho.
Notice how at 23:04 his accent drastically changes while screaming
(Yup, it's just too much swearing and shouting. After a while, it gets old, blah. :))
The "We just cloned our first guard" idea sounds.... a lot like something Aperture would do
Nah. Aperture would make exclusively robot guards.
Jolly’s subtitle editing is pretty impressive.
To be fair, electricity relates to electromagnetic force, which _is_ a fundamental force. So gravity isn't alone.
The Tracking Text is alot like Soviet Womble's style, but *damn* do I love it.
After seeing that jolly didn’t say newton when he kept dying by gravity I knew I’m smarter
I don’t Know
Found the totally funny and original content

the fuck am i looking at. THE FUCK AM I LOOKING AT!
alright, here's the sequence of events, as far as i can tell:
Barney #1 walks to the train tracks and starts shooting a houndeye.
Barney #1 then proceeds to stand there and wave his arms at the oncoming tram
Barney #1 is then hit by the tram, which goes RIGHT THROUGH HIM
Barney #1, completely unaffected by the tram, then proceeds to leap from the tracks and fall into a heap for no apparent reason
Barney #2 is thrown from the tram as it hits the end and spirals into the air. 3 explosive barrels that were on it for some reason fly off
barrel #3 is throw precisely into a window, somehow makes it through the window intact, and impacts some important pipes that were for some goddamn reason completely exposed. this causes random explosions to happen, causing the lift to plummet to its death.
everyone in that elevator dies, except Barney, who is completely untouched.
what the fuck just happened?
Jolly: *exists*
Gravity: I'm about to end this man's career.
10:39 dude you have bulletprof helmet
A new video on Father’s Day?
Are you trying to say something Jolly?
Are you secretly my dad?
still an hour till fathers day my man
I’m in another timezone my dude.
and for me, father's day was last week
the fuck kind of country do I live in?
This was great. You should play Opposing Force too if you haven't. It's a super solid game.
9:27 "calm down it's not like things are exploding" *BOOM*
