    I'm blown away by the transistor efficiency in this generation of Canons--it's like a 2-generation improvement that definitely merits the refresh, even if it's not a flashy spec.

    Hey Josh, thanks again for the test
    It tells a lot about the camera overheating behaviors.
    One note though. I guess this test is done in optimal conditions.
    Like the autofocus is ON but it’s not doing any calculations or work ( which stresses out the processor )
    And the image stabilization is ON but again not doing any work.
    Other than that everything is excellent
    Thank you again we really appreciate what you do. 🙏

      Will be interesting to see it in a hybrid use setting outdoors. I tried the original R6 as a hybrid sports user and it was unbearable so I picked up the A7IV to replace. I still have time to return it, but wanted to see some R6II reviews first. The 4k60 overheat time is not impressive to me and actually a little worse than the A7IV testing done on this same channel albeit with the screen open. Granted I shoot football highlights completely in 4k60 and regularly switch between photo and video during games.

    • @Josh_Sattin
      @Josh_Sattin  Год назад +1

      I got 66-70 minutes in 4K60 on the A74 in my previous video. That is in crop mode. The R6 II got 62 minutes in 4K60 crop mode. Pretty similar.

    • @dusty_burkhalter
      @dusty_burkhalter Год назад

      @@Josh_Sattin agreed but similar is not enough to get me to return my A7IV and some of the initial videos and rumors that came out at the announcement of the Mark II claimed “no” overheating which is not the case. Nonetheless it is definitely a big improvement over the R6. My R6 overheated and shutdown shooting photos only early in the football season.

    My R6 mark ii never had the temp warning pop up while shooting video, until i got the ninja v and now it's always popping up after about 15-20 minutes. Doing the exactly opposite of what an external monitor is meant to solve and I can't work that out! It's only recording to the ninja v, and the LCD is off most of the time. Doesn't make any sense at all, I'm having to switch the camera off between recording when I never had to do that before using a monitor 🤔

    The real question is how long can you record in 4k60 after a long period of recording in 4k30.
    I suspect it's similar to the previous generation...i.e. not really suitable as your sole video camera.
    I've switched to 2x Canon c70's because ultimately the questions in your head around hybrid cameras stifle your creativity.
    I also don't like that in Canon's mirrorless cameras the assistance features can't be combined...i.e. no peaking And false colour, it's either or.

      @@Josh_Sattin that's good to know that it runs cool in 4k30.
      Ultimately for me it's better to have 2 cameras that perfectly match and that I know will keep going forever in any mode.
      But the R6 MK2 does sound like a nice upgrade ... Or rather what the MK1 should've been.
      Don't get me wrong, I still have my R6 MK1 and happily use it for casual stuff, but for professional work I don't want any questions in my head about whether or not the camera will wimp out on me at any point.
