Does anyone else miss Pre-MCU Marvel?
100% yes.
Yes
When Avengers Age of Ultron came out, something about the MCU changed in a bad way. Most of their movies are still good but they lost the feel of how marvel super hero movies are supposed to be. One thing I really miss is the fun, but not comedic feeling they had that films like fanstastic 4(2005), ghost rider, the x men movies, the spider man trilogy, the early mcu movies and some more had. Now don't get me wrong I still love most of the new MCU movies
There is pros and cons to pre mcu and post mcu
@@maksim_3350 only one I agree with is xmen, everybody is trying to forget about the others
"Who buys a fighting game for the story?"
*Mortal Kombat 9, 10, & 11 have entered the chat*
*Injustice: Gods Among Us has entered the chat*
I 100% agree with you brother/sister
[ThλtGenericPyro] A RUclips Channel injustice was so good it became its own universal canon .
"Tekken has entered the chat"
Mk 9,10, and 11 story is trash butttt injustice is good
To this day that effect from the first xmen of wolverines claw slowly coming out of his hand is so badass
Wolverines Revenge was an awesome game. I spent the entire time changing the costumes. The game was gritty and atmospheric, ahead of its time
I got a bit scared when playing the Weapon X level as a kid lol
It was hard as nails
Those messed up experiments 😭😭
It's legitimately one of the most atmospheric games I've played to this day. Like yeah it had issues, but people just REALLY pass over the good that was absolutely present in it.
Not as hard as the Magneto level, still can't figure that out.
Sabertooth was scary as hell. Might even be the best version of sabertooth in my opinion.
I need X-Men legends 3
MUA kinda was
@bryan diaz varela ?
Facts those games were 🔥
Dude omg yass!! I'm with you
only if it is made my the same developers. MUA3 was so bad, bare and basic compared to all the previous titles.
Wolwerine's revenge is a much better game than they say, and mark hamill was a badass wolwerine
...
And it had a badass fight against JUGGERNAUT! And you pull a fastball special against him!
I hated the ending cuz the cliffhanger made me think that it wasn't actually over.
Facts i loved playing that game it's one of my favorite gamecube games it took me forever to beat it when i was younger though because it was pretty difficult
The messed up the healing and combat in that game which was better in origins but his senses and choosing to retract or un-retract your claws was better in X2
@@jesmccoy26 I heard his death scream to the point it is ingraved in my brain
Wolverine's Revenge is underrated. Love that Weapon X and Wendigo stages.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - Agree.. This is easily the best Wolverine game :)
The best one without a doubt.
@Xbox_Gay🎮er83 what? Those games are great lol
I like how when a wolverine regenerates he doesn't regenerate his clothes
Sus
Gayyy
It's criminal how Storm was sidelined in the movies and games.
100%. Best member of the X-Men.
Raises hand in the air by himself when asked who plays fighting games for the story, haha.
Something I appreciate about X-Men: The Official Game is the Weapon X area in the Wolverine stages. If you look on the doors, there's names of other Weapon X candidates. I'm pretty sure Wilson is one of the walls, and maybe Will.I.Am's character from Origins? It's been a while.
I'm really hoping we get X-Men Man game in the future soon
Wolverine : Origins is the best Wolverine Game made so Far.
Wolverine's Revenge might not be the best but it's still a great game imo. Absolutely love the atmosphere, stealth, bosses, story, Mark Hamil as Wolverine and those epic takedown moves you can do on multiple enemies. Underrated gem.
In X2 Wolverines revenge I hardly hear anyone talk about the claw mechanics, they're great! You can manually retract and release his claws at will and do some cool things like use bare fists to fight non lethal, pick up a bad guy above your head and run around with them, watching them wriggle around as you do, but as soon as you release your class whilst holding them they immediately die. For a PS2 game that was incredible detail to include.
We need more X-Men games. While I've recently installed X-Men Legends 2 on my PC and am having a ton of fun with skins and mods added, we haven't had anything in a long time.
This has been beaten to death, but X-Men Legends should make a comeback. Ultimate Alliance did...but it didn't feel or look the same.
WE NEED SOMETHING!!
they made a mua3 but I think it stayed on the switch
It is a bit strange with how popular MCU is how few Marvel video games has been released lately. Namely Spider-Man (which was great), Guardians of the Galaxy(which is ok) and that terrible Marvel's Avengers. Oh and Marvdl Snap I guess if you are into selling your car to play a digital card game 😁 The less said about mobile games the better.
@@chancepaladin It was also not that good.
That "Wolverine's Revenge" game looks interesting. They should do a remake with improvements.
I liked it the gameplay was simple but it was just a fun game to play for me and also unlocking the bonus scenes was nice, some of the bloopers were pretty funny
I actually agree with this a lot. Some of the stealth mechanics could use some tweeking along with the combat, but I really like the set pieces and comic references. Also Sir Patrick Stewart voicing professor X in any video game.
It doesnt even need a remake. I finisjed it today and graphics still hold up.
Gameplay is way better than in nowdays boring action games.
It genuinely is underrated, it had so much going for it that people often overlook due to some janky mechanics and stuff. A modern remake would be dope
@@somefellow74 It definitely would be!
Remember the Wendigo level in X2 and now imagine playing that with mouse and keyboard
I have fond memories of X2 Wolverine's revenge. 😁
You've just earned yourself a new subscriber. 👌
Cheers! 🍻
Thanks so much, welcome aboard!
Absolutely loved that game as a kid!
I feel like this new Avengers game is about to be a modern X-Men The Official Game with a wider roster of characters, but basically the same thing
I've only had time to watch the first 10 seconds, but that's enough for an immediate thumbs-up. 😀
X2 Wolverine's revenge was a Friggin' enjoyably for the time and even relatively immersive. Clearly more of a comic book videogame than a movie videogame
Mutant academy had a great cyclops ability. Shoot beam, upper cut beam and launch ultimate beam as they fall onto it and get like 85 hit combo. Love that game
*"it's called a manicure honey, go and get one"*
the sass, i am _living_ for it
freaking love the move game for X-men 3. I had so much fun with that. And who can forget X-men Origins?
I have the ds version of xmen origins wolverine. Great hack n slash.
This is absolutely superb, Josh. That intro gave me chills. I’ve been a little harsh on X2 Wolverine’s Revenge. It’s such a fascinating game with its weird place in the movie universe but not in the movie universe situation. The way you managed to talk about all these games in detail and not make the video feel drawn out, is really impressive. Excellent work, old friend.
I actually really like Wolverine's Revenge... yeah the game is pretty clunky but I also found it to be really rewarding at times as well... also the story was really good and it definitely deserved a sequel which could of improved on the first game but alas it was not to be...
When I was a kid I had Wolverines Revenge on PS2 and X-Men Legends 2 on PSP. I played them both A LOT but I also probably only made my way through like 1/3 of either of them, they were hard!
Finally!! FINALLY!!! Someone doesn't hate Wolverines Revenge. That game underrated af. I know its not perfect but god damn I loved this game back in the day. Your review was fair and I agree with your points man. Never thought I'd see anyone else actually like after seeing all the hate.
X-Men Origins Wolverine was awesoe too but I missed the stealth aspect from Wolverines Revenge and wish they had this in Origins.
And the atmosphere too... Origins has some good atmosphere itself, don't get me wrong, but something about Revenge felt so... eerie? Off-putting? I don't know, but to this day that game's atmosphere is really potent imo
Those stealth missions in Wolverine's Revenge is probably why I have anxiety now lol
8:42 "Who actually buys a fighting game for the story?"
Final Fantasy/Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter/Tekken: Am I a joke to you?
Yeah but who buys street fighter for the story
@@bangeranginretroman3064 Fair point, I don't know many SF fans but the ones I see really enjoy the story as much as they like the game!
Not to mention, there was a storyline in this game.
You actually had to play as certain characters in different stages.
I used to loved the X-men movie game as a kid I used to play it on my 360
Yeah, "grossed out" isn't the word I'd use to describe what Lady Deathstroke makes me feel...
I played the crap out of X-Men: Mutant Academy as a kid. Getting it and Spider-Man on the same year was a comic book nerd's dream come true.
I don't enjoy Mutant Academy as much anymore after having experienced the Capcom games on Sega Saturn, but I still have a ton of great memories from playing it.
I've been looking for a video of the movie skins, thank you You finally shown me What I've been searching for for years 👍🏾
Your intro was so well written!
Zero thumbs down. Absolutely fantastic video. You've reset the bar with this one mate.
as a kid lady death strike from the 90s really creeped me out
The Sentinel mission in Origins is so damn fun
I really enjoyed wolverine’s revenge
That Iceman level...my childhood.
I loved the touch of Adamantium Rage music in the Wolverine Origins section.
Wolverine's Revenge was fucking Vicious son, still go back to it every now and again
Xmen origins the wolverine will forever go down as the only best stand alone wolverine game ever💯🤪😤🤛🏾
Zion yea that game was very insane
Waaaaaay better than the Wolverine movie, idk how it came out so good from such a shitty movie
@@forealz3255 it's crazy how the game is a lil more comic accurate than the movie Itself lmao
@@forealz3255 I think it maybe is because the game was in Development under a different titel even before the movie came out. They just renamed it and changed the bosses so it would fit the movie.
Terrific video, thanks for the work!
I had the first game! I’m just remembering this now lol! I loved playing as Logan and nightcrawler
Just found this channel and it was an easy subscribe for me.
Frasier Beast was best Beast.
Who buys a fighting game for the story?
*Injustice has entered the chat*
Just discovered your channel, already loving the content! Any way we can get a video about all the rest of the Marvel Movie Tie Ins?? Would love that!
i remember these games some of them were tons of fun
Mark Hamill as Wolverine?! Yes, Please😍😍😍😍
Great video. I had it on my "watch later" for awhile now.
This is my third time around lol
Haha, thanks! I'm glad it has stood the test of time.
X men Wolverine Uncaged is amazing. I love that game. It makes you feel like wolverine.
lol I love the wolvie nes music in the background, one of my alltime favorite games
I would be awesome if you do a video on the portable games.
This is probably the first semi-positive review I've seen of Wolverine's Revenge.
just bought the x2 wolverine revenge pc version. couldnt find it on torrents bought it really cheap heard great things bout it. excited to try it
i love x-men origins wolverine it was really awesome and badass
@Zee B actually gambit was in wolverine origins game
@Zee B not exactly he was technically a boss fight in that game
Cool video I didnt know half of these games!
Cool use of the SNES Wolverine game music 😁
Does anyone else want an HD remaster of XMen Origins Uncaged Edition? I remember playing both ps2 and ps3 versions and had fun with both, but the blood gore and violence made uncaged so much better! I really hope they remaster it at some point
I love the X-Men. I was crazy about the movies when they first came out.
Unfortunately, I don't have three of these games. I rented the X-2 Wolverine game from Blockbuster and never had a chance to play the other two. (Except for a demo I own of Mutant Academy)
I have X-Men Origins. Freaking love that game. That fight against the Sentinel. Good stuff.
...I need to buy the others...
Tht snes wolverine music in the background tho memories from a game too hard for me as a child ♥
When I was little I played the heck out of mutant academy 2
Will you make a video covering the handheld games ?
Always a fan of that Wolverine NES theme.
good times when all super-heroes movies get a game version.
15:55 So I guess you just forgot about the Splinter Cell series? It even lasted longer than the Metal Gear franchise with Sam Fisher showing up in Ghost Recon Wildlands.
7:52 I find it insulting how accurate this misconception is
See now I want to see a video about X-Men Destiny.
I'd love to see you rank and review all the Spider-Man movie tie in games.
awesome video bro. what’s the music you used at 0:56? it sounds soo awesome. again, loved the video!
Thanks! It's called Saving the World - Aaron Kenny from RUclips's audio library.
@@PanelstoPixels thank you!
I miss the early and mid-2000’s Marvel that produced the Ravensoft games (Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends). Such great memories.
The way you speak about the X-Men is commendable in a world that turned its back on them for not being as cookie-cutter as other franchises.
"Stealth games were yet to be perfected"
Ever heard of Splinter Cell?
Tenchu and Thief as well. I'm not sure but wasn't 1 Hitman game out in the market too by the time Wolvie's Revenge was released.
back in the day i bought the xmen origins wolverine for ps2 thinking it would be the same game with worse graphics man was i wrong years later when i got my x360 it was the first game i played.
and it also released on the pc mate
Mutant Academy and XMEN origin woverine are freakin awesome
I remember the wolverine gamecube game being incredibly fun.
My favourite thing to do in Xmen Origins Wolverine is to use the immortal cheat and see how damaged you can get. Like you can get down to almost full skeleton
X-men legends till the day I die! And next dimension! Still got and play em all! ❤
I remember a lot of these games omg
Any chance of you ranking the fantastic four movie tie in games
I'm waiting for X-Men Legends 3
Kind of wish they'd remake/remaster Wolverine's revenge. Want to play it again.
I want a Nightcrawler game, he's such a underrated character
Same he's my favorite along with quicksilver
Loves X-men mutant academy uses x-men mutant academy 2 intro
One day I hope to play the Wolverine game.
Wolverines revenge was 🔥🔥 back in the day
13:49 what is that music's name ? mysterious and epic
The entire OST for the game is on RUclips. Scattered between I think 2 uploaders. You can find them. Or alternatively, sample them through one video which has the entire thing in a single 1 hour+ video with timestamps.
I played X men 3 on ps2, I did play every single part of it mainly so I can know what happened between 2 and 3, but I never thought much of it. There only being 3 characters to choose from felt very limiting.
You should rank all the different versions of Batman Returns
I miss the x men craze
I played the first X-Men game on the original Xbox but only for a few minutes.
The reason why logan is breathing like is bc healing is very tiring and it makes him very hungry
Huh..... Y'know your voice and cadence in your speech is very familiar to me. I'm at least 98.69% certain I know you. Jimmy, Mark and Paul. Ring a bell? LOL! Yeah this is you.
Is it really true about that thing? "thing"? LOL! I can't believe you actually did... You know.
This is crazy. I can't believe you're doing YT vids man. Cool. That's cool
This video made me search for X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) for the PS3. 😀 I found someone selling it (the Uncaged Edition). Gonna buy it cuz I liked the game years ago.. and I will enjoy pIaying it with nostaIgia :D
I want a new X-Men game there hasn't been one in so long
I jus realized how many x men games I dne played I almost played all of dem except for x men legends
amen!! Grammer's Beast is fantastic!!
@3:37 I don’t know. That seems like his normal breathing to me.
wait but why did you say the x men origins wolverine for the wii is not worth mentioning I'm confused as the Iron Man 2 for the Wii (which I own and played) is also really different from it's xbox and ps versions. Why is that? The lack of memory space on it??
Will you do a video for all Spider-Man Movie games ranked and reviewed??
Maybe one day but I don't have much video game stuff planned for this year. Also, my buddy GodzillaMendoza did a great series of videos on all the Spider-Man games.
