Dreamcast's Spawn in the Demon's Hands was pretty fun
Absolute blast on the original arcade cabinet.
It's one of my favorite Dreamcast games ever.
I purchased it randomly and I'm super glad I did.
Yeah, this dude is tripping! The one on the dreamcast is an awesome game. Was one of my favs growing up.
Don’t forget Spawn Armageddon for the PlayStation 2!
@@YaowBucketHEAD I did that with PS1 Spider-Man. Classic.
We both know that if any of those Spawn games were remastered we would be refreshing our browsers during the Limited Run Games campaign.
Spawn: In the Demon Hand was awesome
8:02 "Infinitely more successful in it's *X-ecution* ."
I see what you did there...
Spawn: Armageddon was pretty decent and enjoyable
Todd's GOT to let someone ELSE direct Spawn!
Cough cough spawn movie 1997 cough cough
He's never gonna get it done. He's been saying that shit for years now
Unfortunately, that's never going to happen because Todd McFarlane is a huge control freak.
'threaten us with a remaster'
I loved that line.
Fantastic video Sir, really enjoyed it! Great topic to cover too!
The Spawn arcade game was pretty good I will say, Capcom even rehashed it into a Heavy Metal arcade game.
Ugh. This guy again...
Thanks, Larry! Glad you liked it.
@@PanelstoPixels No worries, I've subbed to you, so lookign forward to seeing what you've got planned next! :)
@@PanelstoPixels Please make Russian subtitles! and check the original subtitles of youtube did not write them correctly, I really want to watch your video!🙌🙌🙌
@@alecaquino4306 my sentiments exactly
I love Mutant Apocalypse. All the Capcom licensed titles on SNES were pretty great.
Yes!! Mutant Apocalypse and War of the Gems are two of my all-time faves.
Where is Spawn: In the Demon's Hand or Spawn: Armageddon?
I was wondering the same thing. Armageddon was fun in my memory
I was thinking the same thing considering that Armageddon came out after Soulcalibur 2...
Because they're not terrible
Man I am absolutely loving this channel. Really takes these deep dives into places other channels just can't seem to reach.
Thanks, glad you like it!
Yes! So much research and effort. It is criminal he has so little subscribers.
@@tf5463 I agree.
That's not even true. Other channels do this exact same thing, you just haven't found them yet.
@@tf5463 No, no it isn't.
"Wildcats are a bit shit"
And you lost me.
Joe Casey's run in the early 2000s rules.
There was a cancelled Atari Jaguar game for the Image Comic title, "Maxx", and it seemed to play like a pretty cool isometric sidescroller with plenty of animations for when the player would get trapped and such.
How much better could this video be? And the answer is, none. None more better.
It could be better, any video on RUclips could be done better. Stop with this false support.
the old spawn game was fire and so was the dreamcast one
Thank you so much for making these videos. They always brighten my day-even talking about lousy games, you have a loving tone. The channel is just always so pleasant to visit.
Wow, thanks! This comment has made my day. Glad I can help!
The fuck?
It is a shame that only The Darkness games (both on Xbox 360 and PS3) and Spawn (PSOne and the original Xbox console) no other Image property were made into a video game. I would love to play a WILDCATS, Youngblood or perhaps even a Witchblade video game on previous, current or perhaps even the next gen consoles...Kinda wish they had more love than just Spawn and The Darkness.
The best Spawn game was "Spawn: in the demons hand" for the Sega dreamcast.
Dude @17:03 you literally unlocked a memory from my childhood that I didn't even know existed. That arm advertisment haunted me as a kid when I saw it in a video game magazine but I had a morbid obsession with it as well lowkey. Didn't even know what game it was for.
We're just gonna forget Spawn in Demon's Hand? In my opinion it's the best Spawn game from the 90's.
11:07
I've never heard of Shadow Hawk so as a novice he looks kinda like a more metal Wolverine. I've got to look into him.
It's cheap, trashy fun but I love it.
almost every cartoon and game was a glorified toy commercial in the late 80s and 90s
Knowing what we know about Tommy Tellarico, he probably had nothing to do with the music.
There was one Good Spawn game back on SNES but the fatal flaw was if you ran out of energy you couldn't finish the game. Health bar be damned.
I loved Marvel, Image & DC (in that order) in the 90s, so w/ a few tweaks & some remastering, I wouldn't mind playing any of these games on modern consoles. That WildCATs game looks to be the most promising, they just need to: make it co-op, have additional playable characters (i.e. Grifter, Voodoo, Zealot & even Void), & give them more powers/moves.
That run cycle in The Eternal...XD
Great stuff as always! Fun Spawn SNES fact: It was copublished by Sony Imagesoft (with Acclaim). Probably the last Sony game published for a non-PlayStation console. Also, I think it deserves a lot of credit for feeling like a new Spawn story that I think could have been an actual issue (minus Billy Kincaid, who should have been dead). You didn’t get that very much at that time in comic games, so much as you got levels taped together by strings of rogues gallery characters without much thought as to why.
Oh, and you forgot to mention Not Jean Grey chiming in all the time. 😀
Damn, how did I miss that?!
I really love the concept of youtr channel, I hope some day you can also do videos about games based on manga and european comics.
Good stuff man....enjoyed it all the way throughout....
Excellent video, wish this channel had thousands of views. Also wish you’d covered another PS1 game based on Image Comics - Danger Girl! At least it got released, if nothing else. (And indeed, it lacks much else going for it.)
Shadow hawk were some of my fave childhood comics, so rad : D
I was just thinking of Spawn the Eternal yesterday. Game wasn't great... but i loved Spawn so much i played the ever living hell out of it. Though i couldn't get past Medieval Spawns area.
I always thought the guys at Santa Monica Studio should take a crack at Spawn, with what they've done with God of War in the past, i feel like they'd do him some justice.
Honestly, seeing how badass the Spawn model in Mortal Kombat 11 is, I'd take ANY modern Spawn game. A God of War style romp through Hell would be awesome.
I remember loving Spawn: Armageddon for the PS2
My little brother doesn't know the pre arkham world, where almost every licensed game ranged from unplayable, to at the best mediocre. Most often just terrible.
I have an absolute love for all the spawn games just from my obsession. I spent ages playing the gameboy color and SNES spawn game
I really enjoy the content of this channel! I'd really like to see you do a video about the original GameBoy Spider-Man trilogy. Keep up the great work
Good suggestion. I'm not too clued up on handheld stuff but I still have my old Game Boy.
This video should be called “Image comics videogames that were never published”
I really hope the algoritm promotes this channel more, what an absolute gem!
its interesting while wildcats are the worst characters, they have definitely had the best comic runs, with writers such as alan moore, joe casey, warren ellis and artists like travis charest and sean phillips coming though the reins, definetly the best stuff to come out of the classic image years.
Oh man, I may have to hunt down that Shadowhawk rom. He was always my favorite of the Image characters. I also get distracted by shiny covers.
The guy wearing the Malcolm X hat is so nineties! Bootleg caps and bootleg clothing!
I can't believe you missed the best one of all, Dangergirl on the PS1. At the time DG was from Cliffhanger Comics which was a part of WildStorm which of course is under the Image umbrella.
No Spawn Armageddon on the PS2?
Not a 90s game. Maybe a part 2 one day...
Hey, who you calling a fragile player?!
I would like to do a part 2 that covers the 00s games at some point. I also missed off Spawn for the GBC because I don't really do much handheld stuff. We'll see if I get round to it.
Isn't "The Darkness" a Top Cow property?
Kaan Ünal yes
Yes but initially published under Image. I guess it's only tangentially an Image game because of the Silvestri connection.
@@PanelstoPixels Thanks! I just checked it and you're right. My bad.
I think Spawn deserves to get a good modern game like Spider-Man and the Arkham series
Just discovered your channel. I’m a professional game designer going on 30 years industry experience. I’ve worked on two, surprisingly, Panels to Pixels themed games. Excited to see if either pop up on your channel and how they fair.
I remember the day I read my first image comic. It was wildcats issue 2. I loved it, couldn't get enough. Then, image was everywhere. It got super over saturated. So many 'x teams' comics started puking out all over the place. After that, I just walked away from comics all together.
Hey. Panels to Pixels! Have you played any of the Christopher Nolan tie in games? I believe the only two I played was Batman Begins for PS2, and the mobile game for The Dark Night Returns.
I played Spawn the Eternal so much as a kid.
Wasn’t there a The Maxx game that never got past the prototype stage?
Awesome video dude.
I enjoy channels that are comic specific & this is my favorite by far.
I know exactly how you feel about shiny covers bro..I am guilty of buying the cyber force 90s shiny cover.
How do you feel about cyber force?
Thanks so much! Oh yeah, I LOVE Cyber Force. Silvestri is def the most underrated of the Image dudes.
Oh I agree.
I just recently scored a soft cover graphic novel of the 90s cyber force run.
What are your thoughts on the remake?
I never really owned any image comics other than the walking dead, spawn had that killer HBO show tho ran 3 seasons, cool that they give the creators full rights to their creations but I always preferred dark horse to image. Great vid guy, I see the effort u put into your videos😁
Dude i love Rob Liefeild comics and characters man, I really do.
Here I was thinking I'd be all snooty and tell you that there was a cancelled ShadowHawk game. As if!
Great vid!
Thanks!
Me Too! Give me a hologram or foil embossed cover, and if the character is disrupting the comic's Title then EVEN BETTER!
Once I started playing WildC.A.T.S. and 'got it' I couldn't stop playing through tilt he end. holy crap what a game! if you've already played through the xmens and spidermans, try it!
Spawn was pretty rough. :(
I have that Shadowhawk comic it's beautiful. I can't wait to check that game out!
We need a image comics PITT game or invincible game
Thank you guys for giving a shit about your audience. Hard to find so much detail in a channel.
Keep it the FFFFFFFFFFFF up!
This is such a great video, loved it!
Thanks, Owen! Means a lot.
Got to say: Jim Lee's Cyclops at 5:54 looks a lot like Rob Liefeld's Captain America at 8:19
17:27 Wait a minute. How did you find out my oddly specific way of playing Doom on the SNES?
I would like to see a remastered spawn on the snes, armageddon and eternal released in as a collection like devil may cry
I'm pretty sure early ps1 titles are why we have more pushed release titles today.
aww I was hoping to see Spawn for the Game Boy color as well
Fantastic video
Well done
Didn't know there were attempts to get a Gen 13 game off the ground
Dude ! What about Spawn on Dreamcast and I believe XboX?
I'd love an Invincible game. Like PS4 Spiderman meets the dynamics of RPGs like the Witcher. Plays through the story of the comic and beyond
I'd love to see a superhero game as fluid as Spider-Man but with deeper RPG systems. That's what I was hoping Avengers would be but I won't hold my breath.
Your animated profile photo is rad, by the way.
Panels to Pixels Cheers dude! Keep up the amazing channel. Genuinely always love the vids
It only took 3 more years for you to get a cellphone game lol
I had that spawn game for snes as a kid, I could never get much past the first boss, “the redeemer”.😁
What if Arc System Works collaborated with Image Comics?
That would be an insane crossover fighting game.
Many mediocre Spawn games? He's only had 5 games in general lol.
And all of them were mediocre.
@@PanelstoPixels I definitely wouldn't say that. The Super NES version was OK, it was the controls that were terrible to pull off moves and they could have eased up on the difficulty at times as it felt cheap. Spawn In The Demons Hand on Dreamcast as fun as hell.
Last time I checked that James Rolfe would disagree about Spawn Armageddon and the Dreamcast game being mediocre 😉
OMG Night Hawk silhouette is DEADASS Wolverine. Lol
The first Spawn game on this looks pretty fun. I’d love to play it someday.
No mention of Spawn: In The Demon's Hand? That would have been a good redemption for the crappy Image games featured.
17:57 that could actually work. Get netherrealm to do it, make it the exploration like the krypt and the fight lie normal mk.
That side of humility by diving into the shitpost.. i like it, but dont do it too often lol.
Watching this video makes me in the mood to be ready for an invincible game, I want it to be real
You didn't do a great job explaining why that last Spawn game was bad... I kinda wanna play it now...
spawns been done dirty in other media other than comic books
The darkness was awesome and i want a movie of jamie eating hearts!
"Spawn in the demon's hand" was underrated. It WAS the BEST Spawn game. (Still got it 4 my DC)
maximum carnage is in my heart and soul for ever, from everlasting to everlasting.
Capcom made a pretty cool Spawn game for the Dreamcast. But if I recall it didn’t have much to do with anything and was just a third person competitive shooter with spawn character skins. Beats the hell outta that PS1 game you showed though.
I think my favorite of the Image Comics games must be that Spawn game for the Dreamcast, it's just very fun to play with friends but there are a lot of better options for that kind of game in the console.
Probably the only time Wild C.A.Ts were genuinely good was in the Wildcats 3.0 comic, I highly recommend checking it out, it's just fantastic and probably one of my favorite comic books of all time.
I definitely enjoyed the SNES Spawn game, as well. It also features some of the best music in a video game, for me.
Didn’t PS2 have a Spawn game? I’d be cool to have a video from Panels that covers all spawn games
anyone know the song at 8:25?
Jesus Christ those snes games, if I was lucky I might get to the second level before I game overed and had to start over in all my favorite properties, took me 15 years to beat the death and return of superman and I only did it once!
All those beat em ups should have been two players and had just a tad more variety. They were never meant for kids to beat.
Shadow Hawk aka Not Wolverine
I always thought Jim Lee was Stan Lees son. So weird they both happened to have the same last night
todd please release these spawn games i need them
Dude, do NOT compare Grumge and Burnout to Safe Space and Snow Flake. The level of care put into the characters is nowhere near equal.
And what would comic covers be without Gen 13 launching the career of J. Scott?
He had reprint for new mutants 98😂
Spawn Armageddon was pretty badass for PS2
Dammit Maximum Carnage!!!
Can you imagine a Spawn game for the ps1 which were closer to Soul Reaver?
Or even a Castlevaniesque
Man I’m glad you didn’t lump danger girl into this list :) cuz I fucking loved it!
Ok, you cannot look at Violator and say "without tryhard edginess".
I'm surprised Rob Liefeld is still considered an artist.
Rob Liefield's official title is pouch illustrater
