When did you trim the zipper on the pull end?
Well the zipper question was for Mister Domestic

Gotta love a man who can sew and knows what he is doing....
You are hilarious. No muss, no fuss. Sing all you like as long as it makes you happy. Subscribed.
I learned something about corners. If you sew to one stitch before turning, put your needle down, and take one stitch at a 45 degree angle, and then finish turning the corner, you don't have to fuss with all that zigzag. Just be sure to clip off the extra bulk. Is a bit more fussy, but actually takes less time because you don't have to go back and zigzag. However, it's certainly not as strong a corner, so I love the zigzag tip for something that's going to take a lot of wear and tear.
This might sound dramatic, but your WonderTape trick changed my life! Seriously! Fear of zippers - no more! Thank you! ☺️
seriously!!!
I have seen other videos yours by far is the best and the easiest, every time I make a pouch I go to your video. Others show complicated steps. Thank you so much. God bless
in this world of craziness, you are a breath of fresh air!! Keep doing what you're doing~
I have watched many RUclips videos, downloaded pattern and gave up at some point. I found your video today, I would like to thank you from my bottom of my heart for making it so simple and understanable.
Your daughter is a blessed little girl to have you in her life!!!!
I bet she loved that pouch!☺️
I am just smitten with your infectious enthusiasm- makes me want to make everything you make!
You give great instruction- so glad I found your channel!
😉👍🏼
Wow!! I've watched more than a dozen videos for making zippered pouches, and this, by far, was the easiest! You are so much fun to watch! Thank you!
Your video was awesome and your applique and fabric were so colorful. When I was 18 I made my own white linen suit with zippered skirt with pleats to graduate high school in. I made denim jean skirts with zippers and now in my 50s, zippers scare me. I haven't been able to understand any of the reading directions without seeing hands on installation. I picked your video due to the size of your bag and the seafoam green is my favorite color. I am sure your little girl loved it. This weekend I want to try and make one of your pouches. My grandmother owned a fabric store for years and when she passed away my mom and I inherited TONS of fabric with all the sewing notions to go with it. I am getting ready to participate in a craft sale at the end of April and I usually sell my jewelry that I make and have been beading since I was 10 but, I am all beaded out from winter sales. I am itching to get back to sewing. I use to make my own curtains, pillow cases, pillow shams to match my curtains. I even made my own silky slips to wear under my skirts. Thank you for an awesome video. My dad told me once the best tailors in the world are men and that's why he bought all his suits in Korea that were made by men. My dad is very tall and is a retired minister. I am a happy PK. I am very blessed both parents are still alive and well at almost 81 years of age and I am 55. Presently my dad is away in Europe sailing the high seas. He is from England and he and his family came to the USA in 1948 after his home town was bombed by Hitler. My grandmother was a beautiful seamstress and sewed all my dad's clothes as a little boy and even his shirts in high school with chickens on it - apparently that was a cool fad in 1958.
I love your character also Mister Domestic - I bet your the life of the party. Wish you lived near me to help teach me how to sew. Have a great spring and summer. Sincerely, Rebekah in Alexandria, VA
"Stand out In the sea of zipper pouches" you got me, I almost choked on my coffee 😅 Subscribed after I stopped choking. TYFS Kate
I've watched a number of videos on this subject and yours is the best! Very clear instructions. This is the one I will use. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a complete beginner and you made this so easy to do. Thank you.
Love how you named your sewing machine. "Take this back over to Felicia..." LOL
I so didn't catch that. That's so great. I call my machine "my little brother".
I'd have to call mine Karen, she never stops complaining lol.
@@apriladelewhyte I should call mine that. She constantly gets stuck around the bobbin and all kinds of other trouble. Don't worry I adjusted her and change out more needles but wow.
Love love love your energy! Im brand spanking new to sewing and your tutorial was clear and super easy to follow. Gonna try my hand at this project tomorrow! I'm SEW excited! 😂😍
I love your positive happiness! ❤️❤️ You got it going on!
I love when you bust out laughing in the middle of your videos then you get all excited when your finished with your projects. It just makes you want to make one. Your great!
I've been learning how to sew just by watching your videos! Love the way you detail the instructions. You make me feel like a professional sewist when I complete your projects. I can watch you all day!
This is my first time watching one of your videos. You're so upbeat and happy. I just love it. I smiled through this entire video. Your clear directions make this so easy to follow. I'm a beginner and I know I can do this. Very cute pouch. Your daughter is so blessed to have you. This is so perfect for my 2 kiddos starting their first years of school this year. Thanks to you they will both be able to take a piece of mama to school them.
Thank you for the tutorial. Wonder tape is so nice for zippers. Cute, easy, quick, perfect for kids for school. Something no other kid will have. 😄😄😄
Your smile, laugh, and charisma are enjoyable, as is the cute project. I was having an extremely trying day, and you certainly cheered me up and moved my focus to something positive. TY! :)
Another fan gained....everyone mentions your enthusiasm, joy, infectious laugh, funny comments, clear instructions-so true. I will just add that you are a really natural teacher. You make it seem like you’re just having a friendly conversation with is, your audience, but nearly everything you say is instructional, including WHY you make decisions. I’m amazed you have a full-time job, a family and you still manage to to turn out these new amazing videos all the time! Thank you for what you do!
OMG! thank you so much! I love the corner reinforcing zigzag stitches trick!!!! salute!
I successfully made zippered pouches thanks to this wonderful video! I love your laughter and all of your tips. I watched other videos, but they dragged on too much! I love your speed sewing intervals!
Really great tips from start to finish. I love the professional touch of adding your label
Love your enthusiasm and your choice of projects. Thanks for this easy way to put in a zipper. I’ve avoided zippers as I learned how to put them in over 50 years ago, and the procedure was definitely not this easy. The Wonder tape really helps to make the installation much easier. I will try this pouch soon!
I been making pouches for about 2 years now, I must admit the trick you did on the opening in the lining is very clever. I learn something new again. Also on the zipper, I did not know that you can iron the zipper or maybe different kind of zipper. Thanks for the tutorial. It's fun to watch your tutorial.
Im so glad I decided to watch more than just my first video for zippers! I thought I had a good enough understanding, and while I could have gotten the result I wanted, I think this video cut down about 3 extra steps and made it seem so much more simple!! So excited! Thank you thank you!
I can watch this video over & over again!!💯❤
I flipping hated zips... and making bags with zips... THIS IS SO MUCH EASIER THAN ANY OTHER WAY IVE BEEN SHOWN! where have you been all my life! thank you for being awesome!
Love your energy and positivity. Thanks Mr D
I love your designs and tutorials. The projects are classy and unique. Thanks!
4:54 LOVE your laugh and your spirit. This was so helpful and entertaining. Thank you for sharing your time and wisdom.
I have 7 granddaughters from 8 years to 5 years they are gonna love these. Thank you for sharing Matthew. Your the best Mister Domestic.
What a fun project made easier by your tutorial! Thanks so much. I learned to sew 34 years ago in my high school Home Ec class and have never seen a bag made like this!! Just goes to show, you can learn something new every day!
I think you are an exceptional father!
nice job! I love the liner and how it matches the flower. Nice size and perfect for pencil crayons and large sharpeners. very sweet
I couldn't understand zips plus lining until I watched your video - thank you so much. axx
I love this video!! I love the reinforcement you do at the corners. I too love the wonder tape.
Omg, I could watch you all day long! What fun! ❤️ I will be making lots of these.
Oh. My. God. I was today years old when I discovered your videos and doing zippers with wonder tape and out of the way. And the joyful commentary is sooo good. Stay gold!
Awesome video! I NEVER ever thought to sew a zipper this way! Thank you so much for demonstrating this awesome technique!
I love your humor and I love the way you sew. You know how to make sewing fun and easy. Thanks a million.
You’re a riot!! Wow, I learned so many helpful tips in your video!! I’m so glad you love to sew!! A passion of mine since I was 12! Thanks for sharing!!
I once saw a video and the woman who did it suggested using a chop stick that you get from a Chinese restaurant.
But I love your energy and the adorable bag. Thanks!!!
Mr Domestic you always make me smile with your wonderful positivity and energy. I have learned so much from you. Thank you. Big hugs and loves from the U.K. xxxxxxxx😘🙋🏻❤️
So fun, informative and rather handsome. Love this channel.
I am an old soul at sewing, but I have been away for several years. Thanks, love, for showing me how to use zipper tape! I did not know it should be heat set. I also like the trick at corners with a slight zig-zag and a short stitch length. I do love cloth pouches. Yours is the way I [refer piecing them, too. So glad to meet you, Mr. Domestic!
Watches a few versions on how to make a pouch, but this one I like best. Thank you
I cannot express how much I enjoyed this video a lot! Thanks for doing this tutorial, I'm onto my first pouch! Yay!
I LOVE THIS! I am going to make a bunch of these out of Hawaiian Fabric as gifts for family and friends on the Mainland. Mahalo Nui for the share, You Rock!
I have watched 5 of these zipper pouchie tutorials and this was the easiest to follow! I inherited a bunch of crafting stuff including 15 lbs of scrap fabric from a neighbor who passed away (she made dance costumes for a living), so I have at least 100 zippers lying around. I just got a brand new Brother machine for Christmas, so I'm feeling super curious to make some goodies! I don't even need to go fabric shopping. Wow!
I love your energy and attitude! I have use this video to re-learn zipper installation! Has been 50 years since I put a zipper in anything and your tutorial has me going! Thank you!
Mr. Domestic, that was the BEST video that I have come across to stitch a simple pouch.
Your instructions and tips are soo clear and easy to follow !!
The videographer too has done a fantastic job, filming the entire process !!
Many Thanks !!!
Hey Mathew! Fun video as always and i love your fabric (the lining is my most favourite!!!
I love the tiny zigzag for your corners and for each edge of the zipper...the other thing I love about your instructions is the position of the zipper teeth when sewing all away around the pouch..I never knew which way to align the teeth when sewing around ! Thanks and now your videos are my fav !!
Absolutely perfect....so many options in size this way...Love it!!! Thanks so much!
Nice to see another guy into sewing. I got hooked on machine embroidery and then naturally flowed into the sewing arena.
Subscribed just because of your personality!! Plus the tutorial is excellent! I'm old and set in my ways and always bought a zip to fit my needs. Buying a longer zip is just a fantastic idea!! Looking forward to more videos and banter 👍💙👏
Omg!!!! I just fell in love with you!!!! Your energy is fabulous 🥰.. loved the video can’t wait for more!!!
This world sure needs more delightful, lighthearted people like you, man :) THANK YOU for sharing your fun instructional videos, you always make me smile :)
One more thing: Whoever finds ANY reason to make a negative comment about your tutorials is only showing the world how sad and miserable THEY are with themselves... it only reflects THEM as the type person they are. So, let's all pray for them, and you just keep on keepin' on like you do so well, and the world will surely benefit :)
Oh my I am so glad I found you...I am starting to get back to sewing.. you made this look so easy and you being fun to watch is the cherry on top. Thank you so much!
I am new to sewing and by far This has to be the easiest zipper pouch I have yet to run across, I am sold on your channel. Good job thanks
I really love this video....starting my Christmas gifts early (it's July!) and since I have 3 young grand-daughters under the age of 12 and my youngest niece is 11, guess what they'll be getting...filled with a few girly treats. Thanks Mr. Domestic.
Sue Mathieson
I love this I’m gonna make it over and over for teachers, nurses, make them instead of gift bags I can put make up and pencils and things like that as gifts. And it’s such a great way to use up scraps. I watched another tutorial on another channel and I got really confused with the zipper part how to sew over the zipper you made it so clear
Love this. I haven’t made one, I like watching for the entertainment value. You’re such a happy Chappy!
But I’m going to make one right now
You are so fun to watch. Very informative and I LOVE your laugh! Great video, can't wait to see more!
oh lovely! I am going to sew several for my daughter as she is having a new baby! Thank you!!
I’m so glad I discovered you, Mr. Domestic. And, yea, you don’t backstitch on a seam that be stitched over on a subsequent operation. But, the best things about your channel are the clever ideas and great explanations.
This is great!!! I could watch you all day just to make myself feel better!!! Love the zipper tips!
Really great tutorial and fun to watch. I've been afraid of zippers and wanted to make a pouch for a long time. Now, I can do it! Thank you for sharing and I like how easy you make it! Thank you!
I love your haircut! 💕 This will make great Christmas stocking gifts. You are the bestest with the bestest projects!!
Love your channel - the whole vibe is awesome. I've been making zippered bags for awhile …. and yet …. I still picked up some tips from your video. Thanks!
You are always a joy to watch!
You’re right about the tape. Seems so much easier and I’ll have to get some. I’m going to make some pouches tomorrow. I’ve watched so many videos and this seems a bit easier. I have an antique Kenmore and need a new machine just not sure where to begin. Thank you Mister D.
Wow! This was great! I’ve always been intimidated by zippers but your tutorial was great! I made my little zipper pouch and it’s not perfect- but for my very first one I’m very pleased with it. I impressed myself 😉. Also, I feel like I personally know you now, because I rewatched this video over and over again each step of the way. Lol.
I can’t believe how AWESOME the pouch is that I just made! I have always felt all thumbs around zippers…. But that tutorial was spectacular! OMG, I want to make a million of these!!! ❤️
Well I didn’t make a million, but I made SEVERAL as Christmas presents and they were very happily received! I used some fusible fleece to give the outer fabric a little more body (I used quilting cotton). One of them I machine quilted and it was really lovely!!
From a fellow (male) sewist…….Thank you for the fun and wonderful projects. You are a great "Joy".
Great video! The pouch is awesome, your tips/tricks were too!
Awesome video! I have made two already today. Thank you for making it so clear and so much fun! I'm not afraid of zippers now :) Oh la la, thank you Mr. Domestic!
Your wee girl will love this! Thank you for the demo. Off to the machine to make one for the grandson. Got a truck as a picture! AND get some of that wonder tape, WOW! First time I have seen that!
@@MxDomestic Thank you. Love from Auckland New Zealand xx
I love the zigzag trick and also, you have a great laugh!
Great little bag! I didn't know WonderTape worked better when heat setting it! Love how easy the lining piece and the outside pieces worked. So easy to understand. Thank you.
Love how you do the zipper. A bit of smart thinking there.
I could not love you more! Thanks for your ingenious designs and clear, fun tutorials.
30 years making these and I learned a few awesome tips! I’ll do my opening on the side with a tag instead of the bottom though! You rawk!
you are awesome to watch and listen to! Thanks from Ontario Canada !
Thank you so much You’re so funny and clever too. I really love 💕 watching you make things.
I like the zig-zag reinforcement idea and I'm also using the stitch all the way across the bottom of the liner. Thanks.
I loved this tutorial. So simple and I love your laugh and joy
You, Mr Domestic, have the BEST Zipper Cosmetic Bag tutorial I have ever come across...and I thought I had seen them all. I now want to see more of anything you have tutorials on. Thank YOU very much=)
Hi from Scotland just found you,I,m a novice sewer and your ar3 just so clear in your instructions.thankyou
I have viewed many zipper pouch videos. Yours is the only one that actually shows you pressed that lining opening (where you placed the tag). I always wondered why the others didn't do that, as pressing makes a project look more professional. Thanks.
I like the way u laugh and spread positive energy..
You are very precise and careful despite your jokey approach Love this video clear instructions and completely mad
I am in love with you! You make this so easy and fun!
I have watched several of these and I find yours the easiest and fast. Any videos on bags. Tote bags. Thanks
