The best part of your video is clear verbal instructions along the whole way. I find videos that just show the actions with no words a waste of time to watch because it’s so unclear to beginners. So thank you very much.

THANK YOU for giving the detentions at the beginning of the video. And for getting right into the subject. Don't enjoy having to stop the video to count the grid to get the measurements. Or having to wade through 5 minutes of the weather or each piece of Aunt Martha's fabric stash. that we are looking at. Great presentation. Easy and clear. Don't get me wrong, I understand nostalgia. My mom left me all kinds of supplies. But, well, I am sure I am not the only person who watches videos to learn something new. :)

I did make this purse. I did modify. I added D rings loops on the side and instead of curving the bottoms, I boxy bottomed the bag. Thank you for your ease of teaching.

I love revisiting your older videos. It reminds me of projects that I have completely forgotten about. I may have said it before but 11 years ago when I wanted to learn to sew, you were my favorite RUclipsr I watched to help me learn. I was wanting to give my daughter everything I made for my 1st grand baby everything I made myself. She now has 4 babies with the youngest 2 yrs old. I have sewn for all the grand babies every since. I now have 8 grand babes with the youngest ay 8 months. I love sewing for all of them.

Not only are your projects cute, beautiful, and parctical; and not only are your tutorials clear and concise; you know the proper use of "to lie." "The fabric 'lies' flat." "Keep the fabric 'lying' flat." Music to this English teacher's ears. Brava!!

Hi Absolutley brilliant it is nice to see a purse like this done in ENGLISH not chinese or russian, I have been looking for days. I want to make a purse for my bag the one I have got is falling apart so I prefer to make one. Thank you for a really clear explanation of the purse best wishes Debbie from the UK xxxx

Hi there. I made this originally using your measurements, & then used old pair of jeans and made it larger (14 x 11) to carry an iPad. I used the adhesive 1/4 inch foam to stabilize it. I’d love to post photos but I’m not tech savvy enough to do that 😋. I love this project!!! Plan to make many more to give as gifts to friends and family. You are an awesome instructor!!!

I'm returning to sewing after a break of several years. I used to make a lot of zipper pouches and ALWAYS had trouble with any zipper at the top of the pouch. Now I'm slowly reteaching myself these skills, but was apprehensive about that zipper. Your tutorial here MAKES SENSE and makes it look super easy! Nothing I've come across online is anywhere near as clear about how to handle the ends of the zipper. THANK YOU!

These are fabulous for so many things... Vanessa, you are one of the best teachers I have seen. You show every little detail, but you continue to flow with a nice peppy voice so it makes you want to just sew, sew, sew. Plan to buy into the organizer class right after spring break and can’t wait.... Thank you for all you do. I sew with my granddaughter and she sells her projects to give money to a Xmas project that gives a huge party to underprivileged children. These will be wonderful for her to make.

    Love your tutorials.
I like to change purses a lot. These zipper pouches are a get help to me.
I have a purple pouch that I use for lip dew and cough drops.
A red pouch for nail file, clippers, tweezers etc.
Yellow pouch for credit card, license, money etc.
Changing purses is no problem. Grab the pouches, put them in the new purse,
So easy to find what I am looking for.
Thank you for being a great teacher.

Thank you for a very detailed tutorial, Vanessa. You are an excellent instructor who really explains all the potential "gotcha" areas where a sewist could run into problems if they're not careful. A very lovely and functional project, thanks for taking the time to plan, film, edit and post this tutorial ! ~Diana from Toronto.

Made the duo zip pouch today. I have been looking for a pouch that I can use as a hip pouch to hold phone and keys when I walk the dog. I simply added tabs with d rings on the sides. I also made a long waist strap that fits around my waist with lobster claps on each end and now I can use it as a hip bag. Great tutorial. Thanks
