Are there slow and fast curing resins cos I’m sure the UV resin I used hardens quicker.

Yes there are and different viscosities available and many factor to how fast it dries. If you color them with pigments or mica powders like i did it increases the time a good bit and also the thickness so a small amount will cure very fast and the power of your cure light is also a factor

Q1) How much would you charge for a repair like this?
Q2) These resins don't need a hardener mixed in? The two part epoxies are what's putting me off offering this to people. By the time I mess around with all that it'll be an hour for sure and I'd have to charge more than what the knife is worth. But the single stage squirt and sand solution seems a bit better. How long does it take to dry without the UV light? Are the brand you link to the only ones that cure with UV or does all epoxy cure faster with a UV light?

I am using hard UV epoxy it's made to dry under UV light or out in the sun will work too. I charge about $10 for this repair For full handle replacements I charge a minimum of $125

@@ALXSHARPEN For $125 I presume you make the handles from wooden scales and pins or do you make and shape from an epoxy mould?

@@iSharpen both wood and epoxy I like wood best and have also made handles that were both a combination of wood and epoxy

@@ALXSHARPEN Would like to see your handle making process sometime. I'm getting into handles a bit (just practicing on my own knives) and it's pretty fun. Do you have a good method to repair cracked plastic Henckels handles? I was thinking to maybe dremel out some material along the crack to make it large enough to do this resin method, but haven't tried it yet. I've had quite a few knives come in where the handles are cracked and portions are loose, and need to figure out a good way to repair them. It's tricky though, because it takes a bit of time and it can quickly become not worth it for the customer or me for what I would have to charge. Thanks as always for the great content!
