Just a few notes: The first process probably just dissolves the rust. Lemons contain citric acid which dissolves rust. The charcoal is probably just working as a carrier allowing a paste to be made. I guess that clay or sawdust would work just as well. I'm not sure whether this would work with a modern saw. These have tempered edges which are nearly as hard as the tool steel in the file and the teeth might snap when you bend them. I would suggest heating the saw before sharpening and adjusting the teeth. Andrew, Norway
Taking the temper out by heating will soften the edges also. There is a specific tool to bend ("set") the teeth angle a saw set. It does each to the correct angle. Also the teeth need filing to the same correct angle and height. They shouldn't need re-tempering as shown, it would make future sharpening risky. Modern hard cheap saws are probably throw away types, we love out rubbish. They'd be all plastic if possible.

Да и вообще зачем ее снимать. Но если уж снимаешь ржавчину то что что помешало разобрать пилу и снять ржавчину со всего полотна? Что помешал взять правильный надфиль? Почему не затачивались острия зубьев? Тем более что на картинке видно, что изначально они были сточены, чтобы правильно резать древесину. И собственно, в чем простота метода? Только в том, что правильный метод не применен?

Very time consuming. Cheaper to buy a new saw. I know a guy who can sharpen the saw blade using an electric motor equipped with a diamond disc. He charge $2.00 for labor. Takes 10 minutes.

Для заточки пилы используется приспособление, зажимаемое в тисках, в эту приспособу уже зажимаешь само полотно, оно приспособой наклонено немного под углом, чтобы удобнее было затачивать. Приспособы если нет, делаешь ее за пару минут из куска жести. Берешь треугольный напильник и проходишь по всем четным зубьям, потом вытаскиваешь полотно, переворачиваешь и проходишь по оставшимся нечетным. В результате ножовка как новая, режет практически сама!

Well I normally just throw them away and buy a new one, but I can make the time to try this at least once. If I get a good result I may even stop throwing them away and actually fix them. Thank you

Вы выбрали неправильный напильник. Нужно работать ромбовидным напильником, он более подходит по размеру Вашей ножовки. Ржавчину убрать можно и более простыми способами. Закалку зубьев тоже можно проводить более грамотно.

Not very impressive. First, the blade should have been removed from the handle to work on it. The rust removing technique was poor at best, as a lot of rust was still on it. At least he knew enough to set the teeth after sharpening.
Ничего нового, всё старо как дерьмо мамонта. Да и точить нужно не таким напильником, а специально приспособленным для этого надфилем. Считает себя специалистом, а на деле дилетант. Гонится за просмотрами.

Какой-то хренью занимается! Единственно с чем соглашусь - пройтись треугольным напильником, и может быть разводкой. На ржавчину можно наплевать, при пилении ржавчина будет сама отставать везде где можно. И зачем в конце отжигать полотно? Оно же закаленное!

The English know a lime from a lemon! I add lime to steel wool to remove rust. It's just for the refreshing aroma. Doesn't affect rust.

Какой-то хренью занимается! Единственно с чем соглашусь - пройтись треугольным напильником, и может быть разводкой. На ржавчину можно наплевать, при пилении ржавчина будет сама отставать везде где можно. И зачем в конце отжигать полотно? Оно же закаленное!
