My dad allways said, even though he was a honest man, "Never crap in your own nest".
Hinting that, if us kids wanted to go that route, don't steal from familly, Friend, neighbors, or your lokal stores.
Ain't fun to be shun by any of those, that only leaves you to live in your lonly misery.

It's not nust in California that you can't legally block the intersection.

Story 1 .... if you're being followed, drive right to a police station! Call 911 as well to document what they are doing!

Intersection Story: OP should have called 911 to report her for Uttering Threats, Stalking and Dangerous Driving (in the parking lot)...
    I would have...
And because of the Blue Tooth Hands Free system built into my van, I don't even have to hold my phone up to my head so she wouldn't even know I'm calling the Police until she either gets close enough to my van to hear the conversation or the Police arrives...

Don't block intersection story: That's pretty much a law in every state, whether is at an intersection with a signal or not. There are several busy intersections with lights where I live that have enough traffic that the cars can block intersections at least one block behind the light at rush hour. One of them is by one of the major hospitals in an otherwise residential area.
Tutor story: I'm very glad you've got a way to protest and potentially remove the bad review. This is just a cheapskate Karen annoyed she's not getting her way.
Lottery story: If you can't afford to lose, DON'T PLAY!
Neighbor/thief story: I'd invest in a few more cameras, including hidden INTERIOR cameras facing doors and windows. An alarm system might also be in order. This neighbor will eventually get out. Investigate getting a restraining order as well.

When the chair was stolen, OP should have put in Cameras...
That way, when the bike was stolen, OP would have video proof of who the thief is and can call the Police to Press Charges...
Hell, in today's world, if you move into a home, you are a fool if you don't immediately install cameras that watch all entries to the property and home the day you sign the closing papers and receive the keys...

Story 1 - that law took affect in 1987 - 37 years ago. You'd think people would pay attention to it. Too many don't.

I’ve been a Christian pastor for 30 years now. This is what I have learned from weddings who are not part of the parish: You pay my honorarium at the exact same rate as the photographer. I have turned down a lot of weddings because I was, “Just the guy who signed your wedding certificate.” Hmm…Really? Photos or legal? I spent 40 hours preparing for your 30 minute gig. I’ll let you decide which is more important.

    • @Sparky0627
      @Sparky0627 20 дней назад +5

First off, why are you taking 40 HOURS to prepare? I'm not saying that your part isn't important, but the photographer is LITERALLY documenting their precious memory! They're also preparing a photo album (digital and printed) for them. All you're doing is walking them through their vows and then getting a free meal! They could have a close friend or family member get an online certification and do the same thing!
If you get a bad photographer, their losing precious memories (because they'll see things they might have missed)!
Second, unless you've been close to one or the other, as I stated, they could get anyone else ... family, friends, etc. to get an online certification to do your part! It's literally just helping them recite their vows and then getting a free meal!
Third, you say 40 hours to prepare ... why? Rehearsal is important, but every member of the bridal party is there too. And don't you get another free meal afterwards? Your part is 10 to 15 minutes and then a free meal. It's not like you haven't performed the ceremony FOR OTHERS many, many, many times before! I understand that you want to customize each time, but 40 hours worth? Really? 😮😮😮
Yes, you should get an honorarium, but the same as the photographer? Psssh posh!
I'm not a photographer, but wtf would you believe your part is anywhere near the importance of tbem? 😮😮😮😮

@@Sparky0627 How many years of theological education do you have? How many hours does it take to prepare a sermon for any given Sunday (we can average Christmas and Easter). How many hours does it take to get to know the couple if they are not part of your parish? How much is your time worth? Do you not realize that every single wedding is videod? Does the officiant get residuals from that? If you want a, “do you, do you, you are married” at the courthouse, I applaud that! Honestly, I do! Please look up the going rate for a JP is. You, my friend will be very surprised. And a, “free meal?” Are you kidding me? There is no such thing. I no longer live in your version of, “Little House on the Prairie.” The parson cannot live with just a gift of a chicken ready to butcher (and not a laying hen.). You, sir, underestimate the worth of people, their skills, training, and experience. You might just ask a professional welder to fix the frame on your old Chevy for a six pack of beer.

When I chaired the Worship Committee at my church, we were struggling with what to charge as a facility fee for weddings where no one was a member of the church but simply wanted beautiful wedding pix. My suggestions of: as much as the wedding dress or the flowers in the sanctuary were shot down. This would have been on top of the minister's and organist's fees.

@@jamiesuejefferyNot saying a minister doesn't need or deserve to be paid to conduct a wedding, but I really don't believe that one is spending 40 hours of prep time for one, or would need to. It's not like the reciting of the ceremony takes that long, and why would one need to get to know the couple to do so? I'm guessing you never hear from them again afterward. If you've done weddings, you probably know the words by heart. So what exactly are you spending so much time doing other than getting acquainted, which seems completely unnecessary?

Yeah, I remember that $2 billion jackpot with the Powerball. Funny thing is, I don’t play the lottery because it’s a losing bet. Your chances of winning are one in 122.5 million to one against. Honestly, I’ve viewed the lottery as a tax on the poor and stupid. I may be poor, but I ain’t stupid. So I don’t play it. I just don’t have the budget to support it. so, the old guy asking if he could get his money back if he doesn’t win, maybe he should’ve read the fine print on the bottom of that lottery ticket once he purchased it. It says in bright bold letters: “absolutely no refunds.“ 6:53

Might be worse. My Son in law very first girl friends grandparents were murdered last weekend by who the police think, are their neighbors, they lived quiet rural life on a cul-de-sac and there was a rental near them. Known meth and drug dealers.
The news said they put up a hell of a fight and thry both lost. Both in their 80s and would have given them everything. What did the assholes get. A couple hundred bucks and their credit cards. And the car. Two lives gone over money. I didn't know them personally but know the young woman and our whole area is just in shock.
Everyone talks about how high the crime rates are in big cities, but so much happens out here in the sticks, too. No where seems safe.

Lotto story, this doesn't surprise me in the least,
Considering the fact that anyone who plays the lotto in the first place is horrible at math, and enjoys basically THROWING MONEY AWAY..
Someone who would spend $1,200 on lottery tickets is already a troglodyte!
The op literally should have said to the man go ahead and call the police you spent money on the lotto, which goes directly to the state, who then pays the police with state money... The only thing the police are going to do is escort you out of the store sir! but please , feel free to call them!
I am bored and could really use a floor show involving the police, YOU
Possibly being arrested & MAYBE EVEN TAZED IF I'M LUCKY, and FINALLY the WALK OF SHAME YOU WILL THEN HAVE TO MAKE. EITHER ALONE TO YOUR CAR, OR.....
IN HANDCUFFS AND INTO THE BACKSEAT OF A COP
CAR, ON YOUR WAY TO THE STATION.
SO PLEASE...CHOOSE YOUR NEXT FEW ACTIONS EXTREMELY CAREFULLY!!.

Not entirely. I will occasionally buy a lottery ticket. I don't expect to win, but miniscule odds are still higher than no odds, and it's no more of a waste of money than microtransactions in a mobile game. It's only bad if you spend what you can't afford to lose.

Say what you will, it’s an individual’s choice to play, I’d rather the money spent stay in the state rather than to surrounding states coffers. I don’t play very often; only when it’s worth it, say the Jackpot is $300-400 million or higher. As I’m currently an hour or so from the nearest outlet, I don’t play very often.
My state is one of a very small handful that doesn’t have a lottery, the states surrounding mine all have lottery’s. We came w/in one vote this last Legislative session to allow my state to vote on the issue. Special interests such as the other states & the Poarch Creek Indians (who have exclusive rights for casinos) likely bribed Legislators to vote it down. The Religious faction objection is no longer an issue like it once was.

Geez with the lottery its gambling -basically your giving yoyr money away. I do occasionally buy 1 ticket just so i can hope against hope and daydream about becoming rich and never worry about money again but i 100% understand im donating to the state. Oh and supposedly the schools.
If i want to gamble, I'll head to one of the many casinos in my state-the odds are a teensy bit better i might win.
And ya know it's all luck cuz i like the one armed bandits. I have a set limit and onc3 its gone im done because I'd rather spend money on something than throw it away.
It might just be that im lucky but the few times I've gone gambling i have won and came homevwith more than I brought but I know the odds are never in my favor.
Luckily there are fun free slot machines games on your phone that i can play when i get the urge to play 😅
What is it about the noise that they make that just lingers in your head? Im sure there is a scientific reason the tones are addictive.
Just tip the free drink ladys and gents and enjoy being stupid occasionally. Don't think its a way of life😮

The lottery story is so dumb. Like how does he think they find the lottery? And if everyone got a refund on the losing tickets, like, who would pay for that? The whole point is you’re gambling and you accept those odds when you buy it. Winning the large jackpots like this is so low. Don’t drop 1k gambling if you can’t afford to lose it. Make it make sense 😵‍💫😵‍💫 and I always love how people doing something wrong threaten police, please do sir
