On the rental home story I would use the owner not disclosing the terms of the pool as an excuse to break the lease and threaten to take him to court if he attempted to charge any fees or withold deposit.

It's not necessary. When you rent a property you rent THE WHOLE PROPERTY unless something is specifically excluded i.e., there's a paragraph that says the owner can come and use the pool. Once someone has rented a house it's THEIR HOUSE as long as the contract is in force and if the owner shows up unannounced they have no legal right to enter it for any reason other than an active emergency (water leak, storm damage etc) and they can only come in for an inspection per the terms that are spelled out in the particular state but usually it's 48 hours advance notice. This also includes coming into the yard in general, again, unless there's some kind of urgent situation like the home owner isn't mowing and the local municipality is threatening a fine. TLDR the property owner is an idiot and it would be an open and shut case against him in court.

I'm the victim of a lazy postman. He just didn't want to deliver a package and wrote a slip that said no one was home. I was home. Another time the postman shoved a box so hard into the mailbox and broke it. I had to pay to fix it. Post office never responsible.

    • @aaronmurphy9353

I hear that. I had proof that my postal worker stole two of my deliveries... Stupid ass kept changing his story about where he delivered my stuff on two occasions. I told the Post Master I was not happy with my packages being taken by his guy. He said 'his guy wouldn't do that' even after I pointed out all the Guys lies.

    • @sypoth
      @sypoth Месяц назад +8

Has video proof the guy was opening mail and intentionally damaging boxes. He would literally throw them in the ground and kick them to the door while playing on his phone. Reported him, postmaster said he couldn't do anything. Demanded to know who could, post master said nobody could. So I started to call the cops infront of the guy. Postmaster suddenly became allot more cooperative in offering to reimburse me and we never saw that guy again.

I had the basically the same problem. my address is 306 XXXX and a lady at 306 private road WXYZ gets a ton of packages due to running a business from her home. So my post man just delivers anything that is going to 306 to her. After going to my post office and being a Karen a couple of times they decided to have a nice long talk with my guy and now he can find my house with packages!

WTF!!! The owner of that house is just asking for a lawsuit!!! Tell him that it's not going to be your responsibility if one of the family members dies in the pool while he's at home. Definitely get a lawyer taking the owner to court stating that this was not a part of you agreement, that they misrepresented themselves in terms of every aspect of the property. As well as this is total BS with the fact that You might in trouble with your rental insurance for this, Make them pay for this mistake.

Post office story. At my previous three addresses (they were all serviced by the same mail centre) the mail service was bad the entire time (total of 26 years). Things would be returned to sender, be delayed for weeks or even months (two and a half years in one case), held at the post office for collection without bothering to inform me they were there (and it was only because I was in contact with the sender that I knew anything about the packages), or just go missing never to seen again. Complaints didn't go anywhere until I finally turned very nasty (for example I had one guy insist I move my mailbox, and he refused to listen when I told him it was physically impossible until I started getting extremely angry), whereupon things would improve for a while but then slip back, and sometimes it wasn't until I took things to the postal Ombudsman they took me seriously. I do understand that in "Barb's" case, though, she's just being an idiot.

I had a postman that refused to deliver mail to my house because I owned a Doberman. It never threatened him or even saw him. He had looked over the fence one day and saw it in the back yard and decided that he would stop delivering my mail until I got rid of it. In the end they changed his route and I got my mail delivered again.

To be fair, I used to work for the post office for three months. I was more terrified of a loose St Bernard then a chained pit bull because the St Bernard was coming towards me and I’ve also felt THE TEETH of a dog on my thigh. No teeth marks but still. We had the Post Office thing happen to us, too. It was only one package - out of probably triple digits worth of items we’ve ordered lot online - but we did raise a stink about it. It was definitely a postal screw up, which they admitted. We wound up having to sign for packages for the next six months, though.

The Internet Password story: The next time she demands the password, OP should look at her and say, "the password is 'karengetyourownwifi' all lowercase..." and walk away. (She'll put that in and blow a gasket when it's NOT the password.)

She needed to talk to her kids teacher on Facebook? There's an app for that. Both iOS and Android. And you don't need the internet to use them. Just a cell phone signal (of course, you'll be paying for data usage on your cell bill then. Maybe it would be cheaper to get your own wifi?)

on the rental house story, I'm wondering who pays for the water bill. I know that pools need their water levels kept up by adding water almost constantly. If OP is responsible for the water bill then he should be able to shut off the feed that goes to the pool because if "I (the renter) don't have exclusive use of the pool then I'm not going to pay to keep it topped up. I also would have let the land lord how big a slobs his family members and that I would not be contributing to any cleaning up after them. Can the neighbors see the pool area? If so I would put out a cheap sign saying that the side yard is not part of the tenant's area of concern or usage. The reason for the sign being cheap is because it will likely need to be replaced often. I might even say who is making the mess on the sign(s).

Good Saturday everyone! This is one of my favorite post (mail) stories: One year, I served as pastor for a town of 640 people (Yes. This is what it said on the outskirts of town, right next to the elevation sign.). I was the pastor of the LARGEST church (refer to the previous population) in town. I was busy on Christmas Eve (For those non-Christians, Christmas and Easter are the biggest attended services of the year.). In the middle of my Christmas Eve preparations, I received a phone call from the postmaster (no one had local delivery), telling me I had a couple of packages and that I just might want to come pick those up before they closed at 4:00 p.m. What can I say? Be kind, rewind. :) Have a great day everyone!

But now I live in the country, and although people yell at the mail people because their packages didn´t get there yet, they are very patient and kind. Sometimes they even carry the packages out to the vehicles for people. Hooray for the country life!

At which point you can even change the name of your wi-fi so it's even useless to use the previous name of the wi-fi.

Thanks, I wasn't aware that you could do that, so I looked it up. As a public service, here it is:
How to Hide Your Wireless Network...
Memorize or write down your wireless network's SSID or network name so you don't forget it. Go to your router's settings in a web browser, and navigate to the "Home/Wireless network/WLAN" page. Uncheck the option to broadcast the SSID to hide your network.
