Y’all amazing. Also come to Tennessee we gladly welcome you here 👏
6:45 Josh almost got it right, a triple play is when there are two players on base, two bases loaded, and the team on defense manages to get them, and player up at bat, out all in one play.
The world series also includes Canadian teams. Toronto, Blue Jays
What’s with the subliminal message halfway through the video 😂
@jolly fyi triple play refers to when there are three outs in one at bat (player hits ball and opposing team gets the person who hit the ball out and the two people on base, ending that inning)
“That’s not gone well” is a hilariously British response to dropping your food on the ground at a baseball game
It’s a typical Brit response though!
that hurt me in my belly
The American response would be something like " F**K!.

The best! 😂
Let’s face it, considering how gawd-awful this year has been for Americans, that may be the best moment of the year!!!
that made me laugh so much 😭
That was god save the king...
Especially hilarious since it's the same as God Save the King except with new lyrics.
“It’s like a gun case” is the most Texas way of describing a hot dog carrier Ollies ours now 🤣🥰🐬
Going to a sports stadium solely for the food is the most tourist thing ever. Love it.
I love that they're eating with joy in their hearts while the game is playing behind them completely ignored. haha
My guess is that MLB may not have wanted them to film the game but I think they are not as strict about the copyright as NFL.
@@M_Teeboonah, they may not be as strict, but they're always taking down any yt stream of a game or longer game footage.

The kids and I have been waiting to see this as we got to meet Josh just after he dropped the hotdog and he offered to take a picture with the kids. Thank you for being so kind to them. My daughter is still a little sad she didn’t get to meet Olly. You all made the kids day.
that's so sweet!

They seem genuinely nice, so it's good to hear that even after a tough experience, he was good to your kids. ❤
Josh used to say “you’re an idiot” every time Ollie wanted to -Lady and the Tramp-ing food. Look how far you’ve gone, Josh 😂
Ollie can be very persuasive 😂
Hi guys! Mexican here lol
Birria is a meat stew or soup, mainly made with goat or beef. The most popular is goat though. The meat is marinated in an adobo made of vinegar, dried chilies, garlic, and herbs and spices before being cooked in a broth. It's very hearty and comforting
I've only ever had beef birria, goat sounds so good.
There is nothing quite like Josh's excitement and enthusiasm on this video. "America.....we love you!" Awl Josh, we love you, too!
7:41 josh completely forgetting there is a full baseball game going on behind them made me crack up so hard... lol
As if the game has nothing to do with all this.
They went to eat, not watch the game. They understand food better than an infield fly.

I bet they don´t even know the game rules (neither do i)
It's baseball they really don't care

1) A triple play is when you get three players out in the same play - very rare; 2) the cheese on the top of the nachos was cotija cheese, like parmesan but more crumbly and saltier.
thank youuuu! i knew the cheese wasn't parmesan but i couldn't remember what cotija was lol. i knew just from the look of it it was the same cheese we throw on our street corn.
6:56 When the pitching team outs one of the runners, that's called a "play." A double play is when you get the batter and one runner out, usually 2nd base and 1st base, but can be done 3rd base to 2nd base if the ball was hit into the outfield. A triple play is extremely rare, and does sometimes require the bases to be loaded, but its when there are no outs in the inning, and the pitching team outs the batter and two runners, instantly ending the inning.

When Josh was describing a triple play, i really thought he was about to nailed it but then he went the complete wrong direction lol
he was so close until then
he literally described the *opposite* of a triple play 🤣
[edit] for the non-baseball-fans, here's way too much info 😄😄 ...
He described a "three-run homerun", which is where you *score* three points. But a "triple play" is where the batter hits the ball in such a way that they get out, and two other base-runners get out as well. That's three "outs", which means they don't get to bat any more and that team's offensive turn is over for the moment.
A triple play is the opposite of scoring points, since you literally have to give up your "offensive" turn haha. A triple play is pretty rare; it can really only happen when first and second base are occupied and the batter hits a ground ball. And tbf, a three-run homer is pretty rare too. You need two people on bases and you need to hit a home run. (if there's any moneyball types reading this, what are the stats on triple homers vs triple plays?)
He had us in the first half, I'm not gonna lie.
Sounded good to me
@@doloreskozlowski he described a three run home run, not a triple play.
Fun fact: the “World Series” was originally the “World’s Series”, sponsored by a newspaper called The World.
And some forget that Canada also exists, has baseball teams and is not located in the US...
Oh wow, that explains so much, because brutally honest, it always sounded so out of touch with the world to me. Thanks for explaining that!
That seems to be pretty disputed by several experts in Baseball history, though.
@@MrSchn3ll Canada is a loft apartment over a great party.
I did not know that!
6:00 The short clips of music that they keep hearing is the “walk up” music for each batter. Each batter in baseball selects which song they want to have played as they walk to the batter’s box. The stadium personnel easily accommodates each player’s request. That’s why they only hear about 30 seconds of the song because that’s all it takes for the batter to get ready. They turn the music off right before the ball is pitched (thrown).
0:07 in, talking about doing the most Texas thing possible, and the guy holding the Brisket is in a Kentucky shirt
y’all must have been some of the most texan cowboys in a past life because the way y’all get so giddy around texas things has my lil texan self hootin’ and hollerin’ 🤠💗💗
For those who may not know, a triple play is when usually a batter hits the ball into play and they get the batter, as well as 2 players on base out in one play! Enjoy international viewers!
Ironically it could be- someone on third being forced out at home, then forced at third, and subsequently at second. It could also be a fly-out and getting two players out after a total of three players... A triple play technically is getting *3 Players Out* 💪
edit: grammatical errors
The batter wouldn't need to be recorded as an out if the bases were loaded.
After seeing this I wonder why there is an obesity problem
It doesn't have to be the batter.
Any three out combo work...
here is a scenario where the batter is not thrown out.
Bases loaded...batter bunts the ball but the ball sits about a foot from the plate. Catcher grabs the ball...steps on home plate. throws the ball to third and then on to second...triple play.
Literally the exact opposite of what they said, which is really funny
The song that was playing that Josh liked so much is “God bless America”
“My home sweet home”
Ollie's face when Josh said the hotdog needed to be Lady and the tramp'd hahahahahahaha he's waited his entire life for this haha
As soon as I saw the hot dog, I knew they would do the Lady and the tramp thing. Lol
When Josh said "America, I love you." the song was "God Bless America" which is sung during the 7th inning stretch.
The short clips of music you heard are called walk-up music. The players select their walk-up music and it's played when they come up to bat.
I was screaming that the whole video haha

Baseball is one of those things that's incredibly boring on TV, and incredibly fun in person. You have to experience it in person to truly appreciate it. It's not just the sport, it's the experience.
That is exactly right! One thing that is kind of astonishing about being there is you get a “feel” for what the players are thinking and what their intentions might be. That really draws you into the game and the experience.
You are absolutely right about that! It is something that has to be experienced in person, not on tv and with friends and/or family.
Same with basketball - not the boring part - the entertainment value
Spot on! I'll never forget my first experience at a live baseball game. Back in the 80's I watched baseball all the time on TV but my first trip to see the Cardinals in Busch Stadium was awesome. As I went thru the concrete tunnel into the stadium proper, I felt like Dorothy leaving the black-and-white world of Kansas and walking into the colorful world of Oz. And what a game it was!
Josh and Ollie, after the tough week we have had here in America I needed this video more than you know. Thank you for always lifting everyone's spirits no matter where you are. Cheers! 💖
I’m giving a thumbs up for the total cluelessness on baseball. “Triple Play” 😂😂😂😂
I love Josh and Ollie's enthusiasm for iconic American culture- like kids in a candy store. Also you can't go wrong with bread, cheese, and meat.
"I think we are the first people in the history of the world to argue for longer baseball games." The most 100% accurate statement of this video xD I love baseball and we have introduced a pitch clock, rules of how many times you can throw to first to check a runner on base, a runner starting on second in extra innings, and now we're testing robot umps. Even baseball fans are like, "This is too long guys."
So you're saying baseball is worse off with the innovations? I like the faster games.
@kokoken1 Oh I never said that at all xD In fact I am happy it was moving faster game to game. My point was to emphasize that they really are the only people to say, "Well we should make the games longer." XD
@@MagnetHero Remember how long a Cricket match is.

Birria is braised meat in a flavorful sauce. Typically it is beef, usually brisket, but it can also be goat. Both are good. The reason there was cilantro on top of the nachos is because Birria tacos are traditionally served with raw white onions, and cilantro on top.

As a Brit who likes baseball, I feel like I need to say this. When the World Series was first founded, the sponsor for the competition was a newspaper called The World. So World does not mean International, it is named after the first or one of the early sponsors.

Very cool fun fact! Thanks dude!
And technically whoever wins it would be the best baseball team in the world anyway so I don’t know why people always make a big deal out of it
@@Johndoe-kw5zr Possibly because baseball is played professionally in quite a few other countries and nations, to name a few Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Taiwan and obviously America, so technically if you only play against other professional teams in the same country / nation, and win against all those other teams, then you are not the worlds best, but the specific country or nations best in which you play.

For anyone wondering who doesn’t know baseball the “triple play” reference is when 3 outs are made in one play
Love the the commentary and glad you had fun in Texas. Triple play is when you make three outs during the same play, yes its pretty crazy. Also could stand for triple bypass after all that fried food.
The trick is get there about an hour early when the park first opens the doors, the food stalls are open, and the park is pretty empty. Then you have most of the game to eat and enjoy!
It's been a long time, but getting there when the doors open was just about ALWAYS our operating plan when going to a baseball game. But it wasn't to maximize food intake. Sticking with the Rangers, since they're the home team in this video, we'd pile in the car (family, uncle, aunt, cousin, whoever was going) and take the short ride to Arlington Stadium, find our seats, get some dogs or little trays of nachos and cups of Dr. Pepper -- and keep an eye out for any players that started signing autographs. I'd take off with the scorecard and see if I could collect an autograph before the player had enough of that scene. It was possible, back in the day, to get a dozen or more signatures without any security hassles or overly rude fans. And that stadium was so open and airy, under the warm Texas night sky -- we even saw an actual BLUE moon one night. If anybody was still hungry after the game, we'd hit the Jack-In-The-Box drive-thru on the way home for a bag of tacos. Sweet memories.
Not Parmesan, it’s Cotija, a very dry but flavorful Mexican cheese.
The short burst of music is called “walk up music”. The players get to choose their music. As you can imagine the variety of music is huge! Hip-hop, metal, rap, pop, country, Latin… 10 seconds of self expression for the players.

Finally! Josh is the one who suggested to “lady and the tramp”!!
That's was so funny since Ollie usually has to bully him into it.
Music plays constantly at baseball games for different reasons. Batters have their own walk up music, that plays as they leave the dugout to home plate. Sometimes after a strikeout music will play, or in between innings. Relief pitchers also can have walkout music when they come into the game.
Also a triple play is one of the most rare things in the game. Its when you get 3 outs in one play.
I have recently taken to traveling internationally and the best thing I’ve decided to do is go to at least one local professional sports game during my trips. I have seen a Japanese baseball game (go Hiroshima Carps!), which was cool because it’s VERY different from American baseball. I have also seen an All Blacks rugby game in Auckland.
The feeling of walking into a stadium in a place you’ve never been before and seeing what they do is just so cool.
You two are so proper and wonderful. Thank you for sharing your experiences in my country. You are so sweet.

Hahaha "It's like outside, only inside!" 😂🤣
On the music: each home player has an entry song when they either come in as a pitcher for the first time or as a batter they come to the plate. There's also music in between innings, and when the home team hits a home run. You should look up Sweet Caroline at Fenway Park, it's a middle of the 8th inning tradition.
As someone who goes to multiple games per season there, this video made me immensely happy.
So glad you are visiting, it reminds us not to take America for granted.

FYI, the short clips of songs you keep hearing are the walk up songs for the hitters and a triple play is when the fielding team gets all three outs in an inning on a single play
Consomé is the Spanish word for broth or soup, and in birria, it refers to the rich, red liquid that's the result of cooking the meat in broth. Birria is a Mexican stew or soup made with goat or beef that's been marinated in an adobo and then cooked in consomé. The consomé gets its rich, silky texture from collagen released by the bones when they're slowly cooked. Birria can be served in bowls, used as a dip for tacos, or as a sauce for meat or rice. Some say that birria and consomé pair well with Oaxaca cheese.
The Jolly boys finally find a food that comes with a dip!! The birria quesadilla comes with consommé, not beef fat, and it's so so so good!!!
Consomme IS almost entirely fat and collagen.
Every batter usually has a different walk-up song, which is why it sounds like a rave.
