Mine arrived today…for six quid that thing is a game changer, can’t thank you enough buddy!

Thank you watching 😊
Great job! I am really interested in the final result fitted on the car. I would like to male the same upgrade on my 6R GTI
Thanks Albert I appreciate the feedback will put it on soon 👍 watch this space
Amazing video many many thanks. I have finish bumper repair and paint but my question is why sanding the clear coat. It looks very perfect to me as it is.
If it already looks perfect it's not needed the point of sanding the clear is to remove orange peel if its required
Hi mate loved the video
I am thinking about getting a gtd style front bumper off eBay for my golf tdi however they are all primed and unpainted
Do you reckon for a first timer I would be able to pull it off ? I am generally good with these sort of things never painted a bumper though ahah and
What happens if it goes wrong is the bumper ruined ?
Is it cheaper to do this compared to a body shop painting it ?
Thanks
Hello Ayaan, I do reckon you could pull it off the first thing I painted was a bumper,
If it goes wrong you'll have to start again the bumper won't be ruined, but its very hard to mess it up when you've good instructions I made this video specifically because I messed up mine up following unclear instructions and had to start again because a lot of videos jump steps
To get the paints from your local paint shop is much cheaper the only thing it takes is your time of course
Brilliant video, how many cans did you use of each to complete the job?
Thanks Stephen, I used one can of primer, one can of my colour matched paint and one can of clear 😀
@@The_journeyy thanks for the reply, I’ve got a rear bumper I need to spray this week on a Fabia so fingers crossed it turns out presentable 😂
It will turn out great if you've time let me know how you got on 😊
How has it held up over the last 2 years. I'm going to order a bumper for my 2014 Yukon and I think I'm just going to rattle can it as it would save me 400 bucks.
If you do it properly it will last as long as body shop results
Im uneducated on this sort of thing but arent the bumper paints supposed to include a flex additive to resist cracking?
I've never heard of anything like that they're common reasons why paint peels the most common is a lack of preparation to the surface before paint, cheap 1k clearcoats and spray washing newly painted paint with a pressure washer before it's fully cured if you avoid these common mistakes and you do the process correctly like we all do you'll get bodyshop results and durability
Ok great just checkin. I'm about to paint a bumper. I like your results. Hope mine comes out similar
If you use decent paints and 2k clearcoat there's no reason why you can't replicate the results 👏
What brand paint do you use? Do you have a link?
Hi Rawson the silver in this video is colour matched paint for my car it's not a brand I've got links of all the things I used in the video in the description 😁
@@The_journeyy oh ok where did you get it colour matched? Or is it manufacture paint?
Thanks
At my local paint shop and that pant is my manufacturers paint for my car have you got the same car with the same paint code? LA7?
@@The_journeyy mine is a reflex silver edition 30. LA7W
Fantastic work! Could you have that good a job with regular auto store paint?
Nicely done. Can we see it on the car?
Hi Kristers thank you mate, just waiting on the last fog light and the lower grille to come should be here by the end of this week so will be fitting it and recording the video this week hopefully 😊
I just had my plastic bumper painted he didn't prime it he painted it then sealed it then painted it, I'm afraid it won't last, what do you think?
Hi Brenda if the surface has been prepped well and good quality paints used and clearcoat put on it should be alright and hold for a good while that could be anything from a year to five years or possibly more
The primer is important and will give it a much longer hold and adhesion but I've seen people do a decent job without it and it hold alright so it really depends 😊
@@The_journeyy thank you 😊
Glad I could be of some use 😊
@The_journeyy I think I'm gonna need to need a clear coat over the paint I can already see small chip of silver which is what the color was underneath:( I don't think it was done very thick, I'm afraid to touch it because I'm not sure how to spay paint it with no drips , and I don't want to ruin it because he charged me 300 $ :(
From what you've told me so far the job doesn't sound great if your not happy with the result don't be afraid to go tell them to sort it
You paid $300 dollars for a good job there's no way you should have any paint chipping at all 😃
