    I took a 2 year collision repair course at a community college back in 2000. I've never worked in a commercial shop, I've only done my own projects. I've learned more watching your videos in the last year than I did in that 2 year course. Keep putting out great content.

      Good to know! I’m old enough that I still have a gallon of the “GOOD” lacquer on my paint shelf and came across Chris’s station last fall and I’ve learned TONS of good stuff.

    Hi Chris, I really like these videos on you doing the prep work as you go into a lot of detail on how you do your repairs then mix and apply the primer, I wish more channels were like yours👌
    It's a shame we can't get the 2253 high build here in the UK as your version is so versatile, it's a high build, surfacer and a sealer plus it's tintable to boot, the one we have is the 2025 which is only a high build and a surfacer, I often think it's the same stuff but mixing it like yours may effect the way it works🤔
    Thanks for sharing🙏👍John UK

    Thanks for all your videos and tips. I like that gun , I will have to purchase one soon. LVLP is what I need . I like when you tell how long you wait before the next step. Because some people think it's all done it one day, and in my case I need to know more about which grit sandpaper to use and when. Great example, thanks again.

      I forgot to mention thanks for repeating your settings and what git sandpaper you used on the bumper. You probably think it's repetitive but It's NOT!! Please continue or add to the description some notes/bullets. Do this use this. Then it's up to use to follow your advice. You are one of the top 10 in my book on how to paint car parts.

    Is the air pressure set when pulling the trigger to 15, or without? Since it drops when pulling the trigger. Do you use the regulator on the compressor to limit the air going to the regulator on the gun? ie 60 on the compressor, then 15 on the regulator on the gun.

    I’m starting to do some work of mines too. But I wanted to know how did you start off with the old paint. Would you start off at 320 for a used bumper?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, I started off with 320 on the damaged areas and chips . Then sanded the rest with 600

      @@GarageNoise alright sounds good!! But let’s say I have no damaged areas or chips would I sand everything with 600 to get rid of the old paint and would I spray a new coat of primer on it?

    Hey Chris,
    Pretty new to your channel and may I say pretty damn good information and presentation.. I see you like Upol for primer and clear coat.. I like using med hardner but what thinner do you use and can you use Omni thinner with Upol products? Thx for the show and any guidance

      It's really hard to say both are really good the prd 627 vs is what I'm leaning twords but you can't go wrong with the 715 mp either. I do have a 717 vs with the split tip coming I will be comparing it to the 715 in a video.

    I tried sanding with an orbital sander from harbor freight. It’s a hercules brand, I used the sand paper that has these small holes in it, but the problem I’m having with this is that it keeps leaving the small holes from the sandpaper marked on the part of the car I’m sanding. Any idea why this happens or can you recommend a sander? Thanks
