The Vancouver Canucks have been one of the most horrific trainwrecks in hockey this season. It doesn't take a genius to decipher that conclusion from everything that's gone on. A year where they were hoping for a chance to get back to the playoffs has self-destructed faster than the team with a multi-goal lead. Players being thrown in the dog-house. Coaches being thrown in there to rot for weeks on end. A dire situation thanks to the sins of the previous GM. It's hell, and the only way to understand it all is to dive deeper.
I don't exaggerate when I say this is an everything problem. Good lord.

I’m 28 years old and have watched (or at least tried to watch) every Canucks game as far back as my memories take me. I love this team. I grew up with Nazzy, Bert and Jovo in the West Coast Express era. This team was literally the first and last thing I thought of each day.
But this season broke me. This is the first season where I willingly checked out of being a Canucks fan. I just can’t bring myself to watching games knowing I have zero hope in this franchise turning things around as long as Aqua owns the team. Watching teams like NYR, LA essentially lap us in their competitive cycle opened my eyes to just how directionless this team really is. Horvat’s prime was wasted and I am currently watching Petey, Hughes and Demko all have their primes wasted as well. There is nothing for me to like about this team rn and that’s what disappoints me the most.

As a Canucks fan it's been known blueberry man was the one pulling strings, I'm just happy everyone else is finally realizing it. I used to love following hockey and the Canucks but the past few seasons have just absolutely killed my joy for watching them. I don't even have feelings for this team alot of the time just general apathy.

Tree… The first video i watched of yours was the original Vancouver Canucks Lowcow video way back when.
Since I have longed and wondered when you would make a canucks video again.
I thought to myself, maybe a playoff failure…. Dare i say Stanley cup.
Here we are some 6 years later and so excited to see another Tree video on my beloved canucks. Yet SOMEHOW we are in a worse spot we were then. A true lowcow, stuck in perpetual mediocrity, spinning in aquilinis cycle of doom.
Love your vids Tree. Thanks for letting me soak in my own misery 🙏

You know what's sad? From 2013 to 2021 the Canucks had a FANTASTIC farm system with the Utica Comets. I'm from the Utica, NY area myself, and it was always awesome to listen to games when players like Demko were coming up through the system. To see them now is a goddamn disappointment.

The biggest problem is Aquilini. Set aside the allegations of abuse from his family, the man does not take criticism well and refuses to admit his team needs 3 years of solid rebuilding and development by stocking up prospects. He got a taste of the promised land in 2011 and has been chasing that high ever since. Just sell the team or give full control over to someone of actual talent. They had that in Linden and he left when Aquilini decided to tell him to kindly piss off...he hasnt been near the team since.

Not to mention the disaster that turned out to be Jake Virtanen. The knock on the kid at the draft was character and it turns out it was a huge issue. Here some names that went after him in the 2014 draft: Willie Nylander, Nick Ehlers, Dylan Larkin, Alex Tuch, Travis Sanheim, David Pastrnak, and Adrian Kempe.

I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Canucks but I truly believe there comes a time in every Canucks fan's life that they realize they have to cheer for another team if they want to be happy watching hockey. They haven't been the same since their fans rioted after losing Game 7 of the Finals at home to the Bruins, and losing in the 1st Round as a Presidents Trophy Winner the following year. And its ironic that the same damn thing happened to them in the 90s too.
