- Today I installed the final mod needed before going for a stage 2 remap! It turned out to be quite an easy mod to install, and I hope it's easy to follow.
Who would want to see the full mod list of my car? I can't wait! Remap is right around the corner.

The first mod to do on any VW MK4 is the big 3 upgrade along with replacing the crappy positive and negative battery terminals. I've always loved the older VW MK3 versions and when both my MK4 connectors broke it easily motivated me to do the swap and upgrade. I now see a full 14.3v charging on start-up vs the old 14.0v before the upgrade. All your positive cables if they are old can develop resistance and cause all sorts of problems particularly the Alt to Starter to the battery fuse box wires, an alternator that drains your battery overnight as it begins to fail is not fun.
Did this mod. Was pretty easy especially after watching the video. Definitely a must-have. It took a minute for it to adjust the right fuel trims with the ECU. But all in all I could tell the difference. Stage 2 ko4 GTI eurodyne tune. For now

Good'ay, Guy! Amber's lesser-half, Charlie, here! Thanks for your informally informational videos! I never thought of using a hose clamp as a temporary battery terminal lead clamp! That's genus! I would usually stop by my local 24 hour BP Gas Station an buy two generic battery terminal clamps, that usually run $2.79 USD a piece, and store them in my trunk with other parts like an extra ignition coil unit,two battery jumper cables, and my Schumacher Auto/Marine battery charger and a length of electrical extension wire to use as a plug in power source of I am fortunate to find a wall socket to power these devices while on the road! Using the hose clamp as a temporary battery post clamp would get me as far as the next service station, saving me the hassle of attempting to install the new spare part right on the side of the road hoping that I repaired it right the first time with all that passing traffic whizzing past me! But then, just spending the annual membership fee to keep my AAA Motor Club membership current would always enable me to be ready to use my Smartphone and call the toll-free number for Triple "A" and all Ina tow truck to the rescue. And, yes, all Triple A Motor Club members really do have to stand next to their vehicle with their AAA Membership Card at the ready when the tow truck arrives! (But it's not as much fun as performing a quickie "Mac Giver" fix like your hose clamp trick would be,thus not having a little brag of a story to share later with your friends and relatives, who would ask you "... However did you think of that, Charlie!? ...". And I tell them, I got the know how by learning how watching the video posted on RUclips! Thanks again!

Great video again man! Sometimes on my fez after putting fuel in it takes a while for the onboard computer and the dial to see recognise the new fuel :P

If you’ve taken the fuse out you don’t need to undo the battery as you have already created a break in the circuit just to save you some time that’s all

“Handy tip” use your car key to prise open the fuse box
You think that was nerve racking, try buying a car from Birmingham at rush hour and having to get to a petrol station on literally 0 range
And when you get to a petrol station it’s closed
And then you go to another one and it’s closed
And then you have to abandon your car and bring 2 petrol cans back with you

pump nozzle goes further in and pumps it in under more pressure probably. mine did the same when i filled it up with the carton

My gasket is leaking and i used the special tool and it stripped thebthreads even tho I started the tool by hand so im screwed
How many HP will you push after a remapping?

Hi man ,i,m doing my 1.8t for a stg2 i ve got this pump , after instal she run fine fot the night only making that high pitch sound that a bit louder than the old one but i ve read that s normal, the next day start the car put on top of the high pitch sound it kinda buzzing loud like it s pushing at maximum or something ,can you tell how your one is doing ?
Ps: i ve replace de fuel filter next day was kinda dirty i could say ,checked again the filter and looks clean now..

Did the pump come with the new o rings? Or you have to get it separately?
When your fuel is low and when u put a small amount of fuel in it it takes a while for the indicator to rise.

I guess it's best to replace it but no need to replace for updated for stage2. Many 1.8t pushing 300hp without

Heads up for anyone who puts a Walbro or any GSS342 pump for one of these. Black is POSITIVE. Yellow is NEGATIVE. Spent the last day scratching my head wondering why fuel wasn’t being pumped to engine, pump was operating in reverse!

Got same mods as u but on standard side mount made 220 bhp 270 ibft your car will be transformed when niki at rtech gets his hands on it 👍

Injectors? 4 bar fuel pressure regulator? Smoke pressure test? just wondered lol
Don't need any of those mods for what I'm going for. Don't fancy forging the internals for over a grand 😛 have some fun for 250bhp (ish) then get another project for bigger power. I don't see the point in going above 300bhp in a 2wd car 👀
I just bought a mk5 R32 had a mk4 gti before completely different cars but if you want a other project you should get a mk5 R32 and build a turbo on it my insta is @R32Brian if you are into r32's
I'm not 100% but pretty sure your standard injectors will be maxed right out if you're after 250ish bhp. Plus it's debatable if r tech would do the map with standard brakes.. And your standard dv will probably have problems holding 250hp that's why I said get a Forge Motorsport dv with uprated Springs. Not Forge the internals.. Aums are torque limited and hp limited to 300ftlb and 300hp as they have weak rods.

How’s the pump holding up?
I sold the car 2 years ago but after running the pump it ran great even after I sold it
there is a "hidden" menu on your player to turn that annoying beeping when you turn the car off, google it, best mod ever lol

I broke the same bolt on the battery, I contacted a company they break vw and other vag cars they posted it and paid £3 for all together everything
hmmm as far as i know the 1.8t has a timing belt not chains..
They have both a cambelt and a chain the belt drives the exhaust cam on the left of the engine and the exhaust cam drives the intake cam via a chain on the right of the engine
have you had your cam belt water pump done, should be done every 3 years or 40.000 miles, if you no the history of the car then thats fine if not think about doing it m8 gates are a good make to go with

058109217W thats the part number for the chain tensioner tool be carful if ur gana do it make sure to mark everthin and put everthing back how it was u have to lift the intake cam to get the tesioner out if ur timing goes out could destroy the engine easily also once u put it back together it will run like crap for a few minuets until the tensioner regains the proper oil presure
