- Carolina Crown warming up and tuning before the Murfreesboro Tour of Champions contest. The video is chronological and covers every warm-up exercise besides individual section warm-ups which took place around the middle of this video.
Recorded on July 26th in Murfreesboro TN on a Canon Powershot S100.

I could never disagree with that personally I thought crown should've won this year
it was their show, especially compared to bluecoats. They just have great performance skill.
Phantom is my fav. overall. But they all change year from year. CC is pretty damn good here

I STILL think this was the most technically proficient hornline EVER in DCI. Their attacks were razor sharp no matter what they played and those runs were smooth as silk. THIS is and will always be the GOLD STANDARD for DCI brass.
Even in my prime I was lousy at triple tonguing. This line is outstanding. Great balance with enough low brass, and the sopranos have the modesty to keep the balance - contributing to best effect.
I think it's a tie between them and '94 devils, imo

I'm a huge BD fan, but I have to admit, this is insane. They could never achieve this awesome brass sound.

Crown is the only corps that still resembles a G bugle hornline. Their orchestration is so warm and powerful.

my band director made us watch this to show how intense and serious the band was. and they're intense singing and various reps of the same parts of the show. he emphasized the director yelling feet over and over again so they would remember to mark time
akatsukibri I march drum Corp and I don't have a problem with this but for your own safety I suggest you never call a drum Corp a band

I've been a huge DCI fan since my freshman year of high school (6 years ago) and I still hate when people are elitist about calling them bands. A drum corps is a type of band, it really isn't debatable.

Eston Hensley it’s fine that it’s gotten different throughout the years but there is absolutely no point in arguing that the work put in by every corps isn’t far above almost any “band” you will find. Corps is not just a “military term for the old days”, it’s the distinction between the next level of marching and performance.
Carolina Crown is without a doubt the best hornline I have ever heard in my life....the strength, power, and intonation are TRULY unparalleled! AND they get BETTER each year...its incredible!

Almost makes me sad I aged out in 2011.
Damn near perfectly ballenced hornline, I was always taught the line's sound emanates from the contras, so I feel maybe a touch more volume from those guys and the euphs would enrich the sound. But as I said, that's just how the corps I were in were taught, this sound is spectacular regardless of what I think.

Maybe that's a big reason of why Crown's hornline is so good. Their brass ensemble leader guy person is so enthusiastic, and maybe his enthusiasm is contagious.

XxTrumpetCheerxX Yeah my band was dirt for a while, but we got a new band director before I graduated and he changed the whole band around. It really depends on your director. This is true :)
Phostings1 My band director has been teaching at my school for 31 years, but he's more of a southern style/jazz kind of guy. Honestly I think my high school band could benefit from a teacher who has more of a corps background.
+Phostings1 well we got 3rd states for 2A so I guess we're not that bad, were the top 5 2A bands in Florida :)

If i was being given those kind of inspirational speeches every competition i'd give it 200%!!!
4:53 - if anyone is curious, this is a staple of CC, and it's phenomenal in person. the entire point is to check each instrument group, ensuring they are so exactly in tune through playing that there are no wobbles or waves in the combined pitch of all instruments (you'll hear him call out "no beats" which is a wave sound you'll faintly hear with the most slightly out of tune player). it's literally checking that each players lips are vibrating _exactly_ in time with their peers - even after going explicitly out of tune at several points. it's significant.
the climax at the end always gives goosebumps, and I highly recommend you get a chance to experience it in person for warmups if you ever get the chance.
