I love the timing of the Rach Star heckler who yells “PLAY SOMETHING” right before what will damn near be the biggest opening hit he’ll ever hear💀💀

I’m pretty sure that even non-Carolina fans would even say that relentless was one of the best if not THE best hit they’ve ever done or any corps has done for that matter (I edited my mistake so carl the grammar police can sleep at night now)

2019 had a badass hit to start it right off, but 2016 put some damn hair on my chest. And 2011 is iconic for that impeccable timing with the announcement.
2011 and 2015 were very similar in that manner and I love it
2019 is my favorite dci opener of all time

Finis is my all time favorite Crown opener. One of my favorite shows as well.

The opening to "E" is one of the finest openers in DCI history. That crowd gave me chills and goosebumps when it let out it's breathtaking roar of an applause👏🏾👌🏾✊🏾😍👑 #BrilliantShow #StandingOvation
Tyler Thompson it’s their championship show. For any Crown fan it will always be special. Plus the visual added to the massiveness of that hit.
Rach Star - OMFG!!! An unamplified corps SQUASHES an amplified PA voice... Forget dropping the hammer...lol. I had to wait out the final opener, and you didn't disappoint...Such an aweinspiring opening, and the finish to it is nothing short of spectacular. I'm just beginning to watch, as I'm having a hard time moving away from IT IS...but these openers will now give me four other starting points.
There wasn't hardly even a hit in OOTW. Relentless has the loudest and most powerful hit Carolina Crown has ever done (more so than Rachstar, which was incredible).

I got to hear the relentless hit live (even if it was from about the 20 yard line...) in the georgia dome and it was insane. One of their best shows overall, no doubt.

2008 was by far the most powerful hit

I had never heard of DCI before 2015 and 'Inferno' was the show that made me fall in love with the activity.

I think many people will agree with me on this when I say that Relentless has the best Crown Opening Hit ever. But you left it completely off of your list which baffles me. Just a matter of opinion and taste I guess

Brett Lair I think ‘13 was definitely the best show, but ‘16’s hit was way better. On the matter of ‘14, I just see all of the technical softer stuff as part of the Opener as opposed to opening hit. Just different viewpoints

How could It Is make this list and not Relentless? That being said, obviously all their openers give me goosebumps. Love this corps no matter what the year brings.

2011 strong opener always makes me cry because of my personal history. The intensity of the music, power of every musician, the precision of the flags, rifles and corps themselves. You can see, feel, hear the snapping of every person in their place. I’m waiting and watching like everyone else with eager anticipation as I believe next year we will be altogether again. We must continue to have faith. We are strong and have a purpose to bring others happiness across the nation as we show that we we stand side by side with the colors of our skin and our many beliefs. When we are together on the field, strong in unity, we are one family of DCI Crown👑 ❤️

It is better to try and not make it than to not try at all.
Even if you think you can’t make it, it’s still a great idea to go to the camps and learn as much as possible. My friend went to a BD and Crown camp, and he took the tips and advice he was given at Crown and used it in his BD camp, and now he’s contracted as a Blue Devil. So go to those top corps and learn as much as you can.
