Stevie is and was one of the greatest players to live and walk the planet ! Everything about him and double trouble are legendary ! Hands down the greatest pure player and band of all time in my humble opinion
Why is it that SRV seemed so damn cool, yet he's one of the few musician who you can tell never tried to be cool. I guess that's the definition of badassery. R.I.P Stevie, happy independence day.
+ Sam Man.. I would have to say because he was "PURE HEART & SOUL".. Truly loved what he was doing. And that alone makes you badass and cool as hell.. Thankful for all the treasures he left us to enjoy, just wish he'd lived a much longer life.. I still can't grasp his tragic death..
Because he was totally genuine...right down to his shoelaces. Stevie was incapable of putting-on or doing anything he didn't fully believe in, 110%. That's why he turned down the Bowie tour... it wasn't "him."
You can tell all of them were having a blast. Tommy was walking around and smiling, even though Tommy had been playing with Stevie for a couple years he is still in awe. Tommy and Stevie have awesome showmanship. Chris was drumming the hell out of both songs and Reese was totally feelin’ all of it! The best band ever and I miss Stevie every day. Edit: even though this was his worst year with drugs he played the hell out of that show!
God that incomparable guitar playing, that perfect grovely blues voice, his suave and handsome wardrobe and jewelry, that confident and spot on body language and moves. He was the total package. Why do all the great one's die before their time? Just a quick glimpse and he's gone especially after beating his addictions and demons, life was finally going right. Why? I love you forever SRV. You are simply the greatest guitar God of all. No one compares to you.RIP
I had buried my younger brother in November 1989 after a freak auto accident and the following summer I listened to the news of stevie’s death in a helicopter accident. Two of my favorite people gone within the span of less than a year. I am numb to this day.
It takes a musician like Stevie an entire lifetime to achieve what he did and beat back his demons. He was just so damn good he did it all in 35 years, half the time it takes the other greats.
@@gustavorio329 THERE ARE a couple of ways to play it. Slow it down until the picking pattern is down. The fingering isn't bad once you get the first part slowly. slide the first note A# to b on the g string, then I pick open b and e (preparing my fret hand for the 1st slide - D to E-).
The amazing thing is that he plays it on 11 or 12 gauge strings here. I can play this riff pretty fast with 10's, but I don't have Amazon gorilla hands to do SRV gauge.
What I love about Stevie the most is that he’s a musician fist and guitarist second. He knows when it’s his turn and never steps on his guys toes. His comping for the keys was outstanding. That man was music through and through.
