Why is it that SRV seemed so damn cool, yet he's one of the few musician who you can tell never tried to be cool. I guess that's the definition of badassery. R.I.P Stevie, happy independence day.

+ Sam Man.. I would have to say because he was "PURE HEART & SOUL".. Truly loved what he was doing. And that alone makes you badass and cool as hell.. Thankful for all the treasures he left us to enjoy, just wish he'd lived a much longer life.. I still can't grasp his tragic death..

Because he was totally genuine...right down to his shoelaces. Stevie was incapable of putting-on or doing anything he didn't fully believe in, 110%. That's why he turned down the Bowie tour... it wasn't "him."

You can tell all of them were having a blast. Tommy was walking around and smiling, even though Tommy had been playing with Stevie for a couple years he is still in awe. Tommy and Stevie have awesome showmanship. Chris was drumming the hell out of both songs and Reese was totally feelin’ all of it! The best band ever and I miss Stevie every day. Edit: even though this was his worst year with drugs he played the hell out of that show!

God that incomparable guitar playing, that perfect grovely blues voice, his suave and handsome wardrobe and jewelry, that confident and spot on body language and moves. He was the total package. Why do all the great one's die before their time? Just a quick glimpse and he's gone especially after beating his addictions and demons, life was finally going right. Why? I love you forever SRV. You are simply the greatest guitar God of all. No one compares to you.RIP

hindrix pioneered things into music the average person or musician doesn't think about but the use so much. like chord progression the use of overdrive and feedback and the phycodelic rock era owns itself to hindrix. he expanded on everything available at that time and then added even more so he wasn't overrated imo. Not taking any thing away from Stevie because what he did for the blues was huge, he took a dying brand of music in the rage of arena rock and brought it back to life. rip to both who were greats in their own era, innovation is greatness and true greatness can't be overrated!

This is a phenomenal performance by a truly gifted guitarist, but I have to also give props to Reece (Hope I spelled it right). He had NO MERCY on that poor Hammond!!

Reese plays with Joe Bonamassa these days, I'd link it, but U Tube won't allow it.

Reece was a perfect compliment to the band. The Austin city limits performance was the best they ever showed. The second one of course.

Stevie Ray Vaughan with come to Antone's which is a bar in Austin Texas. of course everybody knew him there this was a blues bar. and he would talk to anybody. and after about an hour of being there. Stevie would take the stage and play for an hour on many occasions I've heard this story.
