    11:54 Sling attachments: Condition 1 Group, Ape Defense, Frank Proctor. Wish these attachments were all sold separately like QD mounts.

    I love that you came out with this video, I recently changed to that sling attachment method on my work gun, and to run lasers and light is game changer. Great video as usual.

      Same but not on a work gun just my main nightvision gun I have been trying it on and man the amount of searching “QD sling mount with same side flashlight” is insane when the answer was in front of my the whole time.

    You mentioned the condition one has a rubber to keep it in place. This can be done with just 550. Not trying to imply you didn’t know but this might save somebody some money. You can push 550 through your rail, make a girth hitch on the end then route the end that attaches to the sling through the hitch before attaching to the sling.

    Honestly, having a QD Mount in the front of my gun always annoyed me while operating and training. This is such a simple idea, I’m so glad I came across this video

    The first 2 point sling I ever bought was a Frank Proctor sling. Still using it. Took the 550 cord girth hitch attachment idea and used it on all my other slings as well, been doing that for years. Also use a QD in the rear. It’s a great way to attach slings. Quiet, minimal added weight, easily field repairable, CHEAP, fully adjustable, can run it all the way to the front, back or anywhere in between on the rail…just a great simple way to attach a sling. 👍🏻

    Always used the proctor sling since it first came out (still have ones that say WOTG). I’ve tried to go to other slings, but generally always come back. I upgrade to his newer slings for the integrated storage option which works great.
    For bolt guns or precision/comp guns I use QDs front and back for simplicity of taking the sling off before a match or to use the sling to increase tension (through my belt for example).
    Good stuff

    Any thoughts on the Blue Force Gear ULoop? Seems like a great way to get away from swivels, but still have a versatile and strong connection.

      They work well on a lot of setups. I don't like how ridged they are

  • @bghiggy

    Is it a bad idea to wrap it around the bar that separates the mlok slots? That's how I have it on my rifle and it seems to work fine.

      Nah, if it works for you and doesn't burn off you're good.

    I'm wondering how this attachment style works if you go hands-on? Does it change your mechanics at all? I mean, especially if the sling starts to loosen up on approach?

    • @KineticConsulting
      @KineticConsulting  11 месяцев назад

      When I go hands on I sling the rifle to the rear. I don't leave it up front.

      @@KineticConsulting thanks for the reply....my quick follow up is basically, when do you see this solution start to shift and change the status of the sling? Slings are good to hold the weapon when standing around, provide a stable shooting solution for longer range engagement, and preventing a rifle from displacement
      Are you concerned in the other situations that the paracord will slip around the rail and make your "good setup" less than good? Does that make sense?

    Why not bungee instead of 550?

    • @KineticConsulting
      @KineticConsulting  11 месяцев назад +1

      Bungee or shock cord don't provide the stability I'm looking for. When I sling my rifle I don't want it having more give for it to bounce or shift. I would rather it be tight and stay where I put it.

    Been doing this forever. People overthink everything in this sphere and they will seek out a commercial product instead of just doing something obvious like using paracord. Wait till you realize you can make the sling itself too. 100 yards of nylon webbing costs the same as one commercial sling, and sewing is a good thing to know how to do anyway.
