I’m a ginger ninjer and can 100% confirm long sleeves and full coverage is the way to go. Sunburns and Melanoma is not fun, kids.
Same. And spf a million or don’t bother😅
@@christoperdevore3617 I spent over a decade wearing heavy FRC in the oil and gas industry and long sleeves and a breeze is good livin
@@GeauxRussGeauxLearned tricks from Mexican day laborers when I lived in AZ.
30 mins tops in the sun a day.
Well ventilated clothing from places like kuiu, sunscreen, qore ice plate for temperature regulation and water, and last but not least, tactical g string
My kuiu pants are awesome!! I keep my side vents open 24/7 lol
Great advice on hydration. I like to bring lmnt electrolytes (1000mg sodium) supplement packets with me to the range and gym, I avoid sugar as much as I can, then make the daily goal of a gallon of water a day.
LMNT is great. Work outside all day and they're a game changer
As a former roofer, this is all solid advice.
Having a severe heat stroke taught me the importance of proper clothing for the climate. That wicks sweat, has SPF rating or winter keeps you warm without overheating.
Up until a few years ago I thought a T shirt would be the most cool but if you keep your body covered in the right material it’s like being in the shade. I’ve found wearing Sun shirts without a shirt under it are the most cool. Kuiu gila, huk Sun shirts, simms Sun shirts . For pants I prefer beyond equatorial because the cargo pockets have mesh pockets so it’s good ventilation.
HA! I live in Texas, so, summer range/training clothes...got it, especially from May through August! It's the NVG CQB winter class I have with y'all at the end of '24 that gets me all kinds of discombobulated! In Central Texas, we never know, come November, if it'll be 90F, 100F, 30F, pleasant but rainy, or just flat out pleasant!
Will be packing the closet along with everything else!
From a PCT thru hiker do yourself a favor and get merino wool socks in a blend suitable for season/enviroment. If your feet run hot like mine a breathable hiker like a Salomon X Ultra 3 Aero is a must. The shoe itself will dry out insanely quicker than goretex lined shoes, especially if water gets in from the top. 4 and a half months of hiking 12-15 hours a day and no blisters. Merino wool is naturally anti-microbial and will be significantly less smelly than synthetic and especially cotton. Cotton socks need to die.
Here in FL it’s ALWAYS summer clothes
This is solid and methodical Duffy advise, I love it 🤙🏽
Looking forward to the rain episode. Being a fellow Florida Man, I'm in the hunt for quality breathable rain gear. Good tips, I've been thinking of the shirts with hoods and adding the ice plate chest rig setup for summer training. Don's shoot house last July was brutal in the heat.
I’m grateful for my Native American skin 😂 I spend hours a day in the mountains and hardly ever get burnt.
I prefer to go bare naked other than my belt and chest rig. I need to be highest speed with the lowest drag in order to maximize efficiency when I Larp with my buddies. Clothing would just slow me down
This is the way
Solid advise for sure man😎
I wish the Navy would have known about sun shirts, hiking pants and breathable shoes back when I was getting smoked in boot camp in the Orlando summer. Instead of adapt to better hot weather uniforms they shut the place down! haha!
I also live in Florida and I love the hot weather Crye G4 combat pants with the kneepads. I saw a guy at the range wearing some thin hiking pants run too fast take a little stumble knee hit the ground and just hit some spent brass just right blew his whole knee open to the bone I wear kneepads now lol
Green coconut water is great for hydration, much better than sugary sports drinks. It's even been injected directly into the blood stream as a saline or plasma replacement when none is available.
Thrudark is my shit… It’s kind of like Arc’Teryx, but even nicer.
Definitely prefer lightweight quick dry in the summer even with rain, my feet run hot
Layers aren’t fun to talk about but boy is layering fucking important
I believe that style of shirt is called an angling shirt. I have three cheapo ones from a local department store. Absolute game changer. How is the durability of Kuhl products? I tend to make my own trails and tear my stuff up after about a season.
I hate snap buttons. My kuhl shorts are my favorite shorts, but the snap button basically stops working after you use it enough times, and it’s not easy to sew a new one on like a normal pass through button.
Look into Alpaca socks and underwear.
Alpaca, Merino, Angora, or any high quality wool is the way! Some of the wool blends have great hot weather performance too while being durable for thickness.
Chow is continuous
what no cookies ? thanks for the vid😊
i prefer combat sandals 🤣
What boots did you pick?
It's literally in the video man.
@@KineticConsulting I’ve listened to that section 5 times. Can’t understand what you are saying? Suleywa? Googled it. Nada

At 2:12....VITAMIN D, BRO!!!
Common sense isn't so common. Yes, having a healthy tan helps to prevent sunburn but if you're going to be in the sun for 5+ hours maybe leave the tank top and daisy dukes at home.
I think goretex in footwear is a terrible idea
While it's not really waterproof, at least it's ventilated right?
just learned this lesson the hard way at a uspsa match..legit redneck now :/
